I was really looking forward to an hour-long movie review and analysis but I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes. You guys just KEPT rambling about trivial stuff. I don't care about when you guys went to the bathroom afterwards. I don't care who took your armrest. I don't know you. Pass.

That’s a great suggestion!! I’ve been meaning to get to that movie. We’ll consider it for our October horror retrospective reviews!

I saw another review that said it's about the pain you'll go for through love, which is a good way to tie in the second story. It's good to hear a real discussion about a movie (vs a summary). Also, heck yeah Regal Arbor mention.

I found Kinds of Kindness to be a brilliant thought provoking exploration of the dangers of cults in our society and how they affect the psyche and interpersonal relationships in the process. I have a theory the real Liz was kidnapped and the weird sex cult made a animal instinct driven clone of Liz

I LOVED every messy, complicated, toxic, co-dependent minute of this movie! Nothing cookie cutter about it at all. The cinematography - excellent. The time jumps are like a tennis match. The music, IMO, makes you feel the emotions of the scenes versus the actual spoken dialogue. The ending was chef's kiss. Zendaya yelling, then smiling because she just wanted to watch some good f***ing tennis and she got that PLUS the boys are back together. Best movie I've seen in the last few years. 10/10

I didn't like the non-book additions in The Hobbit. In principle, I don't have a problem with the idea, but a lot of what they added seemed to be at the behest of the studio for the sole purpose of making the films longer so they could turn what is a pretty short book into three movies. The result is that the films are padded to hell, and you can practically hear the story creaking under all the excess weight.
@SomewhereBetweenpod29 күн бұрын
It's hard to argue that! I think since they came along at the perfect time for me I have some nostalgic ties to the additions in the story. I remember in "An Unexpected Journey" people questioning the Gandalf story purpose but loving it! However plot points with Tauriel and her romance fall so flat for me.

Better made films, but the original Star Wars trilogy is more beloved by people worldwide, and is more in the zeitgeist of pop culture.
@SomewhereBetweenpod29 күн бұрын
I definitely don't disagree! Star Wars has such a lasting impact and I ADORE the original Trilogy.

The fall guy was awesome, really good time for me. For kingdom, kind of meh. Not bad, but after a masterpiece trilogy, kind of disappointing

We totally agree on The Fall Guy! I enjoyed it quite a bit. I totally understand on Kingdom, while I loved it, it didn’t quite match the previous two which is admittedly a HUGE bar to meet
