For everyone saying “this competition wasn’t very good, it lacked depth and many of the top flight athletes weren’t there,” seriously- shut it. Bridgette EARNED this world AA title by being the strongest of the field. Just because certain athletes weren’t there in no way diminished or decreased the level of competition and prestige of the event. Bridgette had some challenges on this event, but came back and absolutely nailed a floor routine while Rebecca had a huge mistake and ended up second. Winning the world AA title is no easy feat regardless of who is or is not there. Saying otherwise is selfish, childish and disrespectful.

I think it’s clear that if she had not fallen on the punch front half, Rebecca Bross would have been the 2009 World All-Around Champion. That being said, I think that even with that title, she still would have struggled with injuries and inconsistency and would not have made the 2012 Olympic team. Rebecca Bross always seemed to be in a precarious situation for one reason or another. It really sucks considering how hardworking she was and how difficult her routines were. She deserved much better results.

Inconsistency would definitely have kept her off, even without the knee injury for sure. By 2012 we just had too many far more consistent gymnasts.

@Zuranthium2 жыл бұрын
This routine deserved no deduction aside from the Ono being tilted + empty swing after, and the Toe-shoot to high bar. They screwed her over not only on execution score, but also on difficulty, only giving the Jam a D rating (wtf, why? it was excellent). She was absolutely ROBBED of the Silver medal here.

@@saragrant9749 That error has nothing to do with her difficulty score being wrong. She should have been given .3 more on the D score and that alone would have given her the Silver. In addition, her execution score was too low for the judging standard at the time, the big error is a .5 deduction, there is not 1.2 more here with 2009 standards.

@@saragrant9749 As usual you have no reasoning, just empty rhetoric. List every deduction you think should have been given and that of every other routine and I'll show where the bias is. @@Zuranthium The handstand on the Jam had to be completed within 30° and she completed it way after, that's why they downgraded it. I don't care if Nadia won more medals or if she landed better on her feets. Elena was THE BEST, she was a perfect 10, bolder movements, practically a dancer, more delicate movements, fast and strong as hell. The best Korbut I have seen was made by her and the Mukhina's salt, created by her is just... WOW. She was at Nadia's level, what she did in 3 years was amazing and when I learn about her story and how the fucking system ate her alive, I cried so so much. Simone Biles did well remembering her as an example, of one of the most tragic stories, just because medals are more importants than gymnasts. Elena begged and cried for help, no one listen to her and killed her
