  I would really like to know the specs: HP(?), amps & volts used. Can it generate power if the shaft is rotated by an external force..? Do the magnets interfere with each other in any form..? Does this have practical applications it can be applied to..???

  Nice little model. The other day, I was at work & one of my bosses was getting paid to prototype for this guy who was trying to make a kind of retro-fit magnetic system similar to this concept for drag racing. I started talking with him and it was obvious he hadn't done his homework. One of my bosses was getting paid for this and they were already in the last stages of the prototype so I was really perplexed as to whether I should explain to him that it's a highly inefficient design so I just explained a little bit about the magnetic Eddie-currents created in non-ferrous metals and told him that aluminum was at least, not the worst choice. The poor guy had no idea that there would be drag from the aluminum, let alone that he'd get more torque from moving the piston all the way into the coil. I figured that if he has the money to play around like that without the motivation to do his homework, it wouldn't crush him financially when he learns the bad news. ...hopefully. I've seen worse though. I knew a kid once that was determined to hook a 12 volt motor to a 24 volt generator and make free energy. Both I & his cousin tried to explain why it wouldn't work but some people have to learn from doing.

  Jaye Cheung I really hate you posting this up!! I installed this lock 2 months before you posted this video. The latch was the wrong way around and I didn't know you could push the latch and turn it around, so I had to open the lock and change it around - it took me more than 8 hours to fix it. Thanks for posting it though.

  There's some automation via the mi home app. You need to get the xiamoi gateway, to do this. I've had challenges with the gateway (keeps going offline), and I haven't spent much more time in doing the automation. Overall I need this available on hass.io, and as far as I can see aqara S1 is supported and S2 is not. I've currently got a mix of ZigBee, zwave, and wifi devices.

  @@tedev no the passcodes will work immediately without a time limit. You will need to delete them yourself from the lock or from the app. I've sent feedback as a feature request to be able to use scheduled activation and deactivation.

  I've got one and I wanted a mortise style lock. But there's a number a cons on this lock really disappointing. 1) The finger print reader is absolute garbage, I've resorted to using the pin codes since it was really frustrating. 2) Pin codes don't have a timer function, this feature is on most locks and not on this one. 3) The App is absolute garbage as well, no real features that make it useful. 4) The lock is larger than most locks- so before you install it be prepared since there is a point of no return since if you change your mind be prepared to change your door and door frame (i.e you're stuck). Also, I think you can only use this with the mainland china servers .... which make it absolutely useless for Google Home integration.
