I have the Instinct 2x, one of the most 'solar' Garmin. It's pure nonsense. A waste of 'technology'. I'd rather have the original contrasty screen of the original non solar instinct. That's basically the reason why people would chose non color display, but you ruin it through this screen. The problem with it it is just it doesn't provide real value. You get sunburned for hardly achieving 1% percent... Please listen, Garmin! And make the payments available on a non-solar 2x

People. The Monitor works fine, but only if its actually detecting your Heart Rate. Which it can only do if the electrodes are Wet.
Let's ask some important question for two key things shown in the video. 1 - Messaging : Does it work based on satellites or it require a connection through mobile? If its not satellite based, it's not a feature that I would go for. Because it would be maintain another messaging app. 2 - Cycling Ability : Does it still require a power meter? I guess it doesn't. While all the fancy shots and metrics shown in the videos are nice, but the stats are already available in the garmin connect app. I use my watch Epix gen 2.
I wouldn't get your hopes up. Those look like the standard Garmin message replies, very limited and pointless. I think you're just paying for the nice screen to be honest.

when saving waypoints as a collection on the app it should synchronize to your device as a route, instead it comes over to the Garmin device as a bunch of waypoints no longer grouped together in a route. lame
W ostatni weekend 1040 zdechł mi po równo 39 godzinach. Jechałem singlami w lasach (Singletrack Glacensis), więc nie za bardzo była opcja na doładowanie solarem.

Bateria to żart. 1040 lekko wytrzymuje ponad 42 godziny na full opcje i z czujnikami. W trybie oszczędzania nawet nie sprawdzam, bo nie ma sensu. A tutaj nawet nie da się machnąć trzydniowej wyprawy bez ładowarki lub powerbanka. Słabiutko. Jedynie na plus ekran.

When is garmin adding engine monitor/ code scanner adapter that’s compatible with the tread? Seems like an obvious need for most overlanders and kinda weird it’s not already part of this kit or setup. And for that price it should be available.
