    Enjoyed your review of the 23 300xc. So you know single track… so what’s your opinion of this bike on gnarly stuff? I know it’s not a 300 but is a place to start? I’ve spent a lot of time on a 21 450xcf on mountain single track. This bike looks like a good starting point.

    I picked up a 2024 300xc a few weeks ago and i agree on the front end weight. I think the best settings are 5mm fork height, Comfort settings with +2 on compression and 107mm sag. I found the extra sag takes the weight off the front. I'm 185lbs without gear. I tried the mid west lever and took it off as i don't like the engagement feeling.

  • @ReeceTasker
    @ReeceTasker10 ай бұрын

    The bike comes with a 10mm master cylinder for the clutch, changing to a 9mm reduces the clutch effort a lot and gives you a more progressive clutch. All the pro racers I know use 9mm clutch masters

    It’s a nice admit jet. For sure the one I have 25200 74V . The bike is nice though . Nice tires but heavy real suspension is good and rear . The rear brake lever super cheap but can change that. You mention the k a few time these are made in china just like the Surrons which I think are very good bikes, especially the ultra bee life is more like a grave bike for ripping around local woods streets whatever.

    Great comparison between the bikes! Lots of chatter about the new chassis being much stiffer - did you notice any big difference? Open cartridge XPLOR forks on the 23 vs the all new close cartridge XACT forks on the 24...any more insights into the different characteristics of the new forks?

  • @ReeceTasker
    @ReeceTasker11 ай бұрын

    With the new 24 forks adjusted up they feel pretty much the same as the 23. The forks "walk" just as much as the 23 model so I didnt notice any difference with the frame being stiffer. About the only attribute of the 24 over the 23 is the way it turns in the tight stuff, just a bit more nimble
