I’d love to meet up with you guys for a few beers. How about coming to this years Braybrooke beer Co harvest festival. I work the event, I’m sure I could swing some passes for you both
We'd love to! September is stacking up to be a busy month for us but we'll see if we can make that happen for sure. Thanks for the offer 👍
Russ and the Amity team are great hosts - worthy of a visit to their lovely tap room in Farsley, on the outskirts of Leeds. Whitelocks is one of Leeds oldest pubs, if not the oldest - an incredible heritage pub if you know which alley way to take.
This is great knowledge. We’ll look into doing this. A great brewery and one of the oldest pubs in a great city? Sold!
Dave is definitely a communist
Trotskyist, Marxist or Leninist? I’m sure there’s lots more.. I dunno.

God that's good
Almost out of nappies now guys good luck with next year
@@dickiecoco2938 Read that initially as you need to go now and get nappies. I need coffee 😅
Thanks for watching guys. The podcast is nearly 1 years old! Feel free to throw some answers to Paul's big question... If you could choose any celebrity to turn into an inorganic material, who would it be? And what material would it be? We could read a few out in the birthday episode.
In a container behind the door I my en suite bathroom

Brettanomyces is a genus of yeast.
I keep a binder of beer mats from places we've visited, always looking out for fresh ones or minimal spillage!

Brilliant stuff!
Amazing video guys, I want to do it myself! Is it wrong to do it on your own?
It’s not wrong, it’s encouraged. 🍻
Mate lives in N Ireland and had a few Modest beers when visiting him - not a dud one amongst them.
One of your best so far 👌🏼
You’re a legend, Steve
This is brilliant guys
Very proud of you Karling
Thanks for watching our first Beer Boot Camp! 🍻 We had a blast filming this one and teaching Jonny and Karl about different beer styles. Would you like to see another Beer Boot Camp with more beer styles or maybe a challenge for Jonny and Karl? Let us know your thoughts and suggestions below! Your feedback helps us plan our next beer-ventures. Cheers!
Great production. Definitely do another one!
If I can't get them in the fridge, just in a cupboard seems fine. Sometimes in the shed, depending on the outside temperature.
Agreed. If there’s room in the inn…
In a cupboard. Slightly chill them before drinking
I’m gonna call this the Reverse Paul manueouver 🍻
in my cool basement!
Basement eh? Ready for the Russians AND the Russian Imperial Stouts.
@@planetbeertv hah, exactly
Only decent spots in Banbury are The Reindeer (another Hooky pub), the Apothecarys Tap (for craft) and the Tap Social bar at Lock29. Love the video concept! Edit, I've now read the blog 😂😂😂
Apothecary’s Tap was on our list but we timed it badly, not realising they close at 8pm. Cheers Vinnie! I’m still aggrieved that I couldn’t keep it up. But we’ll inevitably do this again, and I’ll be more prepared!
@@planetbeertv A January visit probably contributed to the ApTaps early closing. It's a great little spot in a town that doesn't have much of a craft offering. Heard about the channel on Friday 5pm and working through your back catalogue!
The cloudwater x elusive beer is absolutely incredible, I was lucky enough to have it on keg, terrific beer
Yep. We smashed it after filming. Banging beer!
Look at Mill Hill brewing based in Leicester. They’re making some terrific stuff, they go to pretty much every food festival they can around Leicestershire. Check them out!
Yes we've had a fair bit of Mill Hill. Really great stuff. We should feature them for sure!
Nailed it boys 😂😂😂
Great vid! Please do a video about the new Fresh Ale category (created originally by Otter Brewery in Devon)… I need to learn more. More cask videos would be great too.
Cheers Arran! That’s a great shout about Fresh Ale. We’ll look into that one as it looks like an interesting little innovation. Not to mention a good excuse for a trip to Devon! We’ve got a cask beer vid going in to production too in the next few weeks, so we’ll keep you posted on that! 🍻

Forget the beer... I'm so envious of Paul's hair. Killer wave!
It's all I've got, really
happy 1k btw chaps....
Have you tried any Dark Element beers? Very good IPA’s!! On par with the big boys and Nothing Bound etc
I (Paul) have! Yeah very good up and coming brewery. Enjoyed what I've tried so far and looking forward to what they do next
Fresh air sniper 😂
Proper wiped him out.
That beer sounds beautiful ( never had it ) but sounds like I definitely should. I love you guys fantastic vid again cheers 👍🍻
Cheers Rick! Yes, if hoppy DIPAs are your jam, Heady is well worth the purchase 🍻
Simcoe, Centennial, Amarillo, Apollo & CTZ Alchemist is always a must stop at when I am anywhere near Stowe (I am in Canada). Have planned routes on vacation to include a stop at Alchemist. They opened in 2003 as a pub in Waterbury VT, after 8yrs they decided to open a small production brewery. Not long after a Hurricane rolled through and pretty much destroyed the pub due to flood waters. I can remember watching an interview with John, said he went in to check on the pub after the bulk of the storm had passed, pub itself was fine, but could hear clanking in the basement (brewery at the time was in the basement) opens the cellar door, and water was pretty much even with the main floor. The clanking noises were all the tanks and such they brewed with. Pretty much closed the door, and went back home. Heady wasn't even a beer that sold that much at the pub (well before the whole NEIPA craze), but after the storm that was the one beer they focused on at the new production facility. They only beer they made there (and still use it to make Heady there). The lust for Heady exploded, and long lines were seen, much to the chagrin of the locals. I had been to the old brewing facility twice, but never experienced the long lines. Canning line you could view from where you picked up your Heady. Many times what you took out the door with you, they had just canned 5 mins prior. Fast Foward to 2016 and the new state of the art facility in Stowe opened, and the rest is history. Great place to go a waste away a day.
Thanks so much for the background! Great bit of insight there. I’d say it’s a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’ we make it over there. And when we do, Alchemist will be on the list of must see places 🍻
@@planetbeertv Vermont is a bevy of superb beer. Stowe area you have Alchemist. Von Trapp for traditional German beer. Just up the road in Morristown you have Lost Nation, Rock Art and Soulmate. Little farther up you will find Hill Farmstead which is a must see. South of Stowe in Waterbury, you have the Prohibition Pig which has a huge draft list from all over VT, NH, & Mass, and used to be the home of Alchemist when they got started. Little bit south of there, you have Lawson's Finest. IMHO, if you only had time to hit 3 in the area. Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Lawson's. On top of all of that, are all the great ones in and around Burlington, Frost, Burlington Beer Company, Foam, Fiddlehead, etc, etc.
Beauty! I’m team drink from the glass! If you do make it to Stowe, you may be able to get a pint of Heady on cask at the brewery.
Sir, you just blew our mind. Heady on Cask!? That would be quite something.
Was lucky to bag 4 free bottles of Pliny last year. This has also been on my hit list for quite sometime. Hard to get hold of. Fair enough. But how many residents of Vermont have bagged a bottle of Bathams? Any Americans want to trade?
That’s a great point! We are spoilt with a good pint of Bathams. Maybe we should take a suitcase full and go over to the US as missionaries and trade hype beers. We’re hoping to get Pliny at some point, another bucket list beer. What did you think?
@@planetbeertv I’m in for that. Where do I sign. I loved the Pliny but I’m a sucker for westies anyway. It was very good but not mind blowingly so. Nice to scratch that particular itch.
Nope - no beer is worth that in my book, sorry guys. Good video though 😊
Just wait until you see what we’ve got planned for a future video 😱 Cheers Lee, appreciate it 🍻

Great recommendations, we’ll have to try a part 2!
really interesting watch - cool insight and well put together. Interesting to see the UK perspective which is a little bit or a bell weather for other European nations lagging behind slightly. Wasn't clear on your comment about cans & bottles being a zero sum game. Are you able to clarify?
Essentially, bottle shops are competing for a share of the same pool of customers. And those customers have a finite budget. So if they buy a can of Brand New DIPA from Bottle Shop 1, that’s a can of Brand New DIPA which Bottle Shop 2 won’t be selling to that same person. Unless of course, the customer buys a can from each - but that’s certainly not the norm. Not in this economic climate anyway 😂 Thanks for the comment. Where abouts are you based?
