    I wonder where can i get your preset 🙂 and is it better to buy the sigma instead of the canon?

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms
    @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms6 жыл бұрын

    Unfortunately the preset was one I custom made and then lost later on - apologises! As for the lens, you're best watching a few comparison videos on youtube - I used the Canon because it was all I had at the time.

    The truth is that it's the man not the cam. I was professionally using a 550d but the sensor was letting me down in low light. I now use a 7d mk ii and the footage is beautiful. Now I'm at the point where I want to upgrade my setup, but I've come from the bottom up so I know why and what I need. A 6D and a 24-105 is more than good enough depending on your usage and needs. Relevance is a 'relative' term. What's your workflow and budget and needs. I shoot daily news and need a fast workflow so quality has to be paired with small file size etc. Don't let the pointless numerous camera comparison videos sway you. Get a camera and start doing it

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms

    Cheers Dennis! Yes I was a single shooter there. I had a Canon 600d as a backup and it sat at the back of the room for the wide shot during the ceremony, speeches and first dance. Everything else is the result of running around with my 6D like a madman!

    I also have a 6D, can you tell me how you get all your videos in focus? I have the hardest time with that

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms
    @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms6 жыл бұрын

    It's all manual focus, constantly having a hand on the lens and adjusting it to suit. If you're not too fussed about shallow depths of field (blurry backgrounds) then make sure your F stop is around 7 or 8 (or higher) in order to keep more things in focus. This helps when moving around a lot so you're not constantly focusing. Hope this helps!

    very very nice colorful video , very impressed, is the color straight out of camera video footage or did you enhanced the color in adobe or some video editing software, one more question, is 24-105 lens has 3 kinds , one is newer STM version without L lens or version one 24-105 L or version two 24-105 L ??

    Beautiful video .. very cool...may I ask how did you stabilize canon 6d?? Steadycam Gimbal or monopod? ? Many thanks. .. cheers

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms
    @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms6 жыл бұрын

    I did have a basic monopod with me during most of it (a cheaper one without any tripod legs at the bottom), but other than that it's all handheld. It sounds daft, but pushing/your arms into your body more to make it tighter really helps keep it a lot more steady! Some clips also have the warp stabilizer effect on in Premiere. Hope that helps - thanks for watching :)

    Hi there!! Awesome video. I have a Canon 6D as well with 16-35mm f4 IS and 70-200mm f2.8 however, I am mostly a photographer now venturing into videos. How do you color correct your footage? Do you use LUTS or custom color grade? Dont know why my video not coming of this high quality. I shoot in ALL-I as well. Also, do you use some kind of stabiliser or glidecam/gimbal? Do you regret the fact that you are not able to use 60fps in 1080? Sorry for the long questions. Would really appreciate if you can reply.

    Hi, great video! Did you use auto focus or manual when shooting? And which settings were your favourite when vlogging with canon 6d? Thanks in advance for the tips!

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms
    @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms7 жыл бұрын

    Hey! The 6D doesn't have autofocus for video so everything is manual. It can be a pain in the arse, hah! As for settings, I just shot the majority of this at 24fps with a shutter speed of usually 50.

    Hi, What lenses did you use for this video? I'm shooting with a Canon 6D too!

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms

    Hi Alon - thanks for checking the video out. I shoot all of this with the 24-105L - it was the only lens I had at the time! I also just shot a wedding last month with the 6D and this lens again and it still works a charm!

    Thank you for sharing with us. Great video for me ^_^ I have some question, You recorded all of this with ALL-I or IPB mode? what frame rate and aperture did you use? I'm a new comer for video, Thank you very much.

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms
    @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms7 жыл бұрын

    So I always shoot with the ALL-I settings. The reason for this is that the ALL-I settings make it quicker and easier to edit videos frame by frame in post. The downside to this, is that the file sizes are a lot bigger than IPB. Personal choice at the end of the day, but I would recommend ALL-I. I shot the vast majority of this at 24fps. If I ever shoot in 50fps it's for the sole intention of using slow-motion clips later (I don't think there are any in this video, perhaps just the shot near the beginning with their names on screen). As for aperture - well it constantly changes depending on the location/lighting etc. If I want to get a shot that has a nice creamy background then use F4 would be fine (it's as far as the 24-105 lens will go). Also, any evening shots (dancing etc) will be with F4 as it brings the most amount of light into the camera, meaning that I don't need to use a higher number ISO (which creates 'noise'). Hope that answers your questions :) Thank you for taking the time to watch my video!

    Thank you soooooo much, much more details answered new comer like me. One of the best detail and useful answer I've got from youtuber. Again, Love this video and Thank you very much :)

  • @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms
    @CraigGalleyWeddingFilms7 жыл бұрын

    No Problem, thanks for taking the time to watch :) Just going back to the ALL-I/IPB thing - be prepared to fill a 32gb card with ALL-I in less than an hour. You'll get double if not more with IPB, so if you're filming a wedding speech for example it's best to change to IPB!
