I'm there all of the time. The MTB community in Knoxville is definitely blessed!
welp, i switched to shorter cranks a few years back as strictly a solution to pedal strike as mentioned over the summer i found i was having less leg cramps and hip soreness after a long ride after a few years now, i also like the shorter cranks with more q factor please dont buy them if u think u will instantly be a billy goat or pro rider for doing this you will feel the faster rollover and less dead space between strokes you will "feel" faster and spin "faster", you could also get this same effect with a bike fitter ... you will notice less pedal strike almost immediately for sure
Is it all downhill? No extended winding twisty thru the woods?
Just started MTB and found out that I’m 12 min from this trail! It’s my favorite!
My local bike shop has spur smuggler and patrol and sentinel . What are your thoughts on the patrol ?
I like your clarity. Keep conveying. And here we thought clear thinking was out the window in a world gone mad.
How wide are RC vs 5n10?
How tall are you and what size HT do you have?
Nice bike! We can't easily get this bike in Europe which is a bummer. The looks do remind me a lot of my Spectral 125!
Howdy, great video and topic. I appreciate your bio mechanic and gait cycle lens and am curious how you would apply that to oval chainrings?? Thanks for the great content!
I have it, it better than ixs trigger FF and gambit from Specialized. Also slimmer by 1.5cm in total from left to right
Lower or seat 3in. and don't go higher.
For anyone doubting the exercise aspect of an ebike, go ride with a group of ebike riders and ride one up the hill and then hop back on your analog bike..I did yesterday and my feet felt like I had lead attached to them..e bikes give you way more riding opportunities in a day out and when you get to the top of trail, you’re not wiped out on the 2nd or third climb making the descents safer..I think most people who are hesitant need to look at SL bikes cause these heavy full power bikes are not necessary with the new smaller motors and more energy dense batteries coming out
What vehicle do you use for your trips?
A Promaster is what I started with… kzread.infovydvOWR3630?si=l216VkgPHLXBTruk. I’m now in a Sprinter 144 🤙🏼
Hi Any issues with the Rock Shox Coil? I'm thinking about upgrading my Rise (Size L) , since the float x just doesn't cut it on long, gnarly decents, but I read somewhere that the Coil can rub on the frame when bottoming out. Thanks for your reply
@@warlog1993 I didn’t have any issues, and the super deluxe ultimate coil is still one of my favorite rear shocks, having ran many different shocks over the last few years
I wish the bike came with the silver lowers. Looks so nice
This bike sexy as fuck. Like that it performs as awesome as it looks.
Where is your remote mounted for the dropper post?
Nice video. That place looks super fun
Sizes are why I like the Stamp.
5'9ish, Norco Bigfoot 3 2022. What model do you recommend? I have short legs. 😂
I had severe lower back pain due to extended hours on a MTB, mow I learned the tricks. Thank you that I can continue cycling now and make myself stronger.
Great review ,im tossing up between nomad and mega ur review really helps, cheers
The squat/press analogy is a good one for conveying the effect of the longer lever on your leg joints and muscles
back in the olden days I bought a pair of cook bros cranks. Raced XC for an entire season, crushing everyone in the climbing sections and podiuming a bunch. It wasn't till they got flexy and I pulled em that I realized they were 185s. Went back to 175s and I was just a mere mortal again.
torque is low end power stop lying
using the crank inseam formula 31 inch inseam should be rocking 170mm crank
@@tbull1545 🤫 don’t tell my 155mm cranks that we didn’t follow your formula
Started racing in 1986, USCF licensed in 1989, have going to 2 training camps at the Olympic Training Center as a cyclists and was a mechanic on the 2010 World team. This argument comes around every 10-15 years. Good take on it, but you’re not gonna get me off my 175’s every time I try shorter my knees start hurting, the shorter the cranks the quicker the discomfort.
This 18% measure should be used for more grips and selling th3’ accurately. Great vid.
Cascade link went over center over compressed rear shock jamb rear tire against seatpost I went over the bars took 3 mechanics to pull it out sent link and frame to cascade for evaluation and they could not find anything wrong except minor bearing wear and they sent all it back said tuff pal we can’t find any fault with our product. Lesson learned Factory engineers design frames best not to try to make a frame travel further than it was designed for! Now I’m stuck with a damaged $4k carbon frame front triangle. I changed back to Santa Cruz standard link to be safe. I have videos without shock on that I sent to cascade they you can see how link allows head of bolt gouge into frame and jamb
Been riding in FiveTens for over three years, now they're just begging to let them die. Gonna try the Vices now, hopefully they won't disappoints. Thanks for the review!
What size is that bike?
Completely agree on the dissector, went Ground Control T7/T5 combo, huge improvement.
with that 130 fork its no longer an xc bike for sure
It’s a 120mm fork
Great vid. You mention videos of your Idaho, Utah etc. rides. I couldn't find those on your channel though...Link(s)? Thanks.
How tall are you to use this M size? Just want a gauge. Thanks .
My wife tells me it's not how long the crank is, just how hard I can pedal. She was right.
Another 10 years longer cranks will be back. 🙃 ❤
Is Transition a popular go to brand for a moutain bike in the US? I'm from the UK and was looking to purchase a transition bike but I've never heard of the brand before, I've never seen someone with a transition bike and there's only a handful of retailers here who sell them so it's obviously not a popular brand here in the UK.
Gotten a little more popular here in SoCal. They’re a great company. Personally If I were you I’d buy it for the reason you don’t see a lot of them where you’re at. But that’s the hipster in me talking
What made more of a difference this or the link?
great video
What is the advantage of SC going with the 35mm rise bar over the previous gen 20mm rise bars?
In climbing the shorter crank reduces the deadspot time and in that way allows for better continuous power delivery. You might want to test if you get the same effect with 160mm cranks and an oval chainring.
Thank you so much
Too long is too long. Too short is too short. 165 to 175 mm certainly isn't optimal for below average height riders. I'm 1840 mm and I prefer 165 mm cranks.
25 miles but what was the elevation gain ?
Just went on the website looks like it's no longer available
Omg. Finally. Been riding for 30 years. 5’4. Been preaching this stuff to deaf ears. Thank you for hearing me. Glad i found your video
I just picked up Mountain biking at 34 years old thanks to a buddy of mine. We’re truly blessed here in Knoxville to have all these amazing places to ride. Great video!
