  I got used to packing my own groceries and find it a bit annoying when they do it for you and start taking it out to your car in the hopes of getting a tip, even though I didn't ask for their help. It's not a big deal, but it's just something that I need to get used to again. But everything else you mentioned, completely agree. Although in St. Elizabeth I went to a gas station in Nain district where the male pump attendant refused to let me pay by the pump. I had to get out the car even though I had a sprained ankle. Him claim it is company policy for the customer to go inside and pay & him don't want to lose him job. Interesting that nobody else seem to know about that policy because he is the only attendant that insist that you have to go inside to pay. Even when I go in and pay, the cashier asked me if I wasnt able to pay outside. When I said no, she looked at me funny. Every country has its quirks, anyway. And one of the things I absolutely love about Jamaica, is how friendly and kind our people are. Me and my mom went to this village in Manchester to get our car fixed and not only did those people cook for us, but our car was laden with all kinds of ground provisions when we were leaving: sweet potato, avocado, cane, sour sop, plantains, ackee. I have never experienced anything like this anywhere else!

  They are employed to pack the bags though. They are not just doing it for tips. Oh wow.. that pump attendant was not having a good day at all 😆.

  @@nadzinspirez I know they are, but they're still looking to get tipped, esp when they take the initiative to carry the bags to car without you asking. As for that pump attendant, it wasn't just that one day. Every time I went there it was the same foolishness.

  @prettycareye3181 oh wow. I thought it was a one time thing since you said the cashier was surprise that you had to go in. It must be the cheapest gas station, otherwise I would go elsewhere.

  @@nadzinspirez I was asked on one occasion if I couldn't pay by the pump. The other times, I wasn't asked. And the prices are reasonable at that station, but that's not the reason I continued to go there. I continued to go there because it is the only station in the community. Otherwise you have to drive to another district to reach the next station. Both are some distance away & not always convenient. This is a rural area. It's not like Kingston, or even Spanish Town, with a gass station on every corner.
