    Similar situation for me I got my first flat in my Tesla just over a year after I bought it. Of course I had the worst Walk as the mail went right into the sidewall went from 32 pounds to like 8 pounds within 10 seconds Tesla did come out And actually brought me a replacement wheel tire and mounted it and took the flat back to the shop. I drove to the Tesla center the next day. It’s only about 2 miles from my house and they had it ready to go for replacing the bad news was it was about$475. With only 6000 miles on the car it was depressing oh well hopefully that doesn’t happen again otherwise it’s been a joy to drive.

    @@taylordencermedia for sure, actually the way Tesla came out within an hour with the temporary wheel which perfectly matched the one that got the flat was really good. The only thing I was used to was the high cost of the tire, but that kind of goes with the territory.

    I had a flat tyre on may 12,2024 , 2 days after the tornado hit tallahassee, a lot of debris was there on the road I got a flat tyre for my tesla model 3 , a local tyre shop straight away declined that We do not operate on TESLA's even though they were free that time . Hi Taylor! Found your channel about 2/3 weeks ago, and have seen a few of your videos so far. I recently picked up a MYAWD 7-seater (I have kids), and I'm interested in doing some car camping in the future. Little by little I'm getting a few things, like shades for all the windows, a car mattress and a car tent (where you open the trunk and attach the tent to it). I very much appreciate the information on campgrounds around the west coast (I live in San Diego) and getting a feel on how to plan around for supercharging and having a ballpark idea on what the overnight consumption is on camp mode. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and seeing what things you try and think are good additions, or not so much. Good luck and stay safe out there! - (liked and subscribed :) -

    @@iBasskung that is an excellent question! It is very safe to sleep in the Tesla overnight. In fact, Tesla has a safeguard when using camp mode, if the battery reaches 20% it will automatically shut off camp mode so that it does not empty your battery. Additionally, while using camp mode, it disables sentry mode or the car alarm. This is just something to be aware of and to just make sure you lock the car before going to sleep. I also keep the drivers seat free of any items so in case for whatever reason I need to climb over and drive away quickly, I can.

    You registration fee is, at most, $175 additional for an EV. The bigger cost is the value of the vehicle when purchased. If you bought yours a year ago, the price was likely between $55,000 and $60,000. (Depending on options, etc.) Comparing that to a Civic which is about half the price, you will see the higher registration fees. They’re supposed to go down each year (value of the vehicle), but it is an insignificant amount in the scheme of things. Related to the $175 (max), I think it’s a typical bogus tax that the California legislature came up with by pulling things out of their behinds. The rationale is that EVs are not paying a gasoline tax and are therefore not contributing to road maintenance/repairs. Though there is validity in that, the “one fee fits all” is where the logic breaks down. In my case, I have just over 1,000 miles over the last year on my Y. So, very little wear and tear on the roads from me. Comparing that to your 13,000+ (I think that is what you said.), you’re actually ahead of the game assuming a 40 MPG car. Gas tax for that mileage would be ~$185 over the last year which puts you at a $10 savings from a gas tax perspective. In my case, I’ve lost ~$162 over the last year. This is, of course, assuming that 13,000 miles is solely in CA.

    @taylordencermedia25 күн бұрын

    @@jbhorner thanks for this detailed breakdown. I do think it’s silly that they charge more based on the value of the car, simply because my car would affect the roads in the same way at 1 yr old vs 5yrs old.
