Thanks for the video and for showing the reality of cycling alone. When off road and remote I much prefer to have someone else cycling near me even if we don’t talk for a few hours at a time, knowing that when I have the self doubt, negative thoughts etc having someone along side and having a blather can have a positive impact on my mood and allows me to carry on. When I on my own I often find reasons to call it a day and return home. Thanks once again and hope you manage to get to Spain soon.

I'm usually pretty happy with my own company for long stretches, but it does make it a bit harder when things are getting rough and you're not having a great time. I'd quite often manage to talk someone into joining me, but this was a bit of a last minute effort with very little planning involved!

Is that one of the worx pressure washers? I have a mini karcher but it needs a power supply which is fine in my shogun but off grid with the van I need something else.
@RossFinnie7 ай бұрын
Yep, that’s the one. I’ve had it a couple of years now and it’s been great for getting the worst crap off the bike before giving it a proper wash back at home. I also use it at home as I’m in a flat with no outdoor tap in the garden. A battery does about 2-3 bike washes (with about 10 litres of water) depending on mud level.

@@RossFinnie yes, you're so lucky to live where you do. I've cycled (and canoed) all over Scotland but to have it on your doorstep, I'm genuinely so envious 🙂👍 I'll probably do the Badger Divide next year on my gravel bike.

When you said in Inverness that you were aiming for the pass, and it was already midday, I did wonder if you knew there was +4000 ft of climbing just to Fort A.
@RossFinnie7 ай бұрын
Hehe aye, I knew it was going to be a pretty big day for elevation. I think under normal circumstances I'd have been fine, but just the fact that I had done very little training on the bike and was just off the back of a running injury meant my legs didn't quite match my eyes in terms of getting it done.

Really enjoyed this. Although you were obviously suffering with the weather being 'dreich'. The video footage from the bike made me feel like I was doing the descents too - it looked quite scary and very dodgy with the slippery gravel and rocks.. I think I would have fallen off! Hope you complete the Badger in future under blue skies (and you enjoyed the crisps).

Thanks for putting up the video, I can't find any review either! A couple of questions about the chainring space. How many teeth on that chainring? Do you think a 32 or 34 would fit? What chainset model is it, 6100 or 6120? Hope you're enjoying riding it!

Sorry I didn’t see this comment sooner! Clearance is pretty tight with a 32t ring, not sure I’d fancy chancing a 34t. That’s the 6100 chainset that came fitted.
