    Thanks for the video. Did you consider getting cfx3 35 instead? I can get it for about same price but wonder if it's too big for me and my wife.

  • @WhyWeLikeIt
    @WhyWeLikeIt2 күн бұрын

    Thanks for the question Nick! If you can fit it get the 35 for sure! I had to go with the 25L because of space (the table on the back door takes up some room when everything is folded up) depending on what we are taking with us I have had to get creative on packing somethings to make room. I guess one good thing about being limited on space is that packing the fridge has helped in meal prep and planning. But if you can get something bigger (even the 45L) try to do that. What ever size you go with, make a video and share it with us, I’d love to see your set up!!

    Hey, I appreciate your comment, sorry to hear that yours is noisy. I rarely hear mine kick on at all. You may want to reach out to Dometic and speak with them about this. Maybe it’s a warranty issue. These are expensive units so if you have an issue, definitely let the company know. They’ve been very responsive when I’ve reached out to them in the past.

    Have you run into any problems with the Defender voltage dropping below 13V thus it stops charging the Delta? Also, do you have to turn your Alternator on every time you turn off your vehicle? I'm just wondering if my Defenders alternator is not able to charge both the vehicles battery and the Delta. I drove over 2 hours and only charged my Delta 10% before the vehicle battery dropped below 13V and it never did go back up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My vehicle is a 24 Defender P400.

  • @WhyWeLikeIt
    @WhyWeLikeIt5 күн бұрын

    I also have the P400 and have been running the EcoFlow alternator charger for about two weeks for testing. The defenders have some type of smart alternator that regulates the output as needed. I did notice what you’re talking about one time where it was under 13v for one of my daily drives. I normally leave the alternator charger at 13v and it works fine. But in scenario where I’m parked at a camp site and I need to charge up I would start the car, monitor the output, drop to 12v and adjust it back up once I’m finished charging. I also reached out to Ecoflow to see if they could add their app to Apple CarPlay so I could monitor the charging from the defenders center screen.

    Thanks for your question and for watching! I don’t personally have a Wave2 extra battery, I run my Wave2 directly from the Delta 2 Max so I can’t test the theory. But ecoflow waits the Alternator Charger powers up the WAVE 2 Add-On Battery independently and 8× faster than traditional methods-fully recharging 1kWh in just 75 mintues. What this means is you can charge it separately from the wave 2 so you cannot run the wave 2 and charge at the same time. But to answer the question yes it seems like you can charge the battery (just not while the wave 2 is plugged to it and running)

    Got my Lightranger 2000 but have to exchange it. White and yellow diodes on one side are flickering. Still waiting for new one to arrive. Hadn’t received any indication that my replacement was being shipped. Finally filled out a review that was sent to me from a Devos Outdoor. Gave the rating two stars with the reason that they need to work on their quality control and inspections before shipping. It’s typical that this review was never posted on their website. I even filled out a review on their website and it never got posted. I have seen other companies screen their reviews and only post favorable ones. This is not a good practice. Overall like the light and its ability especially the App control.

    Wait so we are getting more power from the alternator? How is that possible? Are with built in inverters just not as good? My car has a 150w ac inverter built into it. But then this can go up to 800w. Are we just typically not using our alternators to their max headroom?

  • @WhyWeLikeIt

    Thanks for the comment. You are correct, the more orange the flame the less air mixture burning with gas, which causes more soot. So it’s not wise to cook directly over. A good example would be cooking a hot dog or marshmallow right over the flame. The elite does have cleaner gas mixture so from time to time I use a griddle top, pan or pot because the food is not coming in contact with the flame itself.

    Awesome overview. I’ve had my original Ignik Firecan Original for almost 2 years now and love it. Best of all I got a screaming deal on it at REI for 50% off. As much as I’d like to upgrade to one of the better (newer) firecans I just can’t justify the price since I got a great deal on mine.

    Thanks for the comment! Yea the original firecan is fantastic and it is awesome you got it at such a great price, you really lucked out. No need to upgrade if what you got works! I have modified my original firecan to output more flame by adding a larger gas orfice🔥. (Maybe I need to make a video about how to do the modification)

    Do you find that the Elite Series with stainless steel body has LESS warpage caused by heat than the steel structure of the original Fire Can? Have viewed a few videos that reported side warpage of the original Fire Can caused by excessive heat from the burner unit.

    Thanks for the great question, I would say less warpage on the elite but honestly I have never seen a big difference in either. The elite puts out a lot more heat than the original firecan. I will also say I cook and put things on top of both my original and elite firecans which is going to put significantly more heat on the sides at times then as initially intended. Because of this, I’ve seen a little warpage in both the elite and the original, but nothing that would keep the lid from closing. I will also note that if you’re using lava rocks, it can disperse the gas and flame differently which can also heat the sides up more than normal. I use rocks in both elite and my original (moon rocks in the elite to keep it light weight and tumbles lava rocks in the original) we use our firecans almost weekly so I’m happy to report that they’ve all done well and have held up like a champ. I’ve had no issues. 🔥🔥🔥

    Just a thought, if cooking with lava rocks they will absorb fat, grease, odor of foods. Careful if using in Bear Country. Raccoons might just join you for an evening investigation. Cheers!
