Not of much practical importance. Just to thank you for opening a whole new world for me, that of drawing, at the ripe age of 52.
Long point art take too much time
Selective,.... ..,

Beautiful work! Thank you!
Thank you!
great story!
Great talk! Very insightful!
I love this as Ron Lemen is my mentor believe it or not. he's the best
Great post Jeff. The man was an art-god
What a fantastic memory.
such a good teacher!
hola Jeff; donde compras esos libros?
I was today years old when I discovered your seven-year-old video! This video is so validating and so exciting because all of these OCD things I have been doing you are mentioning in this video. I’ve been building a massive library. I have been time blocking developing certain aspects of drawing on my own outside of my classes. I took Art for a few years decades ago in high school before I got distracted by foreign language and then I spent about 20 or 30 years in historical reenactment, which gave me a really great foundation in art history and learning about techniques and processes in the various fields of art. I got a job at my local university so that I could go to school part time as part of the benefit but because I have my historic reenactment background, I am kind of hardwired to be more methodical and dig deeper and Leverage the basic techniques. I’m learning in classes to expand my skills even further. I saw a video that is more recent. That was a tour of your studio and I have been following Proko Art for a while and was excited that he was one of your students. So I’m just ever so grateful that KZread algorithm gods have finally let me discover you. I have already decided that I want to take additional instruction independent of my curriculum so I can do deeper dives into improving my technique. I’m going to work some of your online courses into my budget during my summers and winter break. I am just incredibly happy that you and your school exists.
and I thought(WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I POP MY GLOGS ))))with all my stuff,,,,, .a few years ago a ladies father died ,we had a van and loaded his stuff up ,,took it all to the art club and had a Sunday sale
Some muscle people are way better than others, don't draw poop people.
2:35 min😵😱😨🤔🤔🤔
7:20 hahahaha my heart suddenly stop for a second.
watching people who draw better then me, get critique from people who are WAY better then me, is so useful! Thanks!!
Love this story. Appreciate you sharing
10:35 to me it looks like an unfinished drawing.
8:54 this guy is so full of himself... your work boring, it looks like illustrations from the 50s.
Looks like an older Robin Hood
Linear progression is one theory. There are times we have great discoveries and jumps in abilities. The creative process includes incubation of ideas.
I learned more about composition in this video in 20 minutes than I did all my life, including drawing classes... Thank so much!
I was also watching this video 4 days ago, omg, what a coincidence ha ha ha 😭
is gouache like watercolor? is the way to approach the painting process is the same?
If I had a great passport and loads of money, I would travel to the USA and live in that art building. I would pay Jeff rent and sleep there while Jeff taught me everything.
the video alone have helped me so much that i cant describe how much im greatful for u lmao..like litreally changed how i draw everything aahahahahah
Wow her work is awesome! Really appeals to me. I live in OC so might pop down there for a class with you.
I wanna listen to jeff's intro but GOD DAMN those paintings are so distracting, gorgeus!!
Thanks a lot for your generosity in sharing so much of guidance for free on the internet. Which graphite materials /grades /brands were used in the graphite drawing on the display. Thanks in advance
Yeah. I think there's also the idea of rather than give up: rest and then keep going. I've been trying out different art forms like acting and writing to let my drawing and painting rest for a bit. Then have been picking up a pencil and doing simple cafe sketching to ease back in.
For me, its the sparking off your peers- so special when it happens.
i was shocked i have about 5 of these
Great Lesson, learned more things than I have been learning all these years. Little things matter, loved you explained about the tools and materials. that's most important thing we need to understand the most
what criterions have you put to have said that you overcome the pride of having your student become better than you? are we supposed to just believe you by word of mouth? yes you are great at drawing, and no one can deny that fact, I just want to know if you have already overcame that aspect of yourself that feels like you own someone just because you have taught them
I feel fortunate....
Moe book, less you a ould be great. I just mean zoom in please.
Awesome.
Amazing
As long as your studio does not contain wide windows through which natural light can enter, it is considered to be of no value at all. Daylight is very necessary for the studio, otherwise it is considered a dark cave.

❤❤❤❤❤
Wonderful, informative video! Beautiful work. Thank you ❤
Is there a part 2?
There is so much relevant information in this video, philosophical, artistic and psychological, that you can apply in any discipline. Furthermore, this demonstration of mastery is priceless. I'm going to watch this video again and again and again. "Try to make it fun" , "There's no shortcut" Thanks so much 😎
Thanks for this Jeff. I've listened to this so many times and was just listening to it now while I was doing timed practice. You have an attitude that shows a spirit of practicality. People like to think of artists as weirdos or unstable psychos. But when you talk, you give the impression of someone who has a sound mind, is down to earth and articulate. You also don't sugar coat.
That man is a freaking legend.
