Sneaking in an early Braids is peak MTG
I must confess myself to be quite triggered by your Miracle-Gro opponent using the modern card frames.
In game 1 last turn, wouldn't it have been better not to therapy pre combat in order to play around foil? I mean, if he foils and the dryad becomes a 6/6, opponent might stabilize at 1 life. Didn't matter now, but it got me thinking.
That's a good point - thanks for mentioning it
Those are really beautiful games of Premodern. Temping Worm is really a powerhouse in combination with Genesis or Discard.
how do you see the deck against terra oath? i think that 2 tsabo web will help against a lot of powerful decks of this meta.
That matchup is pretty solid, but I've seen a recent increase in its popularity, so I'd certainly consider putting Tsabo's Web in the sideboard for my next tournament. I've also been having some trouble with mono blue control, and Tsabo's Web is great there as well.
Just stumbled on the channel, great content!
Thanks - glad you're enjoying it
Did you miss an attack with the gibbons the turn they became creatures? They shouldn’t have been summoning sick because you had controlled them as enchantments for more than one turn before.
Yes, that was a sloppy misplay, probably because I'm not in the habit of playing Hidden Gibbons. Thanks for pointing that out - I'll be much less likely to repeat it now.
@@PremodernPhil that’s the point of practice games, I suppose. Hidden Gibbons seems like it’s good against a lot of the decks in the format. Good include in your sideboard.
second game i see, it looks good!!!
Not to be weird but your voice is super soothing to listen to while watching magic game play! It’s so awesome
Thanks!
Tempting wurm is always tempting to play, love your brew with it
Heyo! I was your opp - neat seeing from your perspective! The g2 scoop definitely looked premature from this perspective but my gameplan vs rock is typically green mana denial instead of the board/card advantage, your manabase was really strong that game so I wasn't going to pull it off.
Thanks for the insight - always fun to play against you. My current list is down to just 10 main deck green spells from the 14 I had in this match, as the splash mana really has proven to be a weak point.
List?
Here's the current list as of 7/18/24: 4 Cabal Therapy 4 Tainted Wood 4 Tempting Wurm 2 Withered Wretch 4 Duress 4 Mishra's Factory 10 Swamp 3 Treetop Village 4 Llanowar Wastes 2 Graveborn Muse 4 Call of the Herd 4 Ravenous Rats 4 Funeral Charm 2 Snuff Out 3 Phyrexian Rager 2 Rancor 4 Engineered Plague 4 Hidden Gibbons 4 Naturalize 2 Soul Rend 1 Null Rod
Where would it be possible to find your decklist...thank you

This decklist is so interesting! I'm very surprised by the power of tempting wurm.
Thank you for the premodern content! Premodern is my favorite format.
Thank you for the premodern content!
Glad you're enjoying it
Wow. I didnt know that you had a YT channel. I always check your Rock decks as a reference hehe
Nice - hope you enjoy these
By the sound of your voice, you sound very fit and handsome 😘
lol, thanks
I don't know a lot about Premodern history. Did people have Squee in their Survival decks before Cyberpunker or did all green decks become survival decks after Cyberpunker perfected Madness? I remember playing premodern tournaments prior to 2018 where Rock and Elves didn't run Survival.
Squee has always been a staple in Survival decks, but what sets Survival Madness apart is that it's the only variant I know that runs multiples, aside from the occasional rogue Zombie Infestation / Survival deck. I actually started playing Premodern about a year ago, so I don't have first-hand knowledge about the early days of the format, but most current Rock decks do not run Survival while most current Elf decks do, though some actually run Food Chain instead. Anyway, on the topic of all green decks being Survival decks, that isn't really the case, though it is true that the best green cards are generally enchantments. There's Survival itself, but also Oath of Druids, Sylvan Library, and Pernicious Deed. All of these can serve as the strategic foundation of a deck, influencing all other downstream card choices during the deckbuilding process.
Nice game
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Great vid but can you remove the bg noise? It’s pretty easy with audacity :)
Thanks, I'll look into that for future videos.
Hi do you have the list uploaded? Did you feel better tham the traditional rock?
Here's the list I used in that league. There are pros and cons when compared to a more conventional rock deck, but this version feels like it's functioning a bit better. 9 Forest 5 Swamp 4 Llanowar Wastes 4 Wall of Blossoms 4 Cabal Therapy 1 City of Brass 4 Wall of Roots 1 Deranged Hermit 1 Squee, Goblin Nabob 1 Genesis 4 Duress 2 Recurring Nightmare 1 Bone Shredder 2 Natural Order 4 Birds of Paradise 1 Phantom Nishoba 1 Darigaaz's Caldera 1 Yavimaya Elder 4 Survival of the Fittest 1 Withered Wretch 1 Braids, Cabal Minion 1 Nantuko Vigilante 1 Mesmeric Fiend 1 Masticore 1 Graveborn Muse 3 Naturalize 1 Spike Feeder 2 Mesmeric Fiend 1 Uktabi Orangutan 1 Elvish Lyrist 4 Engineered Plague 2 Tsabo's Web 1 Faceless Butcher
Really interesting Deck and Games!
Thanks!

I really enjoy your premodern content. Bane of the Living... what a throwback. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
Great games!
Better to be lucky than good lol that top deck naturalize
I see a Premodern i click like!
Thanks for the vid! I have just a quick question related to G2. Why flashbacking Cabal Therapy naming Phyrexian Arena when you have 2x Naturalize?
Glad you liked the video. In regard to that Therapy decision, leaving the Arenas in the opponent's hand would have left me vulnerable if the opponent got a discard spell before casting both Arenas, and the opponent keeping Arena around for a few turns would probably win them the game. That was the main rationale - I also had very little time to mull it over, and Decree was far from useful at that point.
11 Swamp 4 Eternal Dragon 4 Deep Analysis 4 Phyrexian Arena 2 Barren Moor 4 Duress 4 Intuition 11 Plains 4 Phyrexian Furnace 4 Flooded Strand 4 Memory Lapse 3 Enlightened Tutor 4 City of Brass 4 Underground River 4 Polluted Delta 16 Island 4 Reflecting Pool 3 Diabolic Edict 4 Gerrard's Verdict 4 Vindicate 4 Swords to Plowshares 1 Masticore 4 Smother 4 Force Spike 4 Coastal Tower 4 Salt Marsh 4 Exalted Angel 4 Battle of Wits 4 Fact or Fiction 4 Sleight of Hand 4 Impulse 4 Caves of Koilos 4 Adarkar Wastes 4 Mishra's Factory 4 Faerie Conclave 4 Psychatog 4 Wasteland 4 Dust Bowl 3 Disenchant 4 Darkwater Catacombs 4 Mana Leak 4 Miscalculation 2 Powder Keg 4 Skycloud Expanse 4 Opt 4 Wrath of God 4 Standstill 4 Decree of Justice 4 Portent 3 Skeletal Scrying 4 Counterspell 4 Cunning Wish 4 Akroma's Vengeance 3 Annul 2 Secluded Steppe 4 Lonely Sandbar 4 Forbid 1 Seal of Cleansing 4 Meddling Mage 1 Shadow Rift 1 Skeletal Scrying 1 Enlightened Tutor 1 Disrupt 1 Teferi's Response 1 Blue Elemental Blast 1 Hibernation 1 Disenchant 1 Diabolic Edict 1 Annul 1 Misdirection 1 Stifle 1 Cremate 1 Dominate 1 Hatred

Do you mind sharing the decklist? :)

hi! great content! What's ur opinion about Sylvan Library in survi-welder? and white splash?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed watching. I think the white splash is definitely the way to go right now. Ray of Revelation is really powerful, and it costs very little to make the splash happen. Plus, with 8 fetch lands, Sylvan Library becomes much better than it would otherwise be. I'm happy to be running 3.
For reference, here's the full list in its current form: 4 Forest 4 Wooded Foothills 3 Sylvan Library 1 Squee, Goblin Nabob 1 Genesis 4 Birds of Paradise 2 Quirion Ranger 4 Survival of the Fittest 1 Uktabi Orangutan 2 Tsabo's Web 2 Gaea's Cradle 2 Shield Sphere 2 Wall of Roots 4 Tangle Wire 1 Yavimaya Granger 2 Winter Orb 1 City of Brass 1 Masticore 1 Phyrexian Furnace 4 Goblin Welder 2 Mountain 1 Anger 2 Triskelion 1 Phyrexian Colossus 1 Deranged Hermit 1 Monk Realist 4 Windswept Heath 1 Plains 1 Ray of Revelation 4 Goblin Sharpshooter 2 Naturalize 1 Pyroblast 1 Red Elemental Blast 1 Ravenous Baloth 1 Tormod's Crypt 1 Bottle Gnomes 1 Flametongue Kavu 2 Ray of Revelation 1 Auramancer
Hi, deck list please?
6 Forest 8 Swamp 4 Llanowar Wastes 4 Treetop Village 4 Wall of Blossoms 2 Yavimaya Elder 4 Phyrexian Rager 4 Deranged Hermit 2 Naturalize 4 Cabal Therapy 4 Duress 2 Chainer's Edict 3 Recurring Nightmare 4 Pernicious Deed 1 Volrath's Stronghold 2 Birds of Paradise 1 Dust Bowl 1 Vendetta 4 Engineered Plague 2 Withered Wretch 1 Dust Bowl 2 Naturalize 2 Phyrexian Arena 4 Ravenous Baloth
nice games... at the end why not recurring + birds for baloth instead of deranged? he has a lot of outs to kill you Incenerate, bolt, fireblast + lavamancer
You're right - that would have been a better play.
Why break standstill with duress there? Dust bowl gets you the board advantge.
At that point in the game, the opponent could still have come back with Parallax Tide + Chain of Vapor, removing all my lands, bouncing the squirrel with a copy of Chain, and then playing the Parallax Tide again. Duress + Therapy proved to be enough discard to outclass the card advantage from Standstill, so it worked out. The opponent may have burned through all the Parallax Tides by that point, but I didn't know how many were in the deck, and I couldn't afford to spend time mulling it over.
Congrats!
Thanks!
Nice game, well played!
