    My refer has stopped twice in the last few days. All components at the back of the refer test good. Tapping the panel that the defrost timer and cold control thermostat are mounted on fixes it until it sticks again. Which component, defrost timer or cold control thermostat, is the most common one to have bad contacts?

    Could you tell me what size hose tubing you used? I've read it's 5/8" but is that I.D or O.D? Also, do you need an adapter to connect that hose size to your garden hose?

    Thank you for this! After my Aunt died almost 12 years ago, I was removing her things from her car, and I found the yellow Garrity with black grip. I kept a lot of those everyday things of my Aunt's because she was a smart woman and I knew I was going to miss her a lot. I put the flashlight in my toolbox, never used it, but would come across if from time to time, "Oh yeah, Aunt Kathy's flashlight!" and I'd turn it on, and then turn it off and put it back. And then this week, having woken up at 3 am and getting bored, I wanted to sit up in bed and do some writing, but didn't want to turn on a lamp and disturb my puppy dog. In the morning, I got out the flashlight which was still working, and put it next to my bed. The next time I woke up in the wee hours I was so excited to grab the flashlight that I'd so wisely made available...........and, of course, it wouldn't turn on. In the morning, it took all of 15 seconds to conclude that it was disposable because nowhere did it say, "slide back" or "battery compartment". I did discover that I could peel back the grip, but then stopped. Thanks for giving me the courage to go all in!!!

    Model G4210 Update: If you are having trouble getting your printer to enter service mode, try removing the paper in the back and closing the panel. This did the trick for me. After many tries, it finally entered service mode.

    Thanks a million. I had the same problem yesterday with the same error code. Opened the back up and noticed the design flaw of the printer. The pads aren't really reusable and ordering such consumables in South Africa is a nightmare. I'll be doing something similar to what you did.

    Did you ever receive those ink pads and get them put in the printer?

  • @DOLRED
    @DOLRED6 ай бұрын

    Yes I did receive the generic pads and could have used them but I did NOT install them. I continue to use the metal drain pan I fabricated. As long as the ink hoses stay positioned, there is no problem to date. As I mentioned in the video, Ink Flushes cause most of the ink loss.

    I was able to access the inkpad tray finally. This is a terrible design even if you have the repair manual, which none of us has. I tried to clean the two pads from the top without taking the side cover off, but I dropped the big pad and could not reach the small inner pad. I cleaned both pads after removing the tray, but I think i connected the spring wrong. I attached the spring for the tray on the long arm hanging down at the back of the tray, but i think it gets connected near the front of the tray as you are looking into the unit from the side. I couldn't see much from the video. Can someone where the spring should be connected on the tray. I'm still getting an E8, and E3 error........UGH!

  • @johnkosick1464
    @johnkosick146410 ай бұрын

    OK......... the spring was on the wrong part. It goes on the little hook near the front left side of the tray looking in from the side. I tried a RESET for the E8 error several times, but I still have the problem. I also get an E2 or E3 error too. Nothing is jammed in the paper tray. Ver frustrating!!!

    The timer shown in this video was assembled (or was reassembled) incorrectly. The two white vertical spacers should be one on each side of the center contact. The two outer contacts should both be "outboard" of the white spacers. Easy fix. The spacer is there to prevent the center contact from being able to touch both outer contacts at once (which would make the compressor and heater run at the same time). Looks like this unit has the left and center terminals incorrectly squeezed together by the white spacers. The leftmost contact needs to be moved outboard of the leftmost white vertical spacer.

    Thanks for the video… I think mine may have shorted out or the battery burned out…. it came apart and the batteries fell out -- I put it back together with the old batteries and it went on for a brief moment…. then went off… I think the batteries may have been bad… tried to put it back together with new batteries but it didn’t go on…. it was tricky to know where the positives / negatives were supposed to go and line up…. So unfortunately I think my garrity flashlight may be toast…. Tim

    Yes, I bought my Larson Door in 1989 custom door size is 36.15 w x 84.25 h; full-size colonizer door. Sadly, the hinges broke 4 of the 5 (not like your pictures no longer carry those hinges). I order rail kits, 36.5 x 85.0 inside rail (Custom) tall, which weren't bad prices, but they came with 4 hinges. I can add 5th one in the middle "32.5 space"? If can? (?) The wind gets around here, 45-100 mph wind gusts. And had reached 148.7 MPH+ tornado/hurricane seasons? What do you think.??? Just "Mount it" or add a hinge, then mount?

    Wish you showed how you actually removed the battery cover off the remote & not just the “result” of the cover being off already. (Like showing the solution w/out showing what the problem is). Tried multiple times & nothing works. There’s prob some kind of sticky dried up gunk built up in the clips throughout the years being in a busy household. Went through all the comments: rubber gloves, butter knife, edge of the table, fingernails, etc & nothing has worked. When I used the butter knife I ruined it where I tried it. I GIVE UP! Please, make another video showing beginning to end. Or if some1 else out there can make a video to open this thing, I will be forever grateful! This is the only video I found that talks about this horribly designed remote control cover. Worst design ever made! Do better Sony! I’m so frustrated! 😤🤬🤯

    I know this is an OLD video, but I have one of these in a second kitchen, house built in 88-89. Probably doesn't help it that it is rarely run. Never any leaks but got ready to run it - and no lights, no power. First thing checked the circuit breakers, they are on. I'm hesistant to pull it out of the cabinet - it's on a wood floor that I don't want to gouge unless I know what I'm looking for. Any ideas? THANKS

  • @DOLRED
    @DOLRED Жыл бұрын

    In order to pull it out--use a "Pad." Such things as cardboard or a piece of junk vinyl sheet goods will protect the floor. Just get it under the front feet and pull forward until you can reach the back ones. The motor sits close to the floor as well. You have to disconnect and drain the lines and disconnect the electrical. Once out, make temp arrangements to test it. Put the drain hose in the sink...etc..

  • @used2befast

    On my GE fridge, this is behind the plastic panel on top where the freezer and fridge temp setting (and light bulb) are. You can see the part where he turns it with a screw driver once that panel is off. I used a black sharpie to put a little dot on one part of the wheel. That way you can see if it is rotating over time and see if it makes it through the defrost on/off part of the circle. If it gets hung and does not rotate, then 100% this part is the issue. Turns out mine was rotating fine and my issue was the defrost temp sensor was messed up (that is clipped onto the coils behind a panel in the back of the freezer on my model).

    Well, it didn’t work for me as I’m not mechanically inclined so the couple of small parts that flew out on the floor once I was able to separate of which I did do slowly-would never be able to figure out where these parts go. It was interesting that there were 3 Duracell double A batteries in there that were clumped w/battery acid at the ends & the connectors were fused w/battery acid as well & one of the connectors with the squiggly end where the minus end would be connected was one of the parts that came off with a red wire attached to it. Also interesting that the batteries were dated 2016 which means the batteries were packed before that so this flashlight I would say lasted for like 10 years intermittently used as I have other flashlights. Hate to see it go but I’ll get identical ones on eBay or Amazon. And you do need to peel the grip off but I only peeled it off half up to the indentation in the middle but it doesn’t matter now.

    Very informative video. I have the yellow Garrity w/black grip that recently went out. I’ve had it for years using it sporadically as I have other flashlights & always was curious about dismantling it to see how the battery set up is & if new batteries would be able to be replaced in there. Always liked it as the beam is rather bright. I suppose the bulb could probably be replaced as well. That used to have to very often be done on the old flashlights. Since I guess it was designed to be a throw away, why not try to operate on it. I’m going to forego taking the grip off & see what happens. I’ve seen these still sold on EBay & Amazon but I’m going to try & fix the one I have.

    Mike Prell had some good thoughts too. But one thing I have found with my short experience with American Flyer, the rail cars wheels can be adjusted, or also maladjusted simply by moving those wheels on their axle. This means if your wheels are to wide the other side can clip things it should not, to narrow they will get bumped off the track by the inner edge wheel guide rail.
