I wish writers and narrators would stop making Hispanics have accents. Most of us raised in English speaking states do not speak English with an accent. I am Puerto Rican, born and raised in New York, am fluent in Spanish and English, and the only accent I have is barely a New York one as i moved to California some time ago. 95% of Hispanics I know are the same. I get that it's to distinguish characters, but it gets old. And if they're enlisted, they are more likely to curse up a storm, in both languages, than to speak with a Spanish accent.

Great story, pretty impressed with the author he was either prior service that has been stationed at jblm or did a fair amount of research on the area and units. Jblm was my last duty station before getting out and he was pretty accurate with the details even included my old unit in the story.

Well, at some point I just said screw it and left it on as noise. I'm as lost as a fart in a whirlwind. Too many bases, squads, companies, battalions, navy seals, coast guard, national guard, different states , countries, and hundreds of names it seems and a non expressive AI voice. I thought it was a good book at first but holy crap...lol

1:25:00 and the infection still hasnt kicked off. We only get teaser scenes of it. Very slow burn for a zombie book with so many competing characters its hard to care about any of them because you're not going to see them for another 45 minutes to an hour.

Like others, the AI English is ghastly, ruins what otherwise would be a good story.
Something that helps ... since I listen on a PC I open another window in KZread. With less volume, I add background music to the story.
