I still highly recommend flicker with Genku since flickering Genku will allow you to get more than 3 tokens per turn. I also highly recommend Journey to Nowhere, Detention Sphere and other similar effects. They are especially strong with essence reliquary as they essentially work as 1 permanent exile per turn without costing any cards and they also are extra triggers for Genku from returning to your hand, you can also exile your own creatures with them and then flicker them in order to get extra etb effects and allow you to keep valuable creatures safe from board wipes, of course this also gets you more Genku triggers graveyard. But yes running removal like that will essentially give you extremely high synergy removal pieces for the deck. I personally wouldn’t run any anthem effects since Genku does that already and you don’t really want to make too many tokens through other means since Genku only works with nontoken permanents. Also another really fun piece of tech is the flip sagas from Neon Dynasty since those leave the battlefield when transforming, and they try also can be returned for extra value if you flicker or bounce them as creatures. Inventive Iteration, and Restoration of Eiganjo are especially strong as they act as ramp, graveyard recursion and more bounce synergy.

I suggest effects like liquimetal torque to turn imskir into an artifact so he can throw himself. If you have mycosynth lattice you can recast him quite quickly for a dozen card draw

Arna Kennerud from mh3 fits nicely in an Eriette deck especially if she is out to see the token copies of the permanents being made, it means opponents will need to work twice as hard to return their permanents. Throw in a few good equipment while youre making copies and youll get out of control really fast

I like that we're getting to the point where there's enough lazavs with similar design space that you could theoretically run them all in a build and not have it be awful. I've been using Inquisitor Greyfax as my clue commander, but I'm tempted to go off the beaten path and jump to this Lazav for a hybrid mix of clues and reanimator.

Heyo! First time viewer here, really solid production value on the video, and the sound is crisp. Keep it up! That being said, I do find it a bit frustrating not being able to read the entirety of cards when the word "Alternative" is splat on top of it at the bottom. Otherwise solid interesting video :)

Since it triggers off permanents you can bounce lands to trigger his ability. It's really easy to bounce islands with moonfolk cards from kamigawa.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on running this as a spellslinger-y polymorph style deck that can use fetch lands and bounce spells to generate tokens with the commander, then cast spells like standard Polymorph or Mass Polymorph to cheat out much more impactful creatures than the ones Genku makes. I already have a Jeskai list with that theme, but Kykar is a little too strong for my playgroup, so the deck doesn't see much play.

Oboro, Palace In The Clouds is an auto include if you have the budget for it. Actually, it’s about 50% cheaper than I thought so I’d even say drop Misty Rainforest for it since they’re around the same price. Thassa, Deep-Dwelling is also a no brainer to me.

I was actually love this point, but my tweak would be "put in a basic lands, then the next one put in a card that draws you more cards, now alternate" And get people away from these 31 land no draw monstrosities people be playing

This isn't really relevant to him as a commander, but I've slotted him into the new Arna Kennerud commander and he's pretty cool there. When you have an aura-ed up creature die, he can just bring the whole woodland critters out since he'll count each nontoken permanent, and then having his activated ability is an easy way to modify creatures for Arna's trigger. I can see a pretty cool deck being built around him! If I didn't find my azorius bliss with Boromir, Gondor's Hope, I would totally give him a shot because I love off-the-beaten-path dudes like this.

I think Boromir is terrific. The only reason I didn't include it is because I wanted to try and lean into the "you don't have to care if your creatures die" idea.

Make it an artifact deck, use cost reductors or 0 cost artifacts to do a cloudstone curio combo for one wincon then you can use artifacts that give value when sacrificed , intruder alarm paradise Mantle of course , make infinite mana to infinitely sac your commander to Altar of Dementia. You can do the same with Sai Master Thopterist except Genku w/ white can give you added protection and you can add soul sisters for lifegain when creating all these creatures
