I hope their programs are better this upcoming season. It seems like the more classical style (like Doctor Zhivago) fits them better than what they did this year (wicked game).

I think Klimova/Ponomarenko's CD is better is some aspects. For example, the quick turns in the pattern, V/M waists are separated further than K/P. K/P's pelvises are so close together which is just TEXTBOOK for this CD.

Это обязательный танец, он для всех одинаковый 😂 до появления короткого, а затем ритмического танцев, спортсмены в этой дисциплине выступали с тремя программами - обязательный танец (одинаковый на весь сезон для всех! То есть на ЧМ, ЧЕ, ОИ все пары танцевали один и тот же обязательный танец), оригинальный танец (с определенной темой на сезон) и произвольный танец (абсолютно любой, на выбор спортсменов)

разве весь сезон все пары танцевали один и тот же обязательный танец? Их на каждый сезон было 4ре. Их все пары тренировали, потом перед состязаниями жеребьевкой решали какие будут исполнять. Может первые годы, во времена Линичук и танцевали все 4 на всех состязаниях, но во времена Торвил и Дина их сократили до 3х, а потом только два (их этих 4х) танцевали довольно долго. И на ЧЕ и ЧМ могли быть разные танцы, а на этапах гран-при только по одному какому то исполняли. Ну а теперь вот несчастный кусочек в ритм танец вставляют - и совсем разучились их танцевать. При чем все.

Этот вальс поставили для Климовой-Пономаренко в 1986-1987г. и он оказался насколько прекрасным, настолько же и сложным - требует виртуозного владения коньком, там чуть не так и сразу вот эта видимая легкость, искрящаяся воздушность и скорость теряется, хотя смотрится вроде бы и просто все. Судьи и международная федерация ФК тогда настолько впечатлились, что этот вальс включили в список "обязательных танцев", то бишь его рисунок стал эталонным и исполнялся позже как "школа". Музыка, кстати может быть разной, сохраняется только темп и собственно ритм вальса, а вот хореографический рисунок одинаковый. Получивший свое собственное имя "Золотой вальс" включен в золотой фонд программ ФК. Этот список вот так и формировался, когда кто-то придумывал и исполнял какой-нибудь танец абсолютно совершенно. Золотой вальс вполне официально считается сложнейшим из обязательных танцев, показателем мастерства и до сих пор многие танцевальные пары полагают его таковым, даже при современных изменившихся правилах, разрешенных поддержках и т.п. Там именно очень сложные шаги, требуется безупречное чувство музыки, отточенность каждого движения и идеальная скатанность пары, то что собственно и делает катание "фигурным" и именно танцами, а не чем-то еще. То бишь Тесса и Скотт исполняют в 2010г. тот же самый "золотой вальс", но уже как обязательный танец (хотя в 2010г. уже вроде были новые правила, то бишь именно тогда они его как показательное выступление танцевали). Сейчас танцоры в ФК обязательную программу не катают, но вот Вирчу и Мойер свою первую олимпиаду выиграли еще по старым правилам, поэтому умеют исполнять эту самую "школу", что и продемонстрировали.

Даа,все познаётся в сравнении : изящная Марина- олицетворение балетной грации и безупречной техники скольжения и Тэсса с руками -лопатами, негнущимся торсом, одинаковым выражением лица и одинаковыми ,незапоминающимися танцами.

Оригинал 1987 года лучше всех. Наталья Дубова придумала,а Марина и Сергей исполнили Венский вальс с оценкой 6.0 за артистизм на мировом первенстве в США. И обыграли в этом разделе Бестемьянову и Букина. Хотя в итоге у Марины и Сергея было серебро. Тесса и Скотт это другое время исполнение тоже шикарное,но это все-таки копия. На "Трофи Лалик" были первыми. После мирового чемпионата 1988 г в Венгрии танец Марины и Сергея стал обязательным и получил название "Золотой вальс".

Both teams have good flow and unison. Where the difference lies is the edge quality. Russian edges are somewhat more shallow than Virtue and Moir.

These two to my estimation are the next VM in figure skating. The same chemistry, the same connection. And even their off ice dynamics are carbon copies of VM. I have shifted my interest to them. I wish them all the luck in their performances. Just be true to each other and to your fans kids!

True! So far there are technically better ones, but do they engage your emotions? Do they surprise and delight you? It is like having 12 sets of Golden Disches and Goblets and no food or wine in it. The Joy, passion, and sensuality, that Tessa and Scott display is overwhelmingly touching. <3

@@lizbowling3703 well, compulsories were DANCES (all of them). And since ISU terminated this part of the competition, teams don't dance anymore. It's become acrobatic on ice instead of ice dancing (IMHO)

This is very mature, sophisticated music and it's a style of dance that demands precision, sharpness, quick strong feet and attitude. Unfortunately, the team is not yet at the stage of development where this is a good fit, they are trying hard but that is precisely what it looks like ... trying hard. Choreographically I think Igor could have done better for the team.
