I just got a torrified LM-1 today and it's amazing. I can't stop playing it (I'm writing this with my feet, thank you very much). And it sounds EXACTLY like the torrified banjo in this video. If you like that sound, that is exactly what you will get from Warren. And it's LOUD too. Louder than some of my banjos with full size tone rings. Don't sleep on Yates Banjos

I wonder what a pure copper, pure gold, pure carbon steel, pure other metal ring sounds like. It would be a cool experiment.

Great video. I’ve been working on my own stringed instruments (mostly guitars) for 40 years, and I wholeheartedly agree with everything you’ve stated. I also learned a few things too. Your diagrams and props are great. Nice work. All the best with your business. I’m going to check out your web site. Cheers.

Thank you for the comparison between the drum dial and dial indicator! This completely explains to my machinist/engineer mind what the drum dial is actually measuring! You explained the process so clearly. Thank you so much!!

Yates banjos to my mind are the best sounding banjos on this planet, I say this even though I have never heard every banjo. I listen to Warren’s advice on anything to do with setting up banjos as he must be right being he is the greatest builder.
