I thought of Hershiser but couldn't shake the feeling I was just thinking of him being a Gold Glove winner. Settled for Greinke and got a 44: Bobo Newsom (0.1), Jorge Posada (6), Charlie Keller (0.1) Gus Weyhing (0.06), Julio Franco (0.8), Wes Ferrell (0.05) Jim Perry (0.5), Greinke (37), Chance (0.4) I also forgot Quinn. I feel like I've done that before with him when there's a stat involved rather than just a franchise combo. And I passed on Wade Boggs top middle for the same reason I passed on Hershiser. At least I got all nine this time!

The 1987 Indians team was hyped because they had a good offense in 1986, maybe overachieved some, that masked a very weak pitching staff, bullpen included. It did not work out in '87 to say the least.

Herb Score was hit in the eye early in his career which essentially stalled it. To his credit, Score blames an arm injury that really ended his career over the eye injury. He only had 55 wins. Any one around the age of 40 and older will remember him as a legendary radio announcer for the Indians. I believe he talks about his career in Terry Pluto's Curse of Rocky Colavito. An essential for any Cleveland fan.

    70. Not a lot of options on the bottom/right, but some interesting ones. Henderson is the only A or Padre with 3000 hits who also played for the Dodgers, so obviously I can only go 8/9 on that. Since Henderson is the obvious top choice for Oakland, he should go to San Diego, where both Gwynn and Winfield are better known. So I had to decide which of the five Philadelphia A's is the best play (and only Eddie Collins is really known for playing for them). There are three Orioles with 509 homers who played for the Dodgers, but I had to use Thome for MIN, and Murray is a better play in the bottom right than is Pujols (and a higher score in BAL than Robinson). Jim Gentile 0.2 / Bones Ely 0.04 / Nap Lajoie 2 Brian Falkenborg 0.005 / Bill Krueger 0.05 / Rickey Henderson 6 Frank Robinson 23 / Jim Thome 31 / Eddie Murray 7

    8. Was a 1 until the bottom right, where there is only one option that also made it to the Dodgers. Luckily, that column features more options in the other two rows: like a guy who hit 32 homers almost a century ago, and one who played one year for the Angels and is almost forgotten amidst a bunch of more recent options. 0 - Ghost Everyone of these are “go to” picks for me in stat or team grids. So I guessed the USA column. The only one I was afraid of was Gavvy Cravath. I use him a lot, so my thinking was, since he’s not in my mental list of “born outside the USA” he must have been born in the US. I got a 5, but could've done better on this one: Jay Witasick (0.05), Damian Moss (0.1), Charlie Gettig (0.009) Liván Hernández (0.3), Armando Benítez (4), Bubba Trammell (0.05) Dustan Mohr (0.09), Bill Friel (0.02), Babe Melton (0.005) Trammell and Mohr were risky guesses for me (due to the OF positions being specific ones), but they paid off. Still, I thought of several better answers elsewhere, the most impactful ones being for center square as Benítez was higher than I'd hoped. For that square, I passed on Kris Benson (worth 2) and K-Rod (0.5), while not being sure of Zeile (0.9) and David Segui (0.6). I had many slightly better alternates for Moss, Gettig, and Melton, but they wouldn't have moved the needle much at all. Zeile and Ochoa remain players I really need to study more.

I fell behind on these. That's why I haven't commented in a while. I'll try to do so on your other recent videos as well. Anyway, got a 105 on this grid: John D'Acquisto (0.03), Félix Rodríguez (0.01), Al Oliver (1) Bob Johnson (0.09), X, Roy Sievers (0.5) Harry Byrd (1), Pat Zachry (2), Frank Howard (0.2) Not for the first time, I narrowed my options for a square down to multiple players, then proceeded to go with the only wrong one! For mid right, I chose Sam Rice over Heinie Manush and Goslin. I had Sievers as a safe pick, but wanted to use him the spot below as I figured he'd work better there than Howard. Insult to injury, Howard worked just as well. I left the center blank, as I wasn't sure enough Jim Delahanty worked there. Best one I was sure of was Bret Boone.
