Hi, I'm interested in buying a JD with narrow front wheels (MT or MTN). Do you have a video where one can see how narrow it can do a U-turn. Would be fun to run the tractor in circles (with kids on).

She is on great shape, sounds real nice, strong wee tractors for their size, we had an 52 M on the farm when i was a lad and i remember we worked the heck out of it,unfortunately, but it never complained a peep, as u may well know those 2 banger Johnny poppers were as tough as u can get, thanks and cheers bro.

Yeh its only a two bottom plow ,but those two cylinders are singing or hypnotizing the driver ha ha . I knew a farmer who had a 49 j.d. his son rolled it over one night on the hill across the road from my house many years ago . The tractor caught fire and the fire department finally showed up and put the fire out . The farmer resurrected the tractor and used it a long time afterward ! For baling hay and used the pto and a long belt to run a silage blower . It was quite a tractor 🚜

Slow down a gear and slide the drawbar over so the plow takes the proper land and the wheel of the tractor is in the furrow instead of up on the plowed ground. You can even adjust the hitch on the plow to make it take the proper land. I can see in the video the hitch on the plow is incorrectly adjusted. Frame 3.44 clearly shows the hitch and 5 holes in the hitch bar on the plowed ground side. Move the this hitch bar over until there is only 0-1 hole showing and it will work properly. Or consult the operators manual on the plow to learn how to adjust it. We farm with old equipment and adjusting it properly is part of the fun. We would never bounce a tractor around like is shown in this video and make such a mess out of a field. Watch other peoples videos to learn how to plow, properly.

The M John Deere is nearly impossibly small by today's standards but they sure would snatch those plows through the ground. I know. We had one and I've done exactly what you just saw in 3rd gear. No joke. But notice also, the rear wheel weights are on. That helped a lot!

I was running 18.4x34s in this video it would normally spin out at the 200 ft mark I pulled it in a 7500 lbs class once and it pulled 230 with those tires and the draw bar at 20 inches for all those classes. Now I run 18.4x38s and have been 230 or more every weight class even with the draw bar set down to 16 inch’s some times depending on the track or class rules

We had a 60 on the farm sometime in the mid-50s, my dad traded it in for a 720. At the time he thought we could not afford to keep the 60 but he always wished he would have kept the 60 over the old A as it had power steering and live pto.
