After a lot of study I learned that bits cause the suffocating, nose bleeding breakdowns in racing. They need to ban horse racing.

Notice the horses tail. It’s a HUGE sign that it’s not comfortable! And i HATE people who use the wip that aggressively. I don’t claim this person in the equestrian world

I don't think riding with or without bit is the problem here. The problem is the pressure the hands of the rider puts on the rein, imagine if instead of the mouth that same pressure was applied to the nose of the horse, that could also cause extreme pain if it happens for years it might as well break it. What I'm saying is that both bit and bitless can be hurtful for a horse if you put that much pressure on the reins, so just be mindful of your hands

I’m at a riding school with bits right now and I’m very scared of hurting the horses but I sometimes get in trouble when my instructor tells me to shorten the reigns and I don’t make them short enough. As soon as I get the opportunity I will try going bitless.

I ride western and use an o-ring snaffle bit. However I don’t pull hard on the rains or keep the rains tight I am vary gentle and giving to my horses mouth. She has never thrown her head or acted like the bit was hurting her. So please don’t say all bits are bad it’s mostly the person using them that causes the pain. If we were more soft on the bits this would not happen and the horse wouldn’t be in pain.

Listen up, everyone. Bits aren't cruel if you use them right. Which makes me really disagree with this video. I've seen a horse flip over with pressure with a bitless bridle, sometimes you have to use a bit. Stop spreading lies about how abusive we are if we use bits, whips or spurs. Yes they can be abusive, but not if used correctly.

It's very rare saw soft hands and a horse without noseband and martingale. The pressure in a mouth it's always more or less painful. And if you use a noseband or martingale, it for sure only painful. Bitless bridles also can use gently but muzzle it's a better spot than the mouth. Horses are driven with the body not with the hands. Horses without a bit it's more collaborative and relaxed.

  • @nivsoi

The bit squashes the tongue, the horse responds by opening the mouth to try to release the pressure. And rather than looking for the cause of the issue, the rider puts a nose band on the horse to force the mouth closed, I cannot imagine the pain.

I was a hopeful for pentathlon junior olympics 2018, I am first and foremost an equestrian and have ridden since was young. The other sports came after, when I started I was absolutely disgusted. They just throw these people on horses and over fences with 0 training. I don't do that anymore, maybe I can make it to the olympics eventing lmao

I don’t wanna argument but bits r not cruel it is only when u pull and proper English riders barely touch the bit light contact the horse barely feels anything also bit less bridles can be worse with pressure on their nose which will annoy them more than having a bit. Also the foam is concentration if u wanna argue an Olympic trainer told me that, and that is true. I also get put on horses that if u pull they run off and guess what they haven’t ran off with me, yes I agree some riders aren’t that nice to their horse and pull I know but I am trying to say ITS NOT ALL RIDERS

this makes people who wear spurs, use a whip or bit extremely bad.. I ride with a bit not to yank its in there mouth or hurt them but for a learning tool. This makes me mad bc not everyone treats there animal like this.

By seeing this video, it is clear that you know nothing about horses and the sport. You are calling us bad riders for falling of? I bet you can’t even mount a horse. Yes - some of these clips and pictures are abuse, but you must remember that not all of us are abusing our horses. “Riders” who abuse their horses, should not have horses, they should not ride. It’s great if you are against horse abuse, I bet a lot of the riders are too (incl. me) - but if you don’t know what you are talking about, clearly it is just your own opinion or “knowledge” about these horses, you shouldn’t make a video and call every rider out. But guess what, not everyone abuses their horses. Most riders are caring for their horses, like it is their child. So don’t come at every rider in the world, and telling us that WE are abusing our horses and that WE are bad riders for falling of and that WE should stop riding and completely stop the sport.
