If I use Quickbooks Desktop internally, strictly for my business books...no payroll, no checks, no banks, no online anything....can I continue using ??? I do not want my books online, I backup regularly to an external drive. I do not want Quickbooks in my business... help!

I use mine for the same purpose. No payroll, checks or anything online. But I’ve got to upgrade, is there an edition I can still purchase outright & use without having to do the monthly or yearly fees??

Since the latest qbo update, the sales tax liability report lists the state as well as the counties. I was wondering if I need to add the numbers together or is the state portion included with the county numbers?

I just have a question about the previous claim for sick leave and annual leave. Is it normal to keep deducting the previous sick/annual leave from the beginning balance and from the accrued on YTD? I got confused because, on my paycheck, my previous sick/annual leave claim still shows that was being deducted on YTD. So, every paycheck I lose the number of sick/annual leave balances. QB Online Payroll is extremely frustrating! I am used to being able to make corrections to my payroll and this software doesn't allow me to do that. I have to contact the help desk and they put in a ticket to the back office - offline - payroll corrections team. I haven't ever been allowed to talk to the people actually making these corrections to MY books. The first time I did this, it took 9 months to get the correction made correctly. The second time I did this, they made the correction in the wrong year! and now I am trying to get them to reverse this. It is holding up my tax return. Three different people have assured me that this reversal request was put in with high priority. Today I find out that a request for reversal has never been made! If you run payroll - don't do it through QB Online.
I need to know about how the payroll taxes are filed. Will QBO file the payroll taxes itself? How does that work?? Do you have any videos on Payroll tax. That is more my concern. Thanks!
Hi Jessica, that really depends on the level of payroll that you have and the tax entity you were referring to. State entities and other entities are going to vary. That being said, if you have federal taxes, a lot of those are going to be filed for you if you have the right level of QuickBooks. If you have 401(k) or other add-ons/deductions, most of those may not be transferred for you. The best option for this would be to take a look at the tax entities that you would be linking to your QuickBooks payroll and talk to us or your accountant about how this would work. Is there a way to have unbilled costs that vary each month automatically charged to a card on a sales receipt?

Turn on the setting to automatically invoice unbilled activities Go to Settings ⚙, then select Account and settings. Select Advanced, then, in the Automation, select Edit ✎. Turn on the Automatically invoice unbilled activity switch. Set the invoice schedule and notification settings you prefer. Note: QuickBooks creates the invoices the night of the scheduled date. Hi Katie B, Awesome Video. I like your style. I don't like using scripts either so your delivery made me feel right at home. I am very familiar with SAP B1 but just started a job where they use the QB 2022 Manufacturing desktop version. They do a lot of down payments when customers place orders and a lot of Vendor prepayments when order supplies. Do you have a video on how to properly enter in such transactions? The way they are handling it now is to create invoices using the Sales order number as the invoice number and applying the down payments. They do same thing for POs - Enter them in as invoices then apply the cash. So, obviously lots of issues as inventory is never going to be accurate, nor will AP or AR. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Bill! Would love to get on a call and go over this, but basically I usually suggest doing a sales receipt for a deposit and having a deposit line item linked to either AR or an unearned revenue account, depending on your accounting basis. You use a deposit item so it doesn’t change inventory counts. Then, once you create invoice add that line back on there as a negative line item. There are other ways, but I have always preferred this one. For AP you can do something similar with checks. The key is the item. I use deposit so I can report on it. 3:17central 12/30/23 We have a small plumbing business. My fiancé does the yucky part & I do all the back end. About 3 years ago I was thrown in the desk position and had to wing it from there. I’ve never had time to actually learn or take a coarse on QBO so I taught myself the basics in order to create invoices,Receipts and we pay a accountant to do the rest including categorizing, payroll etc I know we should not be paying someone every month when it’s all right in front of me at my desk. Recently (8-10 months) I have fell behind due to unplanned illness that has created a very hectic schedule, days I’m not able to move very quickly or focus due to overwhelming pain. On top of that I had lose ends on my personal end that needed my full attention in order to get done before any deadlines come about. With that said we obviously are at the end of literally & I have 3-4 months worth of invoices to create, create & create a paid invoice also 15-20 clients that need billed/invoiced for work done in November, December 2023. I guess what I’m asking how can I give myself 3-5 days more of 2023 to enter all this before switching to 2024. And after I complete 2023 I would pay any amount of $$ for you to pass on any tips for QBO & your knowledge to make our business more organized on the back end. I know I’m asking the impossible with only 8 hours till it’s 2024🤦🏻♀️😩 and I apologize for the “novel” I just wrote to you! I have been watching your videos & I am very confident that you are my answer to my huge problem I’ve created. I feel frozen on where to even begin at this point. The first thing I need to figure out is how to set our QBO to switching to 2024 tonight at midnight. Is that even possible? If you can reach out to me this evening before the clock strikes 12 not only would you be my hero forever I truly mean that from the bottom of my heart, but you would give me hope again & I may be able to actually sleep at night again & stop wanting to give up on everything bc I see the light at the end of a loooong tunnel. The business is at a 5 year mark of being open and the last 2 years he has grown significantly but it’s still ran like it was that 1st year of business when you could do a weeks worth of work in a hour or less at the desk. So the growth of the company in the middle of my life changing health issues has made things very difficult to stay current on. I know I am also doing billing and all the other things that comes with owning a business, the longest, most time consuming way due to my lack of knowledge of QB’s. You think you talk a lot??? 😉 I think I got you beat there. So sorry to ask for help in a ridiculous amount of time 🙏🏼

Thank you for this video! You have been the 1st person to get close to our needs in construction. We are a small bridge subcontractor in Mt Airy, NC. We speacialize in bridge SIP metal decking installation & welding only. We have a total of 15-17 employees, however, we work in NC, SC, & VA. We use QB Enterprise Solutions 23.0 via Right Networks. I feel like this is possibly more than we need and it can get very expensive for less than 20 employees. Do you suggest looking elsewhere, cheaper, than Right Networks or maybe is there a suggestion on a better (less complicated) version of QB?

Hi Katie! Our company will soon be moving to QuickBooks and we will also be using Amazon as a point of sale. Linking the two seems relatively easy, but how do you link the company's transactional site to QuickBooks? Does it take a third party app? I was told that QuickBooks inventory management is basic and that it is necessary to consider again a third party app for more efficient inventory management, particularly if the company has a transactional site. Is this true and if so, what application would you recommend? Thanks!
Hello! There are some different options. Commerce in product is possible, but if it doesn’t do what you need there are tons of other options. Frustrated by this latest QuickBooks update because I am not able to attach supporting documents anymore to the invoices that the customer can see. Really hoping they address this over at QuickBooks.

This seems to be a software wide issue they are aware of as I've seen it on their forum. Quickbooks support makes it seems as if its possible they may not add this feature back. I can't understand why they would do that since a lot of industries and businesses need the ability to send support documents with an invoice. Hoping they fix it or we will have to find another solution. This weeks billing was a nightmare. @@CertumSolutions
