Just saw this. This is exactly what I figured out on my own (big accomplishment, I know....). I use the crepe rubber cleaning stick so shave off a few passes, clean, and repeat.

Beautiful, i like that you used smaller stitches so you could make it more elegant than most diy leather straps. I want to learn to do this so i can make dress straps for dress watches. This looks awesome 👏

I liked this handle idea but I added a "Victorinox 93mm Marlin Spike Tool" type needle on the end, for sewing heavy fabrics and leather.

Hi MK Leathers, Did you use oil based dye? Do you use any top coats for your projects to make them water resistant? I saw that you used some kind of leather wax to buff, will that be enough because I feel sometimes that top coats can change the color of the project. Do you have any good wax to recommend to make the leather shiny and relatively water resistant?

Depends. Some premium leathers I get in 2-3 oz (1mm or less) for more rough styles 4-5 oz

Hey! Thanks for the videos, really appreciate them! Would it be possible to get the name of the tool that finished the edges? Was it a groover? Thanks 😊

If you mean the white flat tool that would be a slicker or burnisher (you can get the in various sizes and shapes) To mark the stitching line I used creasing tool. In that model (Seiwa) you can indeed change the tip and mount grover to actually cut the grove in the leather. Cheers

Not at all. You need rather basic tools and the overall pattern is quite simple.
