I watched a film called "Shootgun Wedding" where the acting was very, very bad, I couldn't even watch it until the end because she acted very excessively and wasn't very funny, to this day I'm still confused about why she could be a film artist?

I dont think shes a bad actor. But she made her bed in terms of her REPUTATION as one. She chose a shallow pop career and to become more famous as J-Lo to the point where it's very hard to see her as anything else. And though shes not BAD - she terrific in Selena and Out of Sight - shes not a chameleon and therefore its hard to see her as eeally ANYTHING other than J-Lo. And as the J-Lo character she is more famous than any song, role or film she has ever had a hand in creating. Still empathise with her here even though I myself am a just-surviving dirt poor musician/writer and should probably resent the pity party. Shes lived a fortunate life many would dream of - but whether you're a millionaire or a muso lucky to get even a shitty market gig - the creative arts is a hard life of constant rejection. I probably take it better than she does because I have no expectation or want for anything other than to live semi-comfortably off my work. But what shes facing here is that shes aging, she'll never get to the heights of her earlier years as a pop star and her attempt to find legitimacy as an actor is a near impossible road for the reasons I listed above. Shes not an idiot. Probably her worst fears about the future of her career are being confirmed in this moment; she traded what could have been a decent acting career in for a mediocre music career and didnt have the extreme talent in EITHER field to ever be considered a legend in the same way other women - some even younger than like her like Gaga - already are. It must be hard to work your whole life for something only to find younger contempories achieving what she's strived for for 30 years.
