I have walked this area when i lived in Germany. I stood in the spot where Karl Kellner bailed out of his disabled Sherman and perished. I also walked the avenue of approach of the Pershing and have stood on the spit where the Panther was destroyed. It was indeed humbling to walk in the steps of History........

God bless sailors. You couldnt of gotten me on a ship during ww2 by gunpoint. There are so many examples of the terror they faced, like during pearl harbor they got trapped inside the ships hull when it keels over and could only bang on the walls in hope rescuers would save them, the lexington sinking in which 200+ crew were eaten by sharks, getting kamikazed, or seeing the trail of a torpedo right before it blows a hole in the only thing keeping you above water. WW2 was insanity

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" Dr. King said in front of 250,000 people. It's unfortunate to know that Dr. King never saw an America truly free of segregation, but it's important to let his words live on. Honestly, I think Dr. King has an incredible way with words, and should be remembered for his efforts during the Civil Rights Movement and the advancement of equal rights among Americans

I'm 24 years old and I am one of the many who are tired of the racism that is happening in the world what happened to the equality that Martin Luther King JR, Rosa Parks, and a few others fought so hard for; America Was A Great Nation Once That Politics Have Ruined; Let Freedom Ring Once More

  • @rekhavmenon1507

Racism does not exist in America. If you wear a suit and tie, expensive jewelry and drive a luxury car you will be treated with respect. If you live in a poor neighborhood homeless in the street, you will be oppressed. It's called Classism.

The Piershing had lower armor than the Panther but had a 90mm cannon, similar to the German 8.8 cm, but the Panther had much higher armor, however its cannon was 75mm, more similar to the 76mm gun of the Sherman and identical to that of the Panzer IV. The 75mm could have penetrated the Piershing's armor, but the fact that it was a previously unseen model gave the Americans the advantage, The Panther tankers themselves, who survived, said that they believed that this new tank was one of the "wunderwaffen" (wonder weapons) that Hitler talked so much about.
