Rupert Spira 🙏 Suffering is a CLAIM for something (better) to happen, and needs to happen. When an individual holds or clings onto a (separate) self - a sense of lack or incompleteness - always arises in Oneself to cause discomfort, dissatisfaction or suffering. However when the sense of a (separate) self is vanquished, 'no one' is there (in body & mind) to suffer or enjoy. Things just unfold, happening and to happen naturally. Hence the Teachings of Non-duality say (to paraphrase) - _The Dharma is Non-dual, thus there is neither sufferer nor enjoyer._ 😊🙏🙇‍♂️🌷

It always remind me the short history of Edgar Allan Poe by the name of “The Monkey Paw”. We humans have received the greatest grace imaginable The knowing of our own existence, but if we mistake our “I” with the body or mind we have to pay a great price for that.

Could it be that there are ‘levels’ of Oneness? Our instinctive impulse of the need to worship, for example, hints at a hierarchy of Being. In the metaphor of the river, it is one river but the bodies of its water flowing at its banks and those in the center are differentiated.

I think Living in this dualistic realm in which we experience ourselves as separate beings is the reason that we think that God is also a separate Being. But Rupert shows that closer examination of our simple experience of ourselves elegantly reveals the Oneness of Being. There is only One Being of which we are. This is enlightening. Those of us that still don’t get this will certainly do when their bodies die and they enter the realm of Oneness.

When the body dies, the mind doesn't. In the absence of the body, mind will take over, till it can incarnate in a new body.

Ajana is not pronunciated as it is spelled rather 'Agyana'. It comes from Sanskrit. Gyana is knowledge. Agyana is ignorance. Because of pronunciation complexity it might be spelled as Ajana. I have come across many westerners pronunciating in this manner. Those having knowledge on Sanskrit would pronunciate as Gyana and Agyana.

The mind qualifies its activity of thoughts and perception as reality. Otherwise there is no reality as subject and objects. It's entirely mind thing. Mind is all there is to interpret itself and its activity as whatever.

There may be a hole in Rupert's argument as some infinities are larger or smaller than other infinities. For example the infinite series: 1, 2, 3, 4,..... contains and is therefore larger than tne series: 2, 4, 6, 8, ..... which is also infinite. In other words, if you take away some parcel from infinity, you may still be left with infinity ..... In any case, this is just metaphor and it's only meant to satisfy the mind. I am thinking that rational explanations can only take you so far.

It seems as though the last part of this instruction and description of the waking state by Mr. Spiral contradicts Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta but reality isn't in words and cannot be defined by a seemingly finite self. 😄 Understanding is important and I appreciate this type of beating around the unknowable bush explanation, so to speak. Thank you.

Very nice explanation, Rupert. 🥰 Like the woman said, it’s difficult to understand the creation of the world without a reason. But if there’s no past or future, only now, then we can only conclude that consciousness was never prior to the world or that God was never first then afterwards came his creation. We want to believe differently, as to our finite minds and our upbringing, this would make sense. But it seems apparent that both (that is, nothingness and everything) have always been here simultaneously, so to speak. It all just is / both just are. In one big moment of the now. It blows my mind, but then again, the mind can never fully understand these things, I think. 😊

This man Rupert Spira, like all the other people who put themselves forwards as experts in matters pertaining to spirituality or consciousness, are all unconscious spiritual vampires making themselves seem important and like the source of understanding of life and consciousness, when it is our own consciousness and it's uninfluence freedom to observe the naural movements of the mind and organism and nature and life, and thereby understand them and their relationship, that leads to the understanding of life and trasformation of the brain through learning about what is, and obviously no-one can teach that. No-one had to teach the Buddha or Krishnamurti that. You just have t see it's importance. Any teaching is a distraction from the simple awareness of what is, and given that there is only awareness and what is, who can teach awareness of what is? No-one. But if you believe that other people are the source of understanding of your consciousness and life, you devote your energy and attention to them and make listening to them important rather then understanding yourself. Thus you destroy what you call spiritual progress but is really the progress of your understanding of consciousness and life. After all, what all these teachers call enlightenment is the flowering of understanding into truth. It's not the accumulation of knowledge, and any teacher to beware of betraying this natural flowering. Who knows what the consequences may be for 'teacher' or taught alike.
