I really liked your review of this vehicle. I have a 2012 xc60 3.2 6Cyl. FWD. 159k mi. This is my 1st. I love the comfort as well as the interior. I must say, the ride for a vehicle of a "Luxury Vehicle Class" is rough. I can feel the smallest cracks in the road. Also, there is a weird Left hand turn accelerator pause or no response while in the turn. I also have experienced the oil burn you talk about however, I've only had the vehicle for 1 year. This vehicle does have a dipstick for the oil, I have also had to add a quart occasionally. It is a nice looking vehicle and does have great safety ratings. Overall, I feel the performance and some transmission oddities may have me selling this vehicle soon as well.

I was looking for a BRZ/370z but then I found my 08 PRHT for a good price and I bought it. Initially i was planning to just do maintainance and fix the paint to flip it, but I cant find anything better for a reasonable price and its growing on me. I was planning to sell it next year, but I think youre right about prices going up in the future so im gonna keep it a bit longer

the first hose was the overflow. that's just to direct it somewhere when the car overheats and the coolant boils. Also there's hose clamps to clamp those shut, works way better than your tape. 😅 the tank going yellow also isn't an issue, just looks.

Subscribed. I have a 2013 GT PRHT I bought 6 months ago. Your video is spot on, The NC gen is 90% of the ND with the hydraulic steering of the NA/NB for 35-50% of the price. Not to mention it has the most reliable transmission compared to the ND. The 2009+ versions have forged internals and increased redline in the MT versions. I bought mine personally because I don't think manual transmissions will be a thing in 10 years and the Miata is one of the most fun cars I have ever driven. Its not fun to rev out a corvette for 3 seconds and be at arrestable speeds. Anyways keep the videos coming and check out my channel for similar NC content.

Haven't finished the video but the NC is in an interesting position. They are the sweet spot for being single owner cars, the people who bought them are moving onto something else or getting rid of them for whatever reason and you can find everything from the old man garage queen (fair weather only driving, but poor maintenance) to the well used and maintained everyday driver, to bagged out units the owner really enjoyed and should be really cheap. The majority I see locally are really clean examples with low mileage. I would say the ND is the better car overall if you can swing it even with the early models (nearly 10 years old now!) but the NC is a slept on car. A nice bonus is that it a car made just before everything went crazy digital with screens and such, so you are getting a pretty simple machine that should age well. And even as the "biggest" MX5 it is still tiny compared to almost anything else on the road today. Personally I am not looking for a project car so a new ND is probably in my future, but I would be hard pressed to say no to a clean NC.

Something to consider when sticking solid items to mesh is that mesh itself doesnt have a huge surface area to stick to. You are literally sticking items to strands of wire. One way round this is to take another piece of tape and sandwich the mesh between the two pieces of tape. So your emblem from the front and another piece of tape from the back. The adhesive on the tape will stick to each peice very strongly and will never come off

Awesome vid -- but my heart always goes back to C5 corvette which you did not mention. It is a much more serious car but has all the pluses of a miata. It even gets better highway mileage if you can believe that. Now, C5's might be a bit more maintenance considering their age and cost of tires etc, but they are at least twice the car of a miata. When I cross shopped Miatas & Boxsters 4 years ago I ended up with a Boxster S but that car is gone now. Time for the Vette to take its place. However, I still keep my pulse on the Miatas. Just throwing it out there for yall. If you want to track a car CHEAP - Miata is the ONLY answer.
