I use it all the time. It's super helpful as long as the chassis can roll.

Good buy at the flea market grinder. Painting the floor at your mount is in excellent idea. thank you for teaching me that. I noticed the ground cord was kind of close to your bearing race for your axle.. I hope the ground didn’t arc and pit the surface. The microphone is good. I liked it. I was amused. It was kind of like I was chilling at the shop with you working, which is what I tried to emulate. NICE 👍

It never hurts to wipe down your parts and welding wire with a clean cotton rag and acetone. Any oils can contaminate your welds.

Appreciate the input. I will try that next time
@lithgowlights8592 ай бұрын
I would not clean if I was using the MIG, but if I was going to TIG it then I would clean with acetone for sure. When doing critical welds on thin sheet steel using my HF start TIG, I have pre-flow set to 0.5 seconds, and post-flow set to 1 second, as this both protects and cools the weld area to avoid distortion. Also when cutting or grinding away unwanted material, I'd still be cooling every 5 seconds with compressed air and/or a cool rag to avoid distorting the panel

Right on, thank you for the input.

A mig/mag device is used for these needs, not a tig. You have big distortions and overheating of the material.

@FlatlandRelics-lb3cu3 ай бұрын
Yes, it's Flux core. I use that for all my welding that is heavier than sheet metal. That gantry crane is great, I lift everything with it.

Welding thin materials can be difficult. Unfortunately, I don’t know any tricks that could help other than work on a the lowest possible setting and use super thin filler rods.
