The collected Toppi V1 was the first place I saw a precedent for Mike McMahon's "Slaine" run and "The Last American". He makes me think of Eric Canete too, but McMahon much more.

I remember reading this and every few pages I would just stop and stare at a layout until I forgot the plot and had to go back to the beginning again. Had to have happened half a dozens times an issue for the layout or letters or inks. Love this book so much.

The colours here like a lot of digtal colours over washes are dull. A really good example of this approach done much better is in Black Science.

I stoped to follow/read Spawn after Marc Silvestri stoped to draw Spawn comics. After him, only ugly drawings came on his place, by terrible artists.

03:55 Nothing is photobashed in Dishonored 2 , the art director distinctly made a point of that. There might be 3D models the team did to paint on top, but thats as far as it went

Nobody is going to capture kim not sure why people is delusional enough to think they will or is a possibility its natural and instant organic constant stream of information, not something your going to mimic by just copying the art

Voltar was published long before Wrightson did his Frankenstein work, early 60s in The Philippines - This group of Philippine comic artists, of which Alcala is one, that came on the scene were fans of old school illustrators like Franklin Booth - as was Wrightson. So it's more that they drank from the same well as Wrightson, and it shows.

I love his art. I love that he draws like John Buscema.. gives me a feeling of continuity. I looked at the drawings and I see Conan. Is he relevant as an artist? Yes! In fact it mad me a fan. I just started buying comics for the first time in about 15 years. The dark horse. Conan didn’t bring me back.. I have hated much of the art I have seen in comics in the last 15 to 20 years. And the woke identity politics and fan hatred has driven me away from the industry.. to my delight, I see none of this here. Hooked me immediately. Made me buy two issues that were on the shelf at the store. Then went out and picked up the trade paperback with the first four issues that I missed. I picked up Savage sword.. the art was not as good but at least it is a good story. So yes, he’s relevant.. and I hope he gets the praise and pay that he deserves. And if the comic book industry wants to survive, I suggest they fire all of these activists, pushing their own personal, toxic, agendas, and fan hatred. Please let Titan put out a king Conan title. And let Titan get rid Sonia away from the butchers by Gail Simone that destroy her character
