It does almost everything it claims to do. THE GOOD: REHEATING - This thing is awesome! I now can use the air fry to reheat things I never would have reheated before. Reheated french fries are sometimes even better! Crispy outside, fluffy inside. ROTISSERIE - I did a Cornish hen and it came out wonderful. You can do a very small chicken but any larger will not fit. It cooked faster than I thought it would. About 2/3 the time it would have spent in the oven. And the perfectly browned and crispy skin all over was as tasty as it looked. AIR FRY - Great for things that were previously fried like frozen fries, chicken fingers, and mozzarella sticks... But I'm not giving up the deep fryer for making these things from scratch. BAKE - Pretty good. Because of its size, you're not making anything too large in here but you can use both racks at the same time. Be careful with anything that rises though, the heating element is on the top and you want to make sure to keep your items at a safe distance. Also, be careful with time and temperature. This does cook faster. Again plan on 2/3 of the time and add more if needed. BROIL - This is no different than air frying. But it's still good. THE BAD: DEHYDRATE - There are only 2 racks so you're only going to fit a very small amount in there. The fan will blow your items around as they dehydrate and become lighter in weight. I haven't tried herbs yet but I imagine them flying all over in there. It takes a very long tiime, 14 hours for thinly sliced apples. I really don't want this tied up that long. THE UGLY: TOAST - I have only tried white bread so far. It comes out way too dry to enjoy. I have been able to make it a bit better by putting a cup of boing water on the bottom tray. The only way I could get a good slice of toast was to spread it with butter BEFORE toasting it. It took longer to toast but it was good if you want buttered toast but that doesn't work for cream cheese or other toppings. I do think it will make good croutons though. Frozen waffles are too dry too unless you have thicker, Belgian style waffles. OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER: CLEANING - Easy to clean as long as you do it every time. The racks and drip tray are dishwasher safe but are so easy to rinse and clean that there is no need to use the dishwasher. And the nonstick coating will last much longer if you wash it by hand. The basket is not coated and is not as easy to clean. The door comes off to make it easier to clean. While not much fat is used with this there will be small oil splatters on the sides. I recommend cleaning the sides each use or the splatters will cook on and yellow. I hate that but it's up to you how much you clean it. HOT - The racks and anything you put in it will be very hot! Don't let kids use this and do keep an oven mitt nearby. SPACE - The width and depth are the sizes of a small toaster oven. The height is over 14 inches and you need a couple inches above it to vent. It will fit under most wall cabinets. But, if your cabinets are hung low or you have trim around the bottom of them, this may not fit. Just take a minute to measure first. If you have less than 16 inches between your counter and upper cabinets you should look for something else. APPEARANCE - This looks great in my kitchen. I think it would look good in any kitchen with black or stainless steel appliances. It's very clean and modern. I hope this helps you with your decision. 111 people found this helpful

First I got the instant pot pressure cooker add on. I fell in love and it was too small for the entire family. So I got this one. When I saw the rotating cage I knew I wouldn't consider others without it. The add-on was actually faster to pre-heat than this fryer. The plug for the add-on has a barrier to prevent using both sockets of a typical electric outlet at the same time. It is probably because the pressure cooker is a lot tougher. The add on is not only smaller, also if you have to look at the status of the food you have to open it and stare deep into the bottom of the fryer. This fryer has a glass window that is a lot easier. And it's a lot easier to turn the food because you just slide out a tray. Honestly, this is a plastic box with a stainless steel skin. Most budget appliances are like that. If you want more metal you need to pay more for that. The steel skin is decent when some other appliances are a bit flimsy. The inside is all metal too with a tough glass door. I did saw a tiny jet stream leaking out near the front gaps (not the door) when I first use it. But I didn't see that again. The coupling to the rotating cage is tough plastic. It would be a lot more expensive to make with a metal part. But it is unthinkable to melt those pieces of plastic with only 400F. The guy who managed to melt it must be doing something unthinkable, or, of course, there's some sort of malfunction when the temperature is out of control. There is some plastic smell when you first use it. But it will go away very soon, like after 10 minutes of frying. And it's not bad unless you use a much higher temperature than 400F, which I don't think it's possible. The cage is stainless steel which has quality. There are two frying trays and a drip tray all have a quality non-stick surface. Since there's no direct heat on any of these, cleaning should be easier than a pan or wok. Disher washer using white powder pods should get them cleaned. If not, my go-to is to submerge everything in boiling water and add washing soda (or baking soda). Everything comes off easily or food stains don't accumulate; you can do a more thorough cleaning when you have the time. I have a range hood like two jet engines but I can only hear strong winds hitting on the grease filters. The noise of this fryer is overwhelmed by my range hood but the pitch of the fryer is higher so I can still hear it. When the fryer is hot, the label on the glass door can be peeled off effortlessly. I know some models carry a warning label about BPA and lead. I looked into it and it's either nutjobs, corporate sabotagers, or conspiracy theorists. My model doesn't come with a warning so Instant Vortex may have dealt with it. First, it's too late to worry about non-stick when an associated chemical can be detected in most of the population. Nowadays, non-stick materials don't use bird-killing chemicals and won't have that in the non-stick to leak out. The non-stick material is rather inert. Without direct heat as in woks and pans, any health risk will be one dimension less. BPA is associated with soft plastic. The plastic coupler in the fryer is as hard as it can get. I don't know why there is an issue when there's no food contact with the plastic. Any BPA has to leak out as gas to make any possible contact with food. But you how strong the air circulation is inside the fryer. A blogger has the equipment to test for the lead! Where she discovered lead, there is no food contact. I remember she discovered traces of lead in the cord/plug, and something like the inside of a rice cooker. Isn't that nuts? The inside of the rice cooker isn't in touch with anything other than the bowl. The leaders have to leak out to the bowl but any traces would have been largely eliminated when you rinse/wash it. In comparison, everything wood and metal in hardware stores are cancerous per CA P65. And is the cord inside the conducting metal or on the outside plastic? I will be surprised if you find lead in plastic. But why test only this fryer? I bet you can discover leads in every appliance where there is no contact with anything. Anyway, it's not a major issue. The suppliers just happen to give you something with lead or BPA in it when it's not expected. Hard plastic doesn't usually contain BPA and BPA-free plastic isn't a big deal. Similarly, you can swap suppliers for a lead-free component in some obscure places inside. 70 people found this helpful

This is absolutely great. First of all, it came packaged VERY well. This is my first air fryer, so no comparisons, but I’m using this every day. 2 grill racks, and both are so easy to clean it’s ridiculous. The same goes for the drip tray - rinse and wipe and you are good to go - this isn’t your grandpa’s Teflon, this is something I’ve never dealt with before. The trays can almost be handled with bare hands right after cooking! The rotisserie basket is another story. Hard to clean because it is a thin wire screen. That one needs to be put in a dishwasher after scrubbing the tops with steel wool (but steel wool gets caught up in the wiry screen so the best you can do is a sponge I guess.) That being said, the rotating basket is the most fun to use, and you get amazing results, even when it’s a little crowded in there. This thing cooks perfectly, is super easy to use, and holds much more on the flat trays than you would think. It’s actually huge inside based on what I can fit in it, but it doesn’t look that big - the racks even look small but we did 8 chops all at the same time, and 4 ribeyes another time! I wanted to address the initial “odor” issue some have experienced. When I got this, I read the instructions on the two trial runs you’re supposed to do before using it. I followed those instructions (basically just putting it through two cycles), and I have smelled NOTHING even remotely toxic after the first trial run. What I do smell is crunchy french fries and crunchy chicken wings, among other great aromas. As I said, this is my first, but from my research and experience, it would be difficult to find a better one. *UPDATE - I’ve had this since April, even though I didn’t get around to writing this review until June, and I’m STILL madly in love with it, but I want to point out a couple of flaws that became apparent through long-time use. But first, let me say that this wonderful machine has cut down our oven use by at least 80%, if not 95%. We barely turn that thing on anymore! Anyway, the only two negatives after 8 months of everyday use are, for one, moisture condensation gets “between” the glass on the door and you can’t wipe it, so it’s not looking as pretty as it could because that moisture dries in streaks. It’s really not that big of a deal to me, but to some, that may even be a deal breaker. The other negative is the door design itself. The door is removable, so it has slots it fits into. Those slots are almost impossible to clean without a q-tip or something. And they allow grease to leak through onto the counter. Now, you won’t know it’s leaking, because it’s not gushing out, it’s actually minimal, BUT, push the unit back around 3 inches, and you’ll see you need to clean the counter. Also related to this is somehow that same minimal leakage gets caught on the left bottom corner of the door, and you’ll see it when you open the door - it doesn’t get to your counter, but it’s a must-clean after every use sort of thing. I love this thing so much that I don’t want them to change anything, but if there were a way to modify that door and keep everything the same (maybe an updated rotisserie basket as well), they should address those flaws. 45 people found this helpful

This is a review of the model with a numeric pad style control interface (NN-SN966S). My main concern was issues raised in the negative reviews. First, regarding the issues with the reliability of the door mechanism, I believe the problem is related to the model with a knob, not with the model with numbers pad type control module. Unfortunately, Amazon lumps reviews together for three different models. In fact, the majority of the negative reviews were for the model with knob style control. There was a complaint about low lighting inside the oven. Again the model I bought is well lit with a white oven surface as a background. It makes it easy to watch the food you are cooking. The oven is humongous. If I buy again, I would go for the next smaller size, the 1.6 cubic foot Pansonic. I use the oven mostly for warming up food and boiling drinks. My old Kenmore microwave oven was smaller than my new oven and yet I never had a situation where I wished it was bigger. The stainless steel oven front does capture fingerprints; however, I am more interested in performance and usability. I do not mind oily smudge left on the oven surface. Another reviewer mentioned steam getting inside the door panel. My oven has a vapor barrier film glued to the back side of the oven door. I do not see how steam can get inside the door panel unless the film is damaged or the complaint is related to a different oven model. If find out any other problems I will report back. Few reviewers reported the danger of fire inside this oven. My wife had left a paper-covered wire bag tie inside the oven and it did catch fire. The fire spread to a plastic food cover. We were lucky that we were standing near the oven and the smell of the burning plastic alerted us to the fire. Over decades of microwave oven use, we never had a fire in the microwave oven, even though there were occasions when metallic parts were inadvertently left inside a microwave oven. Is this oven more prone to cause a fire? Or, this was because a paper-covered wire can be easily ignited by microwave energy? I do not know. 202 people found this helpful For more information, check this website: www.homeairfryer.com #built-in #microwave #oven

I did a lot of research, read reviews, etc. before I pulled the trigger on this. I honestly didn't care to have one this big, but it seemed to be the only microwave, I found, under $400. or so, that didn't have scary reviews in the one star category, at least on Best Buy's website. Part of the reason I'm saying that is, I noticed that the reviews for this unit on Amazon, seem to be talking about a different model number. Take a look for yourself, and I think you'll see there's something fishy here, when below the reviewers title it gives you a different model number than this unit, which is NN-SN 97Js. I just wanted to make that clear and just for interest, I noticed that there's some bad one star reviews here on Amazon, but Best Buy's reviews for NN-SN 97Js are all pretty good. Getting to the meat and potatoes of things. So far I'm very pleased with the microwave. I can actually read the names on the control panel and they seem to work alright. That's always a big concern for me on any control panel these days, because they can sometimes wear out early. I'm certainly hoping for the best. I've only cooked a few things in it, so far, but they seemed very evenly cooked, probably better than my old microwave. I like the fact that it's quieter than my old microwave and doesn't sound like a B-52 bomber when you start it up. I feel lucky because when I looked up places I could take it to in the event of a failure under warranty, there is one right here in San Diego. I also bought an extended warranty from Asurian for 4 years, and apparently they'll send you a prepaid sticker if you have to mail it in to them. The way I understand it is that you can only use Panasonic's warranty for the first year, then the Asurian extended kicks in for the remaining 3 years. In other words, the Asurian starts counting down the day you buy the microwave. The good news, to me, is it only cost an extra 44 bucks or so. I noticed that one reviewer complained at how ridiculous and difficult the programming and engineering design was on this unit, but to me, it's not "that" bad. You do have to click the power button 11 times in order to take it to the "warming" setting, but you have to click the button different amounts of times depending on what power setting you want anyway. He's probably right, that they could have designed it to use the number keypad for the power settings but I can live with it. I do like that, according to some literature, the power settings are "real" power settings and not just some cheesy setup where the microwave stops for a while just to make it seem like your cooking it on a lower temperature. In other words, say, when you cook it on Power level 3 it really does take longer for your food to cook. I think 3 is the number you'd use for defrosting. All in all, I'm pleased and it has all the stuff I would want on a microwave. Of course the real test, is how long will it last, and/or, will they honor the warranty if needed, and so on and so forth. I'll make it a point to put an up-date on this review after I've used it for a fair amount of time. Marc Trainor. 41 people found this helpful

I was skeptical about their claims on how much better this oven worked with its cyclonic technology, yet I have to admit that it really does work well. Say goodbye to cold centers and crispy edges and say hello to evenly heated food every single time! No, really! I was honestly amazed, I didn't realize just how much of a difference the cyclonic technology in this thing would make in terms of using a microwave, yet it's really noticeable. Cook times are actually down, heat is uniform, and food isn't over or under-done if you follow cooking instructions, it's a real game changer! That alone would have been enough to call this thing the best microwave oven I've ever used or owned, yet there's more that makes it even better! Its genius sensor is so handy, you need to make sure the steam can get out, but gosh does it work well! I've never had it undercook anything I've used it for and only in the making of oatmeal did it have any issues, it made the oatmeal rise, but I have a feeling that's because I used milk instead of water and milk has a different steaming point. Its sensor cook and sensor reheat functions work like a champ, yet its other features, such as preset features for frozen entrees or thawing work remarkably well, too. I don't know if it uses the genius sensor to help in the preset cooking or not, but it does somehow seem to be able to tell just the right amount of cooking time for most things even if there ends up being a little more in terms of weight than the instruction manual says to have. I am truly blown away by this, its surfaces are easy to clean, it's easy to use, it works remarkably well, I really don't think I could have asked for a better microwave oven! 9 people found this helpful

I found the Fryer of my dreams!!! IS that even a thing? Okay... maybe not! :) I own a smaller air fryer and love it to pieces and was looking for a larger model.... I bought a different one before this one and it was a nightmare.... So I looked up some more info on Air Fryers and came across this Cosori model. Bought it and have loved it since I took it out of the box! Soooo Easy to Use and soooo Easy to clean too! I've cooked 40lbs. of Chicken Wings in it since I got it. Italian Sausages, Hamburgers, Fresh French Fries, Cornish Hens, Biscuits, Eggs, Stuffed Mushrooms, Pizza, tater tots, Fish, I can go on... I really use this machine a lot... In fact, I use this and my other Fryer when making meals for my family... Quick and easy to do. I haven't had any issues with it... it turns on easily, cooks quickly, and clean up is a breeze... My disabled husband who only has use of one hand can use it easily as well... He even cleans it without a problem... One of the Best Investments I ever made in a kitchen appliance! 95 people found this helpful

Actually received the air fryer the day after it was ordered. Prior to cooking, I ran the fryer on a preheat cycle of 400 deg. F for 5 minutes to eliminate any possible manufacturing/electrical residue. There was somewhat of an electrical smell with this process, but that has been normal with other kitchen electrics I own. (Some manuals will even direct you to run the appliance a few minutes to let it "cure in" and to expect an electrical odor.) The odor dissipates and isn't an ongoing issue after curing. Started off with cooking tests of 3 inexpensive items: meat, potatoes and bread. I didn't use fresh items for the testing, but chose frozen sausage patties, frozen "cubed" hash browns, and canned biscuits. I made certain to preheat the fryer for every item at the cooking temperature being used - the results were impressive. For the sausage patties, the fryer was preheated at 390 deg. F for 5 minutes then cooked at 390 deg. F. Cook time was 6 minutes and patties were flipped over at 3 minutes. The finished patties were tender and moist, just slightly browned around the edges, but not at all burnt or hard. Wonderful result. (Quite a bit of time saved over skillet cooked patties which I usually cook low and slow to keep them tender and avoid hardness/burning.) The fryer was cooled and preheated again at 390 deg. F. The frozen cubed potatoes were lightly spritzed with EVOO, and cooked at 390 deg. F for 7 minutes. With 3 minutes remaining, the potatoes were tossed well, seasoned with salt and pepper and lightly spritzed again. (The potatoes weren't seasoned initially because I wanted to clearly see how well the fryer was browning them.) The end result was light brown crusty edges and tender centers. Perfect. Better than oven roasted. Saving the canned biscuits for last, I really thought this would be the challenge and was prepared for a re-do. (I haven't been very successful in the past with canned biscuits in the GoWise Turbo air fryer.) I set the fryer to preheat at 360 deg. F for 4 minutes and used the time t

I love my new air frier! Tasty vegetables that are still crispy, good French fries or roast potato slices, frozen chinese dumplings and spring rolls, spicy chicken tenders, sausages, the possibilities are endless. I live in a rental with a conventional electric oven that is very slow to cook things, so can tend to dry things out. The air frier is the answer to that, with the fan assistance it cooks things super fast. Added advantage is that you don’t have to worry about it, just press the button and off it goes, won’t burn things, it stops when it’s done. One issue to note is that you must select the size of air frier that you buy according to how many people you are cooking for. This one is fine for 3 people, but if feeding a bigger crowd then a larger capacity would be advisable. The cooking basket and pan contain all mess of the cooking and are super easy to clean. Mess is limited anyway as so little oil is used in the cooking process. Cooking oil spray can is very useful with this device.

I've been a grumpy old man and been clinging to my convection oven for years. It's sounds something like... "Ah, those things must have cold blind spot... just whipping the air around in that small space...fling'en the oil and juices inside and making a mess..." Well, at least the Cosori, it doesn't have any of those issues. Tested it with homemade fries with tossed with a light coat of olive oil and not any issues oily sprays or leaks. Any drips stayed inside the pan part and the basket design was simple and efficient to shake the fries around or flip with a silicone spatula. Air seems to move around the 1.5 pounds test fries well. The single shake interval is good enough to give mostly even crispness. Heating up frozen veg, prepared frozen items, chicken crockets, roasting baby carrots, and links of sausages were all very good... depending on settings of course. So about settings... it can be tricky. The charts and suggested stuff is fine, but I found I had to really personalize things to zero in on my idea of just right. Employing the 'Shake' button or hitting the pause often was helpful to check on the progress. My first test fries on the pre-set were too dark and dried for my liking. The pressure from the air makes my convection oven calculations off by 15% or so, but still I have no real complaints with the Cosori. Clean up after a busy weekend of cooking experiments has been a breeze. Only doing wipe downs with a paper towel and a few rinses so far and don't see a need to toss it in the dishwasher. I've read somewhere that basket part may not handle many cycle through the dishwasher, but the clean up has been so light that I don't think that will ever be necessary. Under the drawer or the air fryer's cooking compartment, I've only needed a quick wipe down of any build up moisture and so far not a sign of grease. I don't spray coat items prior to cooking yet, but I'm sure when I start, I'll see the build up and maybe some residue in the bottom outside the drawer. When I get over the laziness and stop eating, I'll add some pics.
