Not to be the bearer of bad news, but almost all artists do this. It’s not unique to Rose, Blackpink or any other kpop group or idol mentioned or “praised” This is all discussed prior to performing. They have hand gestures to look out for, the staff must all be watching the artists/idols to see if anything’s wrong. Artists and idols have contracts with strict time limits and such. Stopping a performance is wasting that precious time and planned performance. If they all just stopped the show to tell the tech that they need their mic up, it’s setting the singer back, the group back, the techs back, the band back, the host, the venue, there’s risks of then the artists not fulfilling their contract thoroughly because now they’d have to end the show early with one less song, or have to speed up the rest of the songs. Which then can put them in legal trouble or have them pay a fee. This is all covered in practice and set up, as the venue can’t always give more time to the singers if they stop the concert for somkething as trivial as “please turn up my mic” Restarting the song isn’t an option, and playing it from that one interrupted part disrupts the audiences experience, an experience they pay heavily for. Not sure what people think is so special about Rose or any of these idols doing the bear minim, which is their job. It sounds harsh, but it’s all what they’ve been told to do since day 1. This is in the manual and they’re aware of the repercussions if they stop it for something like rings hurting their hands, bracelets falling, ear piece not being loud enough. In some cases, depending on the case, clothing falling off is fine. So long as it’s not putting the idol in the nude, the show much go on. “The show must go on” That phrase was never meant for artists to buckle down at all costs because “audience and fans are life” it’s meant for all the obligations they hold to the boss, their venue, the staff, the security, their contract obligations etc everyone there that has to reset, redo, rework and even stay behind because of a performer doing a poor job because they couldn’t signal for help properly. If you’re a performer and do not know how to do any of this, if you do not clarify with your team all the “what if’s” then you should not be praised. It ultimately gives the audience a bad experience and sets back a ton of people. You should not be praised either. What Rose is doing is as common as the sun. People like to grasp on to anything to make it feel like their idol is doing more than others, is better than others, is more valuable than others because they signalled to someone to turn up an ear piece. Mistakes happen, but what should truly be rewarded are those moments when you don’t see any of that because the teams checked and re-checked in between each song when available and before performance.
