I watched second reality loke 1,979 times. I know it by heart. It was what inspired me - Sami Tammilehto - you are my IDOL, I used yo worship your coding skills! And Purple Motion, and Skaven, and just everyone - I loved future crew so much, you chaned my life!

It's kinda cool that trackers have a sort of resurgence in hardware, of all things, these days -- The Polyend, Dirtywave et al are so cool. The golden age of trackers is almost resurgent

That is awesome to hear that Trug was delighted by their renown outside Finland in 1995, but like, wow, considering even by early 1994 in rural Central Illinois all of my friends had seen it dozens of times, I do not think he appreciated just how big a deal it was by then. Awesome that he did get a hint though (and obviously understands more now in hindsight)

I was so bitter about how revered Purple Motion was (as a very young aspiring Demoscene musician myself) but I pride myself that even in my young teen hubris I always acknowledged the first part of that song was phenomenal. I was just thinking I should totally have it as my ringtone to potentially instantly identify other fellow enthusiasts in the area even today, haha

Waiting for this video since 1994!!!!! This demo blew my mind back in the day. Always wished to meet who made it, listen to them and learn something new on how they made that in the 90s! Got into the .mod, .xm making after second reality! Thanks a lot, guys!

Unreal in 98 was kind of the Probe stuff. It literally blew my mind back then. Back in the late 90s it was the golden time for 3d graphics.

Times when the name "future" was cool... The sci-fi in the 80s/early 90s was just better.

The thing that made oldschool demos great was that they did things never before seen or heard on the target platform. With today's systems, there really isn't much of an envelope to push, so you're left just doing something pretty. It's nice, but it doesn't create the same sense of wonder. It was nice to grow up in the beginning of the personal computer era, though.

Future Crew went on to form Remedy and Futuremark, and The Silents that were mentioned in the video later formed Zyrinx which then became IO Interactive....these talented demogroups got very far after the demo age :)

i spent hours to coding demo like this with my dear old turbo pascal compiler because was possible add assembler code inside the pascal code with instruction: procedure myproc1; assembler; asm mov ax,2 mov bx, 2 shl ax,1 add ax, bx .... .... etc. etc. end; :)

This DEMO by FutureCrew back in 1993 convinced my friend that PCs were cool and a few weeks later (yes ..things like buying and building pcs back then took weeks). Had a new turbo powered 486

ProneSyndrome We got a Compaq 486 SX 25 Mhz it wiped the floor with most things! Remember the helicopter game Comanche RAH 66? it was insanely epic with its bitmapped graphics at the time. The only problem ichad with the SX instead of being a DX meaning it didnt have a CO (Math Processor, while a DX have that) So it meant i could not run 3D Studio for DOS, which kinda made me crying at the time... But 10 years ago later or so i started using 3D Studio Max 2.5 for Windows instead hehe :)

Great demo used this demo to test pc,s in local computer shop along other test programs. Good thing is that demo looped so its perfect to test gf cards that time. Also futuristic siti and effects and sound rocs and sometimes watch demo today on youtube : D
