Great work as you doing. I do nto want to kill myself before i finish my degree in computers lol or fall though it .
great. thanks!
Awesome video Goddess! I've had a cheaper foodsaver & an Excalibur dehydrator since last yr but haven't used the foodsaver yet since my fur baby cat daughter passed on around that time & all the unboxing & most homestead vids around that time never got posted yet, but will hopefully catch up soon & start using it for my dehydrated & dry goods in old store jars I keep. It didn't come w/the jar attachment piece but hopefully I'll get one soon or use the break bleeder or this method if I find a canister☺
Best of luck to you. Thanks for watching
Interesting there is another youtube channel called rain country that sells canisters or vacuum chambers as they are calling them. With theirs you have the option of using a food saver or brake bleeder to do the seal by hand. with how they make food savers to break in a few years nowadays i think its worth looking into. Glad this set up worked for you though
Thanks!!!
Good information. Just could do without the excessive yammering and silliness!
Thanks for watching.!!!😀
Yeah but how tight/loose are you putting the lid onto the jar before placing into the plastic container. Trial and error, or just till you start to feel resistance?
I tighten it to just feel the resistance. You don't want to tighten it really hard. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Where did u buy your tank
I bought it a IFA. Its a farm store here in Utah.
Great video! I'm trying to find large enough canisters but to no avail. Does anyone have a link that would fit large size? I have over 60 RAO sauce jars which are just a little bit taller than a quart glass jar, and A mouth slightly smaller than your typical regular mouth
Try some thrift stores or maybe look on eBay. Hope you find what your looking for. Thanks for watching.
Can you tell me which version I need to do this? Ive been wanting to do stuff like this. Does the Food Saver include the attachment to put the jars in or is that extra. There are a lot out there, so I don’t know which one to buy.
I can't remember if the attachments came with my food saver. I bought my food saver over 20 yrs ago. They don't make the canisters that I have anymore which I found out from other viewers. However, you might find them at thrift stores or I've seen some on eBay. Sorry I can't help you with what version because mine is like really old and I never used anything else. Good luck!! Thanks for watching.
Ive tried this with the rechargeable hand vacuum pumps. Doesnt work. I assume the pump isnt strong enoigh to suck enough air out
That's good to know. Thankyou. Thanks for watching.
When you press the valve you are letting air into the cylinder not out. All the air was sucked out.❤
I'm letting the air out of the canister so that I can take my jar out. Thanks for watching.
Hi, where did you purchase your vaccum canister?
I bought them over 20 years ago. You might have luck finding them on eBay or at thrift stores. Thanks for watching.
Great tip good to know this thanks for sharing . 😉👍 I am wondering after 6 months would they still hold that vacuum seal ?
All the ones I did are still holding their seal. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. I recently discovered I could vacuum my small mouth jars in the large canister when I didn't have that attachment. From your video, I discovered it will seal odd size jars also. Thanks again.
I'm glad you found my video helpful. Thankyou for watching.
Boo on using that margarine
We used that because I don't do dairy. You can use real butter. Either way, its all good. Thanks for watching.
Hi from UE, have you a link for those big canister tk you
Sorry I don't have a link. They don't make them anymore. You might find them on eBay. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Can you tell me the name of the canister brand you're using? And do know if it is compatible with a vs3110 FoodSaver?
The canisters are the Food Saver brand. They came with my food saver when I first bought it. I'm not sure if it compatible. Sorry I couldn't be much help. Thanks for watching.
Greetings, love your video, and your energy !! Could you please tell me what the medium, and large, Vacuum canisters Model numbers are ??
I believe they don't make them anymore. You might find them on eBay or at some thrift stores. I couldn't tell you what their model number is because they are packed away in storage. Wish I had better news. Thanks for watching!!
I make a similar recipe but use Chex cereal. I’ll have to try this recipe bc I love puffed corn!!
If you love puffed corn then you will really love this recipe. It is so delicious. Thanks for watching.
Looks tasty!
It is! Thanks for watching!!
Where can I get one of those sealing vacuum jars, I can't find where their sold.
They don't make them anymore. You might be able to find them at thrift stores or on ebay. Thanks for watching.
Where do you get the canisters from in uk we can only get storage vac canisters but there to put your produce in please
They don't make this kind any more. You might find them at second hand stores or try eBay. Thanks for watching.
where is the link for it..!
There is no link. They supposedly don't make them any more. Try eBay or second hand stores. Thanks for watching.
I don't get how it can pumps the air out if the jar is already closed and sealed, but anyway it does something bc the lid goes down like after u put it in the oven or boil it and then let it rests at warm temp
It's kind of like the same thing when you use the lid attachments you put the lid on those but it somehow how it works. 😄 Thanks for watching.
What lid attachments ? Ty :)@@SuptoNutz
I can't find those canisters at all- I think foodsaver has stopped making them- found another set that will work- will be keeping my eye out at garage sales and goodwill
I was lucky to get them when they first came out. I have heard they don't make them anymore. Good luck.
How big is your pool?
It's 9 feet in diameter. And about 2 1/2 deep. I really enjoy it. Thank you for watching.
@@SuptoNutz We are looking to buy one. We have an above ground pool and it takes too much time to keep it clean. I love the idea of the fresh water each season ! Yours looks so nice.
@@smpeace2683 Thank you. It really is nice not having to take care of a big pool. I think you will really enjoy it when you do decide to purchase one. Good luck!!
Wow! Ty so much!
You're so welcome. Thank you for watching.
Where did u get the canisters. I Need them. Please respond
I've had these over 15yrs. I found out they don't make them any longer, but you might find them on ebay or at thrift/second hand stores. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Check rain country. Using pvc pipe the made a canister for certain jars. And use a brake bleeder to get air out. Also another video I watched. The put a larger oxygen absorbers and then tape around lid or shrink wrap to seal lid.
So many different ways to obtain the same outcome. Haven't tried the brake bleeder but I have seen that idea. Thanks for watching.
Great video!! learned so much. Can you tell me what the largest canister model # is or it's dimensions? I would like to search for it.
The dimensions is roughly 9" high by 5 3/4" wide. That is without the lid on. Thanks for watching
I pull a partial vacuum on various car paint products that are moisture sensitive. I use a vacuum pump, length of vinyl tubing with the end wrapped in cloth, put the tubing near the the can's cap an cover it with a thin sandwich bag. I put a rubber band around the can to seal it. The cloth on the end of the tube stops the sandwich bag from sealing it off. It works great & a similar idea might work for odd sized jars for you.
Thanks for sharing! Also thanks for watching.
Wow you know how to take the long road to get there
Not everyone can follow easy steps. Sometimes you just have to over simplify things.🙂 Thanks for watching
I watched a video a few years back on YT where this man used a tall igloo cooler with the water/drink spout at the bottom front as a vacuum chamber. He put several jars filled with dry food inside, screwed the white lid back on, and put the vacuum hose into the dispenser spout while holding the drink button in then turn the vacuum sealer on. It worked...then he did a 1 gallon glass jar and it sealed too. There's different diy's or other items that could be used for sealing. Man he had a brilliant imagination, but it was so cool to watch him use an igloo (work truck type) cooler to get the job done!
That's pretty cool. I just didn't want to buy the vacuum sealing lids during covid because they were ridiculously overpriced. So I figured I already had these containers and didn't really use them, so why not use the canisters in a different way. Thanks for watching.
Hi. I loveeee this idea. Do you have a direct link of the canisters you got? Thanks.
Sorry, I don't have a link. Sometimes you can find them at thrift stores, or I saw some on eBay awhile ago. Thanks for watching.
Lord you take for ever to explain something that take 3 minutes
Thanks for watching. Appreciate the feedback.
Thanks Angie. I didn't know that you could (re)-seal regular jars using the lid. Awesome savings demonstration!!!
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching
Good Job. Exactly what I do with any jar that I'm re-using. I listen for the pop when releasing the vacuum. Not all re-purposed jars will vacuum seal. The Mason Jar lid sealer does work faster since you are not trying to pull a vacuum in the whole canister. Watch for when they go on sale. Well worth it for Mason style jars.
Thank you and thanks foe watching
were did you get the canisters thank you GOD bless
I bought these years ago. I'm told they don't make them anymore, but people find them on eBay or at thrift stores. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching
I have tons of glass jars I’ve been stacking away. Too bad my sealer we just got not long ago doesn’t come with anything. Going to have to order soon. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Thank you for watching. Hopefully you will get what you need. Good luck. 👍
SO where can I get these?
Try eBay or sometimes you can find them at thrift stores. Thanks for watching
I use a vacuum sealer with the plastic roll, which is heat proof for sous vide cooking. Job done right size every-time. What a waste of time and cost using those vacuum pots and glass jars together. I have many packs of dried and in freezer fresh vegetables. This method shown here is a waste of money and space.
Thank you for the tip and feed back. Thanks for watching.
Where can we get those canisters?
You might find them on eBay or at thrift stores. People have told me they don't make them any more. Thanks for watching.
One of us must have just won the lottery, because obviously neither one of us has anything meaningful to do.
LOL. Winning the lottery would be great, but being retired lets us do nothing some of the time. Thanks for watching
Where can we buy the canisters?
Try eBay or look at thrift stores. They don't make them any more, at least that is what I have been told by a lot of people. Thanks for watching.
Great video, thank you 👍
Thank You for watching
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you so much!!! I'm handicapped and I have wanted to take that hike for 2 years. I was awesome to see the beautiful waterfalls.
You're so welcome. Thanks for watching.
Where did you get that giant vacuum jar from? I need one.
That's a nice large size, I need one myself!
I wish I had good news but I learned they don't make them anymore but you might find them on eBay or look at thrift stores. Hope that helps somewhat. Thanks for watching.
Is it possible to do this with regular screw-on metal lids? I'm referring to the kind that are like a like a one-piece Ball canning lid (if such a thing existed).
Yes it is possible. I reuse my spaghetti jars and they are the regular jar lids.
You can also do that without electricity if you have a maual brake bleeder or another type even homemade pump topull the air out. Ckeck out TKOR(The King of Random) he hasa video that is much easier to use than a brake bleeder that you can build at home.
