There are some lenses that were given that type of treatment after a fine cloudy surfacing.
So the polycarbonate will char but not ignite, but the acrylic will ignite and not char. Did I get that right?
Correct! It takes quite a lot to get acrylic to ignite. So flame polishing edges quickly works well for acrylic, but will char polycarbonate.

It’s interesting that with the same drill the common drill you didn’t put it down on the plywood or the wood whatever the same way as you did the other one, you held it up with no pressure on the back, and therefore it was more likely to fail, just an observation, not here to cause any waves.
I think the "how" would have been more useful here than the "what".
