Vanlife, mountainbiking, hill walking, playing gigs and good pubs
Hi we are Nikki and Billy. We used to spend our days dreaming of retiring early and travelling more full time in our van. That dream is set to become a reality this year. So this winter we will be travelling to seek out sunshine for as long as we can.
But before we head abroad for winter we will be having adventures at home in our brand new Auto Trail Expedition 68.
We’d love you to come along on our adventures with us and see how we get on.

You might regret meeting us on the road as there’s so much we can learn about travelling from you. It’s been a brilliant couple of weeks. Managed to get sunburn here but avoided in 42 degrees in Crete. Nikki’s away this weekend then we are off to dales a couple of times in July. Ard rock is worth a visit for the day

@@OnTheRoadAgain-NikkiandBilly yes . The island of Symi, we were there yesterday on a day trip….. you could see the search and rescue helicopters and police with the search dogs….: it’s a very mountainous island, basically rocks and crevices, no trees or shade. Not looking good for the poor fella 🙁
Thanks Billy, didn’t realise that either, currently in France with the Drone, will check out the website asap! Enjoy Crete, Samaria Gorge is beautiful, we also loved Elafonisi Beach, well worth a trip if you haven’t been before 😊
Next time you go you have to do Gingilos. Starts just to the right of the Samaria. Best mountain I’ve done on Crete. Much nicer than the two highest ones. We are off down the gorge to get the ferry to Loutro which I would recommend to everyone

We live in Reeth and have a couple of ebikes to get round the trails and your vlogs popped up on my KZread a few weeks ago - the one where the awning went flying. So enjoying your adventures on here. Cheers. Nikki only started biking in her 50s . You’re never too old etc :) she even finished the Postman’s Path on Harris with a fractured ankle. We are over in a fortnight. If weathers good should get shots of the hushes

Cheers. What’s your recommendation for best route in the York moors while it’s so wet? Think we might get over next weekend as it’s only hour and half away.
@@OnTheRoadAgain-NikkiandBilly Rosedale abbey loop round the old rail tracks is good in the wet as it’s mainly gravel. If you want single track a double track the westerdale loop or kildale loop but it going to be boggy for some time on the moors so just go for it. 😂😂😂. Or the clay bank loop is good.
Lovely park up! The pub looks a good stop too. We look forward to that vlog. Nikki, now you’ve got a powerstation get yourself a 240v hairdryer. I got a cheap one from Sainsbury’s (1800-2100w) and our little EcoFlow RiverPro 720wh runs it fine. No need to mess with the 12v ones anymore 🤣 That Sunday dinner looked lush! Top Mrs Slaw tip. Thanks. At a wedding in the van next Saturday so be handy as Billy won’t let Nikki borrow his. Did you manage to run the air fryer off the EcoFlow? Ours is 716wh. Pub view looked great. Mates who live at Rosedale abbey recommended the Postgate Inn at Egton Bridge. Although I like the look of the Piggy Platter at the Horseshoe in the same village. Think they have a couple of hook ups there. Might head to one of them next Sunday after the wedding so will report back.

What a great aire! We’ve been in that field at a traction engine rally a couple of years ago, but the aire is a great addition to the village. We usually go two or three times a year to The Goathland Hotel (Aidensfield Arms) for Sunday lunch. We can highly recommend their lamb dinner in a Yorkshire pudding 😋
Think it’s up for sale. Can’t understand why they haven’t changed the name to get in with the other businesses. When the cars came past we did keep an eye out in case Gina was out

The expedition 68 pisses over any of those others that you looked at in my opinion. Maybe I’m biased, though - we don’t need the bike storage so have gone for the expedition 67 with auto box, awning and reverse camera. Don’t think you can beat the auto trail expedition range for the money - we looked at absolutely everything before deciding on the 67. Enjoy! We shall be following you on your journey with it 👍
Thanks. That’s exactly what we found after visiting the NEC show twice. There’s nothing comes close for the money, especially if you want a big garage.

Have a look at the awning strap. I have a strap that goes over the awning well it is out & peg it down it has saved our awning a few times.
