"You should have at least 2-3 outhouses." I rushed plumbing and created a single Lavatory/Sink. No shower... until much later. I think it takes 2 cycles until your Duplicants starts to wet themselves.
You're really good with these how-to's. Thank you. Several times I wondered if you worked for Paragon. And thought they should pay you. Thanks again. You've helped me tremendously.
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. I will be watching all parts :D
guys are comittee genocide?
My game bugged out as soon as I tried to direct my science ship to survey Alpha Centauri. Game could not un-pause. No instructions printed in new message. I would restart, but that was my first command.
Thanks again for these series. Just grab the base game on sales and now I am ready to war 😅. The new expansion looks great too!
The first empire I created was a group of avian scientists that I aptly name Beakers.
I know this is a year old, and a little out of date with new updates, (though I don't think combat has changed much since this) but as someone who just got the game on sale this last week, this video has been the most helpful. I'm in my second game right now, and it's the first time I'm really having to deal with war, my first game was relatively peaceful (except that time I accidentally opened up a gateway, and massive 75k fleet came out and decimated me and everyone else in the galaxy, lol.) But anyway, this time I got blocked in by 3 militaristic empires, and I was fighting a two on one way war, (thankfully the third guy was directing his attention in the other direction) and they each had armies at my borders on opposite ends, so I decided to go deal with the one I thought was the more pressing threat, thinking I'll let the other guy take a couple systems, then come back and reclaim them. But then suddenly I was at peace with him, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I never agreed to peace. I was so frustrated, because now I had lost those systems, that I thought I would be able to reclaim really quick, but now I have to wait a decade. Thanks to this video I now know why, they had claimed just those two systems, came in and got them with me nowhere near, and so they "Won" the war, even though My fleet would have destroyed them, if they weren't preoccupied with the other nation. And the worst part is, I didn't even realize until I was done with the other guy. There was no pop up or anything, probably a small notification at the top that I missed among all the others that were popping up because I was at war. But that should definitely come up with a big pop up on screen right in your face, so you know what's happening. Anyway, thank you, I know now what happened. This games tutorial system is pretty garbage and doesn't explain anything too you lol. These last two episodes were the last piece of the Stellaris puzzle that I was missing. Most of the other stuff I was able to grasp pretty well just by trial and error, and watching what was happening.
Beginners' guide, Beginner's guide, Beginners guide, Beginner guide. Which one is it now?
You're the best.
This is honestly the best tutorial series I've come across. I usually love buying and playing new games across different genres as I find the learning process fun. I have watched countless tutorial videos and series about different kinds of games and most of them are good. However, yours stands out above the rest. Usually even after watching tutorial videos, it still requires me playing the game to fully understand and take in what they're talking about. Watching your series though has helped me understand stellaris so much even without trying things out on my own. I'm now addicted to this game lmao. Thank you!
How on earth, big graphic, third person builder game you can compare with those, minecraft like games? Does new gen really that devolved? Those videos 🤣! No intelengents found!
brilliant
I want someone to love and talk to abt me how this guy does to stellaris
You are briliant.
Should I get Stellaris: Galactic Paragons??
Thanks for the video!
Wonderful tutorial so far. Thank you so much for these, great viewing to see how the game works.
First, my compliments on your sty6le and presentation. Everytrhing is well-organized and clear. I'm trying to deal with an "idle leader." I'm not yet large enough to have sectors, but there ought to be a way to assign a leader to a planetary governorship, or so some of the bonuses seem to imply. Where is this done? And is there a path from the "idle leader" alert to the options available for their positions? I get told I have so-and-so hanging around the cafeteria, doing nothing -- but I can't find a list of positions that character could fill. On a possibly related note, is there a way to decommission a Science ship if I determine too late that another scientist would put me over my Leader Cap?
Thank you so much for doing a beginner guide as though you just opened the game for the first time. Almost every other one seems to assume I know what half the terms they're using mean in terms of gameplay.
"There ugly and I don't understand them, lets Kill'm"
Really helped bro, as others have pointed out you really have a skill for teaching. Come back and do some more videos!
Is it my ears getting a little old, or do you often slip into calling the game 'Solaris' instead of 'Stellaris'? I keep expecting George Clooney to walk across the room in the background! ;-) And yes, an updated comment about recent DLC releases would be much appreciated, especially as you promised it. 🙂
I turned off the wash basins and water fountains building before water gets added so I get the buff but I don’t waste water, there is no negative result from this
It doesn't happen seldomly that content creators, even successful ones, just up and disappear. Without word or warning, they are gone. Some announce their departure from content creation and KZread publications, some do not. I am not one to judge, but if a content creator has accumulated 16K plus subscribers a small announcement, at least, of retirement should be a gesture of thankfulness for the continual support they have received, should it not? One who just disappears without word or warning, is just pure rudeness in my opinion!
Just started playing the game, and this was great to watch! Looking forward to studying more of your content to get GUD
Hey Max! Super useful tutorial; I see you haven't posted for a year, so hope you're doing ok!
Thanks! I am, though I've pivoted a bit from the content I was making on MaxTheCatfish. I still play Stellaris in my free time, and who knows - maybe some day I might return to making tutorial videos. But for now I'm off on other adventures. Thanks for checking in! ♥️
I remember seeing markiplier play this and he got a duplicant that had mole hands, +7 digging, and could not dig
Subscribed due to sheer quality of content, we need creators like this going mainstream but the NPC's that make up the general population prefer simplistic approaches to everything.
Top 20! Because half of them will be more if you never played a survivor game ever. And a few for people who never played a game in their life.
While playing this game I ran out of water and everything went wrong because everything relied on water like my food and oxogen but there was steam vent not very far and I reached before every one died and used the water it outputed
Hello people, Paradox sucks ass so pirate the game☺️
Thank you so much for such a nice video! At last someone doesn't speak like he sniff 3 tons of cocaine!!! Thank you for taking the time to explain and SHOW WHAT YOU DO instead of clicking left and right while speaking about something else like others are doing!!! Best tutorials about Stellaris!!!
Max, excellent series! I just started playing on the console (Xbox) port. Learned that I was doing about 100 different things wrong. Like building out districts and building before I had pop to work them. Could not figure out why some planets had negative resources. I was also using starbases all wrong and building max defense platforms at every outpost.
This is an exceptional set of tutorials. Thank you so much. Disappointed to see you have not made more videos in a while. You are a wonderful teacher and you enthusiasm is amazing.
Almost gave up on the tutorial but watching this has got me started
I really appreciate the "let's just take a base game". Too many "beginner" tutorials start with an intricate explanation of set-up.
Great well explained tips, thanks!
I played Stellaris 10 years ago on PC... and have just recently reinvested in it on PS5 console edition. Looks like Paradox is currently bringing the console version closer to pc with updates. I wasn't sure how user-friendly console would be.. it's actually not too bad. Loving it so far. Looking forward to First Contact later this year (lots on the console has a release delay). Your videos have helped me catch back up. I forgot so many of the mechanics. Coming back to it with all of the DLCs and updates over 10 years is great, even as far behind as console still is. I'd love to see a Space-X themed Space Force type of DLC that is closer to our current human technology trees irl.
One thing to mention is that if one gets Orbital Habitats do not use them for science unless getting the Void Perk to expand them. They are best for 3 things which is farming, alloy production, and, strangely enough, Fortress station. Even with a small planet amount of say 3 planets just getting that tech would allow all planets to focus on hybrid specialization of either mineral or energy. This is doable until getting to the Mega structures. Trade is an easy thing with the planets. The one thing I would say that is necessary regardless of empire strategy (like playing tall or playing wide) is that every planet and habitat needs at least 2 research labs. May not sound much but with every new planet that adds more and more to the science part. Its the reason why Habitats shouldn't focus on science fully since with every planet adding 1 industrial district with civilian industries would easily take care of any heavy bleeding while trade can make up the rest. For Gestalt types literally play as heavy as possible in the resource area since that is their greatest strength. Applying the 2 RLs per planet is the same except in this case going heavy on resource essentially takes care of the drain that the research would have. Try to give myself the literal hardest time possible where giving the Ai advancement with Grand Admiral along with that one setting that allows their bonuses to double on top of their already doubled bonuses. AI aggressiveness set towards highest with me not using a meta-build either. After just hitting the 15 year mark they are already stronger than even meta-builds. At 50 they are almost impossible to beat without having a federation and them already weakened by war. At 100 I am literally just a spectator at this point. I am no longer a player to them since they could field several hundred thousand fleets and able to stand close to equal footing with a Fallen Empire. 125 Yeah they already fighting evenly with an Awakened Empire. Crisis 25x. They are playing it for sport instead of being a threat. Mid game 2250 with endgame 2300. If want to be a masochist go to allowing all of that at the earliest possible time. The point is surviving not fighting or being the best. Even the meta builds I seen on youtube are barely keeping up. Trying to war with them means another one right next attacks while still in war just for fun. To survive everything has to be min-max with robustness involved at every step so if one resource planet goes it's not a huge loss.
@VoxelShow found this on steam! cant be the same person..?.!
Just starting those videos, but thanks so much, just “won” my first game l-gate style. Had no idea what I was doing until I watched up to now, and learning so much still. Thanks
This is genuinely one of the most helpful video game guides that I've seen.
It won't let me merge fleets says must contain ships of same type but they are
Great tutorial ! Really helped me learn the basics of this game
These were the days :P
Great series. Thanks.
Brilliant.
This is super usefull, thanks so much! I find that it helps me most when I watch a segment of the video and then open up the game and fiddle around a little bit with that part of the UI or issue a few orders.
