Premier Leather Crafters

Premier Leather Crafters

Leather Crafting Tutorials. Mixing ole school with new school leather crafting techniques. Creating simple projects that canmake a lot of money & understanding what your tools/stamps can do.

I keep the videos fun, entertaining as well as informative with what I call "golden nuggets of information."

For a long time, older crafters would not tell their crafting secrets because that is what made them unique from other crafters, unless you spent time working as an apprentice in their shops: the flow of Sheridan scrolls, difference between the 4 styles of the old west, antique dying even how to wet mold leather for that perfect fit.

Now with modern tech & imagination, crafters are now taking that good old boy crafting to the other side of the galaxy, mixing Sheridan design with skulls, using veiners & camo tools to create sugar skulls.

No sir/no ma'am, today's crafters ain't your old Tombstone, Gunsmoke & Bonanza crafters.

    Incorrect. Baby oil is NOT made from animal fat. Baby oil is a light mineral oil refined from petroleum. Also animal fats contain NO sugars. They are FATS.

    Baby oil is mineral oil with scent added (usually sweet tobacco scent.) I would agree that mineral oil is not a good choice for treating finished leather.

    No offense, but you need to get to the point. Five minutes in and you still have not got to the meat of the point. It's a half hour video, is that necessary to share the info you wanted to share? No one likes long drawn out videos anymore. Viewers want creators to get to the point. All the info you needed to present could have been given in less than 5 minutes. 30 minutes to tell viewers about Temu? 2K subs and 70 views? I bet I can guess why. You seem like a nice guy, but please get to the point. I'm not interested in watching videos a half hour long for 30 seconds of info. Neither are other people bro.

    I appreciate your viewpoint, and I think it was a compliment but it’s the same 24 hours it’s been since time was created or being recorded. This may not be the page for you if you’re always in a hurry. Just like leather crafting this is not a “in a hurry or rush industry”. This was live not an edited pre-recorded video. That’s where you missed what I said I won’t go live again for the sake of time. Keep crafting and exercise patience and attention to detail. Racing to the end will only rush your life.

    Thanks for the visit. The buckle set, I don’t think you can alter. I may not be fully understanding what you mean, the keeper is too high, but I’m going to go out on a limb anyway. If you’re talking about the gap between the belt and the rise of the keeper that space is to compensate the metal tip passing thru and there’s nothing you can do about that. If you alter that spacing your tip will not pass. Great question.

  • @pauleyedwin6056
    @pauleyedwin60566 ай бұрын

    When you use the buckle sets: buckle, tip and keeper. How do you handle the keeper sticking up too high other than not using the metal keeper?

    I agree with the small projects, sometimes sell better. I also make custom jewelry out of vintage silverware, mostly rings and necklaces, but there’s some shows that I’ll sell way more jewelry than even the leather. But it’s just another piece of ammunition in the arsenal that brings in the cheddar.

  • @PremierLeatherCraftersKawboi
    @PremierLeatherCraftersKawboi6 ай бұрын

    Great question. The answer is yes. That technique is called “FLASH DYING.” Depending on what type of dye, meaning oil or alcohol based. If using alcohol based flash dying will really dry out your leather, so oil before and after flash dying. Oil based, After.

    Greetings to you and family. It is always a pleasure to watch your videos and i've learned a lot from them. I have been doing leather crafting for nearly two years now. I work with young people and i wanted to give them a skill that could potentially earn them some money, or at the very least keep them out of trouble. I have made with them cup coasters, key fobs, braclets, money pouches and some tiny little handbags from a bought pattern for the girls in the group. My first sale was an RFID wallet and key fob holder, it was in my view kind of big but the customer loved it and bought it for £60 and i was so pleased that my new found hobby was actually more than i expected. For friends and family i've made handbags, belts, flip flops for myself, two biker vests, a tool roll and even forced to reupholster my motorcycle seat, pillion and back rest because the original PU leatherette was beginning to crack. I agree with you about the bugs in the face at speed and i'm interested in the pattern for it. I would appreciate it if you could let me know how i can purchase the pattern. As you say in your video it's about challenging yourself and i'm still learning and trying different projects. Thank you very much for uploading your videos and passing on your knowledge. One Love.
