These 360 Magnum Engines have those Beer keg manifolds and their stupid Steel belly pans beneath them. They should have been made of Aluminum like the manifold itself. They have completely different expansion contraction rates, steel and aluminum. That is what causes the Leaks in intake manifold gaskets. Heat Cycling and expansion rates. Buy an Aluminum replacement online. They are available under 100 bucks, i believe. Total design flaw.
@jonathanfreedom1stАй бұрын
You can also purchase another Intake air temp sensor which is basically just a temp sensing diode....and install it along with extending and soldering the wire on the pigtail to reach the coolest part of the black plastic intake tube by the passenger fender wall opening. Simple job wrap it in loom and run along side intake tube. This tricks the ecm in thinking the air is cooler coming in and adjusts the mix process toward a very slight performance and MPG increase. The response is ever so slight. If you notice this engine has the original location on the beer keg intake manifold but most other vehicles have it located in much cooler spots toward the ends of intake tubes and near Mass airflow sensors. " on other engines" likely for the same reason. Ive had no issues for years and years having done it. Why they would place this sensor on the hot engine block..who knows. Its been said to be a design flaw. But like other odd things found on Mopars like these Beer keg manifolds and their stupid Steel belly pans beneath them. They should have been made of Aluminum like the manifold itself. They have completely different expansion contraction rates, steel and aluminum. That is what causes the Leaks in intake manifold gaskets. Heat Cycling and expansion rates.

In good looking truck. Worth fixing up. That looks like a 2 barrel manifold. 4 barrel oned would be easy to find if you want to go that way. I would. Seems to me exhaust to steerin box clearance is a problem with that swap but lots of people have done it. Good luck.

Great vid, and nice rig! My wife and I are in the process of completely rebuilding the inside of our 1997 Roadtrek 190 Popular (Dodge B3500). It's been an ordeal, to say the least. But to be quite honest, we think these old "Dajiban" are awesome! Great to see you enjoying yours. Anyway, I thought you mentioned somewhere in the vid about needing to "recertify" the propane tank. I'm about 99.998% certain that is NOT needed, as these propane tanks are "ASME" tanks, not "DOT" tanks. It's my understanding that ASME tanks (that are permanently fixed to the frame of the vehicle) NEVER need recertification. DOT tanks, like what you would see sitting on the tongues of travel trailers or the BBQ-style tanks, they do need recertified every so often. I've heard of some cases where less-than-knowledgeable folks who happen to fill propane tanks (such as U-Haul) have refused to fill ASME tanks because they don't see a recert tag. Well, they don't have one because they don't need one. If you run into this, I'd suggest going to a propane supplier who services homes or commercial customers. They know the deal.

I have. 03D170 p Roadtrek . I see you used 5w -30 but according to this article maybe you would be better of with 10w-30. 5W-30 multi grade oil is ideal for private vehicles and light-duty petrol and diesel engines. It also provides a better cold temperature start than 10W-30 oil. On the other hand, the slightly thicker oil,10W-30, provides better lubrication for commercial vehicles and heavy-load engine cars. My engine has only 30 k miles so I’m not sure but one oil company that makes the best pil out there Amsoil says for my 318 5.2L I should go with the 10-30 w.
