Hi, I'm Crrool. I've been a speedrunner for about 6 years now. I've speedran a ton of different games, mostly focussing on RPG's over the years. Since 2018 I started to focus on the Pokémon series to prepare for the Pokémon Series 100% Race (an annual race of all Pokémon Games). Ever since I was hooked on the speedrunning the series and I started to try more and more challenge runs. In March of 2020 I decided I would start uploading some of these challenges to youtube and thus, this channel was born.
On this channel, you'll mostly find challenge runs I've done, as well as videos where I talk about the different challenge runs and some notable things about these challenges. Challenges include things like All Trainers, Weird mains to speedrun the game with, 100% categories, and so on. The commentary videos may include things like Top 10's, difficult sections, tutorials, and so on. I hope you enjoy the videos and if you want to see these challenges live, be sure to drop by on Twitch!

Time to add “competitive friend maker” to the resume
I'm so glad you mentioned Porygon, as he is indeed so annoying to get. Plus he isn't so interesting. All that trouble for such a meh character. Ummmm, for Abomasnow, you can level up Snover with a bunch of Ice pokemons? or with a Psyduck coming along? Or a Sunflora who has Sunny Day, if you don't mind the million messages about the sun hurting her. Also, you can use Snover's disadvantage at your advantage against all the non-ice pokemons, if you go about with him alone. If you're trying to reach a rescue, you can always carry a Sunny Orb or Rainy Orb for that specific floor. For Kyogre, you can go with Masquerain with a Bless Scarf, +speed if rainy, Kyogre CAUSES rainy weather, you'll be faster against him, and faster everywhere you go WITH Masquerain and Kyogre in the party afterwards, + Masquerain can deal Ominous Wind (or Blizzard, or Silver Wind) to help you if a Monster House springs on you. In Sky Stairway, if you bring along Drifloon and Drifblim set on Go After Enemies, your life is a lot easier, especially with all the ghosts hidden in the walls. They can get them for you, before you even know it's there. Your Kecleon strategy is just perfect. 🎉
I've heard the exceptions of fully evolved Pokemon being unrecruitable are Blastoise, Golem, Tentacruel, Feraligatr, Porygon 2, Swampert, Shiftry, and Cradily
@@infectorrobert that list sounds about right (if I recall it's the teams from the dojo), but than their recruit rate is so bad they might as well not be recruitable
Playing the remake and coming back to this, one thing that is perfectly clear is that the original red and blue rescue team, as great games as they are, have zero respect for your time. -Almost all evolved Pokémon never join you, so you have to do ludicrous amounts of evolving, leveling each of them individually and tracking down all the incredibly specific evolution items. - Several legendary Pokémon that appear at the end of dungeons having recruitment rates below zero, so even if you come there with a friend bow at level 90, there's a big chance you went through 30 floors for nothing and have to go through them all for another chance. - You can only have 4 Pokémon at once, so building your team happens at a snail's pace. - Having to go through western cave, a 99 floor dungeon, TWICE to recruit Mewtwo? What were they thinking? - I get that Mew and Mewtwo are meant to be special, but Mew being such a low spawn rate AND having a low recruitment rate is not necessary. It appears so scarcely you may wonder if the game is glitching out and preventing it from spawning properly. It's that rare. Plus what the game never tells you is that it can only appear on initial spawns, so unaware players may wait out endless turns on each floor until the winds come with a tight belt trying to get it to spawn, but it never will that way. Recruiting them all was much more of a tedious grind than it needed to be. It honestly feels like they intentionally made it that way for padding purposes to artificially extend the length of the game. I'm glad they fixed so much of this nonsense in the remake.
I got kecleon in sky after about 50 kecleon kills... I got pretty lucky ;3c
Love videos on shadows of almia! Personally I have never caught regigigas in the game because it is obnoxious and time consuming, a terrible combo
Thanks ❤
It would of been real cool if you would of showed the Pokémon you were talking about
This does not work for the safari zone unfortunately.
What is the music thats around 17:00?
I hated that rampardos fight
Beldum or metang
I totally agree with the top 10, and I have all of them, so I'm only missing some of the grinding ones. If there was a Top 20, surely they might be, probably in this order, Jirachi, Snorlax, Delcatty (if not your starter) (it's mainly bc Skitty is too strong in Joyous Tower), Rapidash, Mewtwo, and the other three pseudo-legendaries: Tyranitar, Salamence or Metagross. Lapras is also a thing here, it's not so common to appear and in a non mandatory place. I'm trying to remember which other pokemon took a lot of grinding, I remember Cacnea, Wailmer, Teddiursa... May be one of them. Am I missing someone?
So risky to do the Meteor Cave without X-Ray or something to move through water. I remember Deoxys getting stuck in squares far from land. Then, while grinding XP there (1000 from each one), I always took a Mobile Scarf, X-Ray Specs and a Tight Ribbon.
Ultra Beast and the two horses of Calyrex are incredible in this
Personally, I remember having a lot of difficulty against Drapion as a child. It was the only catch where my styler got broken a couple of times. All in all I always managed to capture the others in the first fight.
Go to the capture arena if you played only the main story. They are the most difficult captures of the game
@@marcobelli6856 I played. And as mentioned back in the day Drapion (on the Evil Team Ship) was the only one I had trouble with. The rest was tough, but I always managed the first capture (ditto Drapion in the arena).
Legendary Pokémon in this game are dumb because most are in this spawn in a random dungeon on specific floors with holding an item in a addition to generally meh requirement rates and also like 10 of them aren’t even in the base game. You have to use wonder mail.
rescue team forever
teaching attract to alakazam right before heading for the stairs into floor 69 hehe i hope that wasnt intentional
Rampardos gave me a bunch of trouble when i was a kid
plusle
I got exeggcute before snorlax and that was hard
you put in a lot of work in your videos. deserve much more subs/recognition keep grinding bro!
Reggie Gigas the easiest one if you steel type against him
A fun thing for the Heatean fight is that if you use a dark type Poke-Assist, you can draw a loop around the lava puddles that Heatran spawns to make them completely disappear for the rest of the fight
Damn it makes it so easy I wish I knew
Did this ever happen?
It did. I never managed to finish it (specifically restricted sparring and watts grinding) but the run did happen. Not sure if I highlighted it on twitch or not (mainly because I got stuck towards the end)
Fantastic video, yet my brain hurt every time I heard "catch rate" in PMD
Nobody talking about how he’s using a skarmory as himself?!?!?
Very cool concept that I haven’t seen much of before. Keep up the good work!
I save scummed on the floor right before rayquaza so that I don't have to go through the entire dungeon again
Hey man how does wosh cave work can you make multiple wishes or does once you recruit jirachi does it stop you making wishes? Currently trying to recruit all atm and may use the wish to get a few of the harder pokemon to get
Whenever I run the game I always use Jirachi for the 10-ish hardest recruits. You can keep wishing as long as you haven't obtained Jirachi. You do have to redo the dungeon between every wish however.
do i just press no when it wants to join and keep doing it over and over i will probs use this method for chansey will pressing no stop me from recuriting jirachi later on?@@Crrool
@@michaelwyld7690Pretty much, yeah. You dont get to pick specifically which pokemon shows up the day after. It's just one random one you don't already have
In every rescue team blue/red video i see they instakill everything even at low levels. Is the game extremely easy? I saw a video where they fought all the bosses and they killed all the badass legendaries without ever getting touched easily.
The difficulty is usually not so much by how strong each encounter is but rather the sheer amount of opponents you have to beat without getting to heal. There are some broken mechanics though for sure. Linked moves and overlevelling can certainly make bosses quite easy
Always love to see single mon line runs
So... the Red Rescue Team equalent of the list?
It's the exact same
So I’ve just been using up all of my recruiting luck with the legendarys. That explains why I can never recruit anyone in the legend dungeons. (Beat them they join. Always thought it was guaranteed for them to join after you beat them)
need to work on your brevity bro
HE MADE THSI 3 YEARS AGO LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! WORK ON YOUR ATTTITUDE!!!!!
@@calicobunny need to work on your anger bro
1:22 swellow spawns on union road to 4:01 weavile spawns in almai castle post game Im sorry but who says charizard like that its char-izard not chairazard
Bellosom in Capture Arena is hard, as how it always shield itself with its leaves around and throw it all area then make a shield again before you could draw loops again. It's even insanely harder without Poké Assist.
Raichu’s the goat
Pachirisu as your starting partner, with the most broken assist type in the game, makes the entire thing a cakewalk.
If Exeggcute is hard, imagine Exeggutor, Leaf Stone is the hardest stone to find
Would it be faster to catch a nidorina in leaf green then exploit the traded pokemon boosted exp after gym 2?
It might be, but even if it is it would be against the spirit of the run I feel. Generally I like the idea of getting it as early as possible. Additionally the rules are defined such that you should have the pokemon (or its direct pre-evolution) before beating the 2nd gym if possible, so you'd have to do an extra trip to adhere to that rule (and you wouldn't be able to fully evolve until after nugget bridge). Because of that I doubt you'd really save all that much time even if it is faster
It’s crazy that gs is the easiest in the trilogy
I actually managed to recruit Mew when I was a kid, tho that save sadly got wiped. Buried Relic is GENUINELY one of my favorite dungeons in any Mystery Dungeon game, Pokémon or otherwise, and I love the mechanics unique to it!!
I would have expected to find the Pokémon being recruited on this video
I remember as a kid defeating some random pokemon and then it just turned into mew and mew wanted to join me. Very hard to replicate the emotions I felt in that moment 😂
Trying to resist the urge to start a new file on eos instead of concentrating on 100% dx i keep starting new files and all the games i wanna complete get put on the bench for ever aghh
What about dusknoir in the spacial rift?
Because there are so many really hard recruits in Spacial Rift and because Dusknoir is a guaranteed spawn in my experience you'll always get him before you'd have to grind for it
This list is so bogus. Doesn't contain Ponyta/Rapidash which are both just as hard as Chansey. My list is: 1) Chansey/Blissey 2) Ponyta/Rapidash 3) Kecleon 4) Celebi 5) Mew 6) Jirachi 7) Mewtwo 8) Everything that needs 200 IQ for evolution 9) Dragonite 10) Gyrados Pidgey and eggxecute are not that hard since howling forest is short and easy.
For fire replace charizard with Cinderace make sure its libero Cinderace Libero -U-turn -Low Sweep -Pyro Ball -Sucker Punch plan is dynamax (not gigantamax) use max knuckle 2 times then max flare and if you don't kill them then u can spam +2 atk boost and sun boosted pyro ball
So good to see a Sylveon solo run. That’s my favorite Pokémon
