Great video, was wondering why Spain looked so weak defensively and this explained it. Feel like they need to hold the ball more, they don’t strike me as a team that can win the tournament if they don’t have a lot of possession. Otherwise they could just win by outscoring , but don’t know how reliable that is
@umirf16 сағат бұрын
I think they need a better balance between possession and freeing their transitional threats too. Even when they were up, they could’ve held the ball better. But their attack is pretty frightening either way so they’ll be in with a chance. Thanks btw. Appreciate you watching/commenting.

Very insightful analysis. What are your thoughts on England out of possession? Are England capable of pressing the ball this high when Foden and Kane both aren’t great in the press or counter press? Also, will you be expecting Gomez to move up the pitch and support Foden/Bellingham, as otherwise there will be width issues on that side of the pitch?
@umirf12 күн бұрын
Thanks mate. I think Foden is great leading a press, has shown the ability to do so in a two up top for Man City next to Haaland. I’d expect Gomez to sit deep. Wharton would be the third man support for Jude and Foden. Foden would rotate to that left flank.
@travislevison60742 күн бұрын
Brilliant work Umir as always, love the way your analysis is so clear and simple, yet still detailed. Do you think this potential over reliance on the right side could see England struggle? Especially with no side presence on the left, with Jude, Foden, and Gomez all wanting to come central eventually.
@umirf12 күн бұрын
Thank you my friend. That’s always the aim. Accessible but in depth insight. I think there is an imbalance sure, but in my head, the situational rotations between Foden and Jude should be enough to occupy that left flank enough. An overload on the right with that quality, should get the better of most teams IMO.

Great video bro. Would also like to point out he's the best scorer and dribbler I've ever seen while also being one of the best creators and playmakers of all time. His 12/13 scoring peak is probably the most impressive achievement ever and it's also the best long shot taking campaign ever too, StatsBomb wrote an article on it (as well as his career xG overperformance on high volume). An equivalent to him in another sport would be like LeBron having KD's shooting mechanics and Steph's ability from deep.. most impressive athlete ever imo

Thanks brother. Yeah it’s alien init. No idea how he’s the greatest at so many parts of football. The Super League is like a group of spoilt, self-entitled kids in a school. who have a vastly inflated impression of their own popularity, who arrange a party, where they invite all the kids who are considered cool and popular, plus they may allow a handful of the less cool and popular kids into it, but most of them aren't invited. However, the self-appointed cool, popular kids then discover how popular they really are, when hardly anyone wants to attend their shitty little party!
@lordfridge491Ай бұрын
The biggest problem for these players is that the first team is sooo good, you must be at least on massive talent already (Foden) or major random gaps in the team due to player sales or injuries (Rico Lewis) to even get a chance. Palmer wanted to go on loan, but was told either he stays and ends up being behind, well... everyone (which is a fair assessment given the quality of Doku, Grealish, Bernardo, Foden, KDB and not even starting with the more central, defensive midfielders). Palmer and Brahim are doing well in their respective clubs, but it's hard to say they would have been given or earned a chance against previously mentioned players. Besides, our current model seems to be predicated more towards either loaning players into City Football Group teams or selling for high profit, unless you're given a big enough due to affore mentioned reasons. I don't particularly think Lewis is a bad player, but i am I guess you could say more scared that the won't play that much and will eventually be replaced by a purchase. Afterall, Foden didn't have loads of game time at the start, despite his already immense talent. Obviously, in hindsight, such development worked out great but it won't work for every player. There's rumors (again) that Bernardo wants to go Barca (again) so I'm interested if this would afford Bobb more game time or not
