Rafael, I’m tired of European talent being prioritized over American talent. Those kids can score 10 ppg and still go lottery, it’s ridiculous.
?????
@@scottwickett1273 American talent*
So, Mike, you're thinking that NBA general managers are factoring in things beyond who he thinks will provide the best chance for his team to win?
@@Aklelu Of course, the NBA is constantly trying to grow the game overseas.
@@mikejones9906 That tinfoil hat looks good on you!
Ben Saraf is a lock lottery pick! Spread the word.
I’d watch out for Ben Saraf in my opinion he’ll be a lock lottery pick just won mvp of the u18 European championship beating both Nolan traore and Hugo gonzalez and he averaged 28 ppg! Second all time in competition history
@@user-dj2yj2db5q yep. We talked about him earlier in the week. Can’t wait to see him at Ulm.
@@LockedOnNBABigBoard same here fun fact ulm has a game against the Portland trailblazers this preseason so Ben Saraf will get to play against his Israeli inspiration Deni Avdija whose a legit player in the nba rn.

How bout scouting for a good wing players?
Could you talk about Dwayne Aristode in an upcoming episode? 5star recruit. He’s from the Netherlands and we dont often have players as good as him!❤

Are there still any Covid season issues and/or players that will effect next year's draft class? Or are we finally done with the Covid effect? thanks
@@jrh63200 yes. I think this is the last season. Dickinson from Kansas, Broome from Auburn, RJ Davis at UNC are examples

The gatekeepers destroyed his stock because he went r to OTE. He was ranked number one as a sophomore.

@@mikejones9906 That's completely absurd, the Thompsons both got picked in the top five just last year.

@@Collindunks I think it’s a strong possibility too. Going to be tough to live up to the hype
Too many good wings to be underwhelming.
2026 will be better, will go down as one of the best of all-time.
It could be a mirror opposite image talent wise of the 1984 and then 1985 drafts. But 2026 more like 1984 and 2025 like 1985...

@@harveyflood4177 you think he’s an NBA prospect?
Julius had a great redemption story at the Euros this year. Did himself, his family, and the entire nation proud. True honour and pleasure working with him this summer. Glad we aren’t the only ones who believe he has long term NBA potential.
Dimitrijevic is the best prospect of that Serbian u18 team
Guys... let me help you! Every name that ends with IC it pronounced ITSCH like JokiTSCH, DonSCHiTSCH, BogdanoviTSCH... DrezgiTSCH. Its never IK... never!
Collin Murray-Boyles returned to improve his stock. Had him as a first rounder right before the tournament. He might get top 20 this year especially if the shooting range improves. All the signs point to that being possible based on his other percentages. He plays similar to Anthony Mason imo. Seems like a lot of them tried to improve their stocks, but the NIL money makes it an easy decision.
This is RJ Davis’s COVID season coming up
I think a part that is being ignored when it comes to NIL is it gives Front offices data on what a prospect is like when they see big checks. Some guys have already taken their foot off the gas due to being paid well as a 19 year old. Other guys got their college bag and kept their head down and worked harder. Front offices have never been able to know what a dude is like when he has a half mill or a Mill in his account without it being them paying that Mill.
@@MRBBALLMAN10 That’s the bs narrative that’s always being thrown around, all these kids do is basketball and all they know is basketball. Money is only going to help them take care of their families and keep in mind these are teenagers who will mature over time like everyone else. To insinuate that they have taken their foot off the gas, when they’re in a setting where they’re obligated to practice and workout on a consistent basis is absurd.
@@mikejones9906 I work in this lane myself hands on for over a decade. (EYBL Grassroots basketball and College basketball). Have spent years in the gym with certain players in the NCAA and even NBA. I’m not insinuating anything. I’m speaking on what I know first hand. Just because you’re obligated to doesn’t mean you actually do it to your full potential. You have guys showing up late everywhere once their first few NIL payments hit. You have dudes that become uncoachable overnight. You have dudes flying in IG models to campus now and not just running through the on campus girls. On the flip side you have dudes that when they get their NIL they are thinking “Man I never want this to stop, let me lock in more.” You have 20 year olds who have opened SEP- IRA’s after getting NIL which speaks volumes on where their mind is at and how they have a long term view on life already.
Rafael, I’m not letting you off the hook. I’m still waiting to hear from your reaction to Summer League.
@@mikejones9906 Go to NBAbigboard.com I wrote about it there..
@@LockedOnNBABigBoard I would like to see you guys break down some film in the future and tell us the pros and cons of prospects.
@@mikejones9906 we can’t because we’ll get flagged for copyright strikes and those videos can’t be monetized. My personal channel has 16 or 17k subs but as I grew I kept getting flagged and my videos weren’t making any money. Of it doesn’t make dollars it doesn’t make sense.
Savo Drezgic on my radar now. Julius Price sounds like a good 2026 guy.
To participate in that "basketball without borders" camp was pretty dumb idea on Ben Saraf's part... He was rather seriously injured and didn't play in the league for like 3 weeks before this camp. Not only he risked to get his injury worse, he seems to play at like 25% of his ability and only harmed his draft stock...
the guys held things down while you were away, but it's good to have you back. My prayers go out to you, your family and loved ones.
Rafael, first I want to really wish your wife to get fully healed. I was so happy to hear things are going better, you look a great person and I'm praying for your family to put it behind and live fully peaceful life. I really enjoyed this episode! Ben Saraf in particular was so impressive in this tournament. Am I crazy to rate him higher than Nolan Traore? I have both at the 5-10th range right now. Saraf hasn't only shown he has an elite shot creating skills for his age, he also surprised me in his passing and steals. The upcoming season in Ulm going to be huge for him. Can't wait to follow how he does there. Noa Essengue impressed me as well. He's so long and a fluid athlete, needs to work on his mechanics and needs to add some on-ball skills to be more than a post up creator in the NBA, but I really love the potential. Traore and Gonzales are great prospects as well. This tournament was so loaded with talent, international prospects become more and more impressive.
I'm Israeli so biased but I don't really understand why people think it's crazy to rate Saraf over Traore... Traore is obviously very very good distributor but Saraf is not bad passer himself, and quite certainly better scorer. He's also taller and not less athletic.
@@arusinov I think most draft fans didn't really know Ben Saraf prior to the FIBA U-18, so he's quite a new big name that popped out off "nowhere" to them, that's why I asked if I'm crazy to rate him over Traore who, as a French player, was on the draft radar for longer. I think Saraf has a chance to become a complete all around player. I view his ceiling as something between Ginobili and SGA if he developed well.
@@liambrook7156 yes... but Saraf was the best scorer (2+ ppg more than 2nd best) and all- tournament 5 selection in 2022 Euro U-16. He didn't play in 2023 U18 because of injury but he is the only prospect which really actually played full season (not just 9 games run as Traore, not speaking of others) in very strong professional league as important player in rotation averaging 10.7 ppg, and the team reached Israeli top division semifinals - other teams in semifinals were Euroleague playoff team Maccabi Tel Aviv, EuroCup top-8 team Hapoel Tel Aviv,.and 2022/23 FIBA "Champions league" runner-up Hapoel Jerusalem
@@arusinov Good info. How do you explain it he was this under the radar until then?
@@liambrook7156 Probably people underestimate Israeli top division which is while not one of the best leagues in Europe still very good one (barely worse than German, Greece or Italian top leagues). Also it seems that his showing in "basketball without borders" camp was not good at all... which reminds that playing injured is typically not great idea (he was injured in league game on 31/1, was expected to miss around month, didn't play in Kiryat-Ata games in February but for some reason participated in the camp on 20/2 -21/2 - just to look his vertical measurement at just 31.5" - he clearly jumped higher on couple of dunks at this tournament)
Health and family first, you were exactly where you needed to be. Continuing to pray for your family.
So nothing about the german team and its players? The team that won the freaking tournament? The team that had by far the best starting 5 in the tournament? The team that has at least 2, maybe even 4, NBA level talents on the roster? Ok then...
We did a part two. First episode was on the guys on draft boards
@@Smido83 You’re putting too much emphasis in a tournament that lacks elite talents overall. To put it in perspective, every team in this tournament would get destroyed by 30+ points against Team USA.
@@mikejones9906 Ok kid... same way the US team full of good NBA talent, even all NBA talent destroyed every team with "lesser talent" at last years World cup... oh wait... And even if, doesnt mean that teams can not have elite talents. Just not as much as the US. Did I say EVERYONE on team germany is an NBA talent, or did I say 2, maybe 4? Typical american... to stupid to understand the point!
@@mikejones9906 What? the FIBA U-18 tournament is arguably the highest quality competition you would find at these ages besides NCAA and FIBA U-19 world cup. All the scouts are all over these FIBA U-18 games because of that.
@@guyben1657 I’m talking about collectively.
What a game from Serbia coming back on Australia... that's why I'm late to this party... anyways, Ben Saraf huh? Sounds like someone's moving up on boards...
Welcome back Rafael! Man, I'm hoping the best for you and your wife 🙏
Other than Traore, I would say the best pro prospect is Neoklis Avdalas.
He didn’t play well at the U18s
@@LockedOnNBABigBoard Yea, I think if you put him on a decent team, he would absolutely dominate.
@@mikejones9906 Greece had same record as Israel. So what’s the difference between what Saraf did and Avdalas?
@@LockedOnNBABigBoard Avdalas to me is a top 5 pick, has prototypical size, master in PnR, great athlete and shooter as well. Saraf is just a guy doing well against weak completion, I don’t think he would do well against NBA level athletes or talent.
@@mikejones9906 so why couldn’t Avdalas do the same against weak competition? The difference between the two in the tournament was huge.
