Kyle Hates Hiking

Kyle Hates Hiking

I am a huge hiking nerd. On this channel you'll find videos about hiking related mysteries/stories, backpacking gear, thru hiking, and much more.

When I was 16, I learned what the Appalachian Trail was. Being an ambitious teenager, I decided that one day I was going to attempt the trek from Georgia to Maine. I realized that goal in 2018, and have hiked thousands of additional miles since.

Na mate you need a waterproof boot. You can't constantly have wet feet you be ruined . Every pudle you walk through be pouring soaking wet mud over the top. I carry water shoues for when i go into rivers but allso they dry so quick ive got something light to ware around camp if the grass isnt wet . But dry gound is a rare phenomenon. Its like having an inner pitch 1st tent completely useless you cant put it up in the rain..

A concerning percentage of the population forgets that ALL dogs are dangerous and unpredictable beasts given the right (or wrong) conditions. But mostly they just picture pitbulls as the problem.

Im sorry, but this could have been so easily avoided. She "got tired, lay down and woke up, and it was dark?????" Think of the man-hours and cost involved in a large search like this.

Why did Barnes choose Mt Rainer? Because it sits there on Seattle skyline. He had no real thinking being done, he was going someplace to die.

Even if the gate was staffed it was staffed by a GS-4 or 5 at best that is not a LEO position and not likely to get a notice of someone fleeing the police unless there was likely chance they would be heading there. And even then remember, that person is not law enforcement so an actual LE Ranger would be posted there for that interaction. The people at the gate are there to take your money and tell you what the cool things are to see.

Why in the hell would two grown men allow a child to walk away from them in that situation?? How?? No one I know would have ever let that child leave their sight unattended!! They including myself, would keep that child with me until someone responsible for him was located!! Even then I would demand to see some sort of evidence they were somehow related to the boy or legally responsible for him.

The first one may have involved him investigating possible poachers. It's a problem in parks like that, much bigger than most people know. The mistake made if that were true is he should have radioed in to let people know what he was doing.

I think is that none of these are strange. The aren't exactly mysterious -- we just have gaps in our knowledge. The only thing that makes them sound strange are the words used to describe the incidents. Accidents happen in the wilderness, and since no one was there to see what happened, we'll just never know.

Why do people like this fool get mad at God❓God didn’t make this dummy go hiking with no partner, alone. He did that by himself. He should’ve been mad at himself for being a fool. I don’t feel bad for this dummy. He knew the risks and he still decided to continue. He brought his death on himself. What a fool, he could still be alive. All of this for what point❓🤔

Any idea where the photo in the thumbnail is from? Considering the stories, the promoting thumb nail seems a bit questionable. I don't recall seeing it used in the actual video. I hope it's not a case of clickbait, similar to the title of the Video. It's almost, like they made an error and that photo and title, were meant for another video. What do you guys think?

26:00 Why not call the National park and ask them? This would be considered Journalism and if you did this, you would not have to ask your viewers for information confirmation. Could you imagine what would happen, if Walter Cronkite stopped his reporting and asked the viewers to answer questions. Just like you just did. If you were an amateur storyteller, I would let it go but as soon as you receive money, for your 'services' you have people to answer to and need to do better than this, to retain our interest. I'm sorry to be so harsh but constructive criticism is a great way to hone your craft and improve your content. Have a good night.

17:26 Is there a reason you can't call/contact the camp ground, or National park?? This way you could cut down on assumptions. Because the way your videos go, it seems like you are just scouring the internet, finding interesting stories and then you read other articles, maybe look at a few maps and then present the story to the viewer, like an actual Journalist would. Am I incorrect? Do you add anything to other people's work? Do you pay them, or at the very least, get permission, before 'going to press'? Do you conduct interviews, contact people who may be experts on the subject or am I just watching someone orating information that is freely available on the internet. Please, like I said earlier. Correct me if I'm wrong because as it stands: You get paid for 5+ minute ads and then collect other people's work and repackage it? Is that not plagiarism? Are you paying the article writers, whose work you present to us? I'm guessing others would like to know the answers to my questions? Also, your video titles are very well done, if you are trying to fishbait viewers. How can a death be considered, 'Horrific , if the body and possible crime scene are not secured? I look forward to reading some answers to my queries. Godspeed.

The guy in story #3 made me immediately think he was having a manic episode. That paired with possible intoxication and stress of being on the run could very well lead to him making reckless, impulsive actions that made little to no sense in retrospect. Also, I don't know if they did a in-depth autopsy because he could've dropped dead due to a phenomenon called excited delirium. It seems weird he was face down rather than curled up so it makes me think he just dropped dead because of something like excited delirium rather than just hypothermia.

My brother disappeared on a hike in 1983, there was only a half-hearted search because our parents weren't rich. The rangers had a letter he had wrote to us saying exactly where he planned to go but they didn't search anywhere near that area.
