Bloody hell 25,000 yrs ago the ice melted was that due to global warming🤔 i did the NC500 a few years back when scotland had few Convid restrictions .
Brilliant Thank you.....thank u from Japan..........
Nice video. I live in Kilmarnock. Next time your welcome to pop in for a cuppa!
Love the route, done it for the last 2 years in march, very quiet at that time of year

Wow. That was a good trip. Beautiful place. Hopefully someone will sponsor you to do this full time . Thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed it. I hope to do the same soon.
I'm just down the road in Blaenau Ffestiniog. As you say we're so lucky to have all this as our back garden.
I have been in North Wales for over 30 years and it never ceases to keep me amazed. Beautiful!
Great vlog buddy was a pleasure to take the trip with you. Most enjoyable. I've done these roads with my better half by car, but never on the bike. As yet ..... Awesome part of the planet. Must say. You're a brave soul doing the trip in winter. But nice and quiet though.... Bonus Shiny side up brother .... 🫡
Thanks for the generous comments. Yup, winter tests the gear and senses! Glad you enjoyed it and hope you get to bike it also.
Blissful therapy!
It looks great! I’m going to go there too when I get my Himalayan 411 😀
Great bike to do it on and other trips too I would add! Hope you enjoy the 411 it as much as I do. Happy travels!
@@BackRoadBimbles Thank you!
Lovely laconic delivery. Good wee video. Thanks.
Thanks for the compliment. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Good couple of videos, looks lovely in Scotland. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. I am glad you enjoyed following my adventure.
Enjoyed that and the geology info. Should be up the west coast of Scotland the week after next but might have to cut it short and if so it’ll be Wales the north for me beautiful country. Thanks for the video
I am glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you get out to the west coast as it is absolutely stunning! Failing that - North Wales also absolutely stunning! Thanks again.
Cracking! absolutely loved both parts, thank you! 😊
Glad you enjoyed them, had lots of fun making these so have a few more in the pipeline. Thanks for watching!
Another cracking video. Great follow up. I am seriously enjoying these.
Thanks very much for the compliment. I am glad you enjoyed my little jolly!
Wow.. Camping in earlly March.. let alone the NC500. Brilliant video. Loved it. Well done.
You can tell that you are riding out of season.... because the viewing points and lay by's are not full of camper vans. Wherever there is an amazing vista or a view that deserves a photograph, you can be sure there will be a camper van parked right in the middle of it with someone enjoying a leisurely cup of tea / lunch and in no hurry to leave... I mean, look at that view! Brilliant trip, thanks for taking us along. P.s. there is more of a chance of finding petrol in the Highlands than there is in North Wales!
I dread to think whats it’s like on a bank holiday weekend! Quite true about North Wales petrol. I have had a few moments thinking how easy my bike would be to push to Betws Y Coed if it came to it 😂. I am glad you enjoyed the videos. Thanks :)
@@BackRoadBimbles when I rode the NC500. I diverted off the route near Tongue as the weather was what my dad would have called dreich. I could tell the moment I rejoined the recognised route as the camper count shot up... and I was there in mid September. Hoping to be back in Scotland in May and North Wales in Sept as Snowdonia and I have unfinished business... remember last Easter? Me too. Snow, motorbikes and the pass at Llanberis do not make for a good time.
Wonderful! I have been visiting Scotland since before I could walk and talk, these days I get there as often as possible by motorbike, a VStrom 650. I use motorways as little as possible and did the NC500 plus in 2021. My last night in Scotland was in Kirkcudbright and I rode South via Carlisle, Penrith, round Kendal down to Lancaster etc. Preston was a nightmare on a hot Saturday and I vowed to avoid it via the M6 in the future. Next time you go up, cut across into Yorkshire and pick up the A7 or A68, both really excellent roads, also try to make it into the Cairngorms.... stunning. As for single track roads... yup, about 30 mph average, even when empty. Looks like a fantastic trip, thanks for taking us along. P.s. Also a Beeline user... love it.
Hi I've done these routes many many times and it never gets old 👍👍....fairly close to scotland i live north Cumbria....if you ever get chance these are some of my fave destinations isle mull.. hebrides...and shetland they are amazing...didnt do them on my himalayan 😉😊 suzuki vstroms 1050 /650 ....sold my first himalayan total regret so I've got another 👌👌atb
Totally agree, went to mull on my fazer in 2006 (i think). Lovely place, especially Iona. Loads of hidden gems in Scotland so intend to explore more in the future on the Himalayan. Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed that. Cheers
I am glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
Fair play to you doing it in March and on the equivalent of a 2 humped camel. That's not an insult by the way but making the similarity of may not be the quickest but can cover a big distance between fuel stops.
I had the roads to myself in March and it was a totally unplanned trip due to work forcing me to take untaken leave from last year. I like the camel analogy, I have ridden a camel, albeit one with one hump, and I can say the Himmy is far comfier and not as grumpy. Thanks for watching.
Great vid
Thanks for the positive feedback, I am glad you enjoyed it
Hi. What’s the wee circular thing on the bar pls?
It’s a Beeline Moto GPS, small and simple, just like me!
😂sounds like my bit of kit mate 😂. Looking forward to another video 👍🏼
Sad to see the faithful fazer go but the himmy will open up new road choices. Where is the location of the swing bridge you rode over ….? Ride safe
The Fazer was agreat bike and had dome great adventures, but the Himmy wants me to go off track more often and its easier to handle on any loose stuff. The bridge is over port dinorwic marina
Great vid and very inspiring Please tell me what the arrow / direction thing is on your handlebars , never seen one before ! Thanks
Hi there!! Thanks for the compliments. The direction device is a Beeline Moto. I plan to do a video on it soon as it is a great bit of kit.
Fair play to you doing it in march
Thanks, I think it made it a proper adventure, also I had most roads to myself.
A great trip and as others have said well done camping in March. The himmy is the bike for such great adventures
At least it was on grass
Glad to report there was no damage.👍
