@@biggringo5279 i believe you, mr. gringo. maybe i was spoiled growing up in the 70s when the stones were gritty and always breaking some ground. you would not believe the number of bands i have seen over the years, but i hadn't seen the stones until that show i mentioned in the 00s. i was really looking forward to it, but the biggest high point of the evening was when my buddy's GF went around giving lap dances to strangers. she was the only sign of life that evening.

She's definitely lip syncing. I noticed she started doing it the first few shows after covid. I also saw it when I saw her live 2 years ago but not on all songs. She can still sing pretty well in a lower key, but I'd rather hear bad vocals than have her fake it. I am a fan, and it's great she's still active, but I wouldn't pay to hear the same repeated set list lip synced again.

Genuinely glad The Stones are still at it (and "Hackney Diamonds" is their best album in DECADES.) BUT, I can't be the only one who senses the sluggish tempo here for "Start Me Up." I can only assume the rest of their set was also 15% slower than original. I have no answer to these questions, but: are they purposely slowing things down, because the songs are easier to play slower? Or has their perception of tempo been affected by... time? (They are NOT the only "legacy band" who play their songs noticeably slower.) Thanks for posting, Big Gringo.

I would say that this is closer to the studio pace than what they played live in the 1980s. Bands have been known to modify the pace of the song based on whatever pace the drummer or guitar player set for that given night. I don't think it lost any dramatic effect - I saw it live and it was incredible!
@MrEthe69Ай бұрын
I was there, yes the first 2 songs (SMU & Get off my cloud) were a little slow and sluggish. Like if they weren't warmed up yet. But then, song #3 was "Bitch" and that one was rockin' and much faster/livelier. From then on the rest of the set was amazing. I guess when you're 80 years old you gotta wait a few minutes for your adrenaline to kick in
