Will be interesting. Good info
Mistake that Slipped through, Michkovs Competition for ROTY is not going to be Bedard and Fantilli. Sorry, Will be Better.
I would think that So Cal would be more diverse than Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, or whatever.
Most of Canada tbh hahaha.. the kid is just ignorant, simple as that.. clearly just has attitude problems if he also is mentioned not behaving appropriately with teammates lol..
Great Video I'm definitely subscribing for more videos
wow but they don't anything when people support the murder of children such a double standard.
Bros gonna get decked his first game
Who cares.... Everyone has said mean things. 😅 Get over yourselves
OMG, a swastika! Gimma a break. Free, Free Palestine Free, Free Palestine Toot, toot, to.. to.. toot!
I watched this video thinking he was some kind of criminal or something. Who cares what language he uses or symbols he post. This is America we can do this. Get over it.. diversity training! You mean social justice brain washing! FUUUK the NHL!
Another Mitchell miller
He always respected my kid.
He was just being a kid, I'm not seeing the giant issue here other than possibly bullying
Let him be, he was a kid at that time. We all change our views as we get a little more mature. Pier pressure, and hockey itself puts so much pressure on these kids these days. Let his game speak for who he truly is.
i go to bishops courney
What’s so bad about him?
Wtf are they putting in the water in tri-city 😂
What race is Gary Bettman?
To make amends he was circumsized by a rabbi with an ice skate. Leave the kid alone damn...hypocritical comments with room temp IQ backing
One year in Roch, then see where he's at.
Did I miss about his unforgivable mistake that make junior team USA lose the title?
say what now
He’s 18. He wasn’t on the USA world juniors team, and hasn’t been involved with the world juniors yet. USA won gold last year. The “world junior A challenge” is a different tournament entirely.
@@ClappinBiscuits It was the U18 World Championship (not the World Junior Championship), but yes. In the gold medal game, the U.S. was leading Canada 3-2 with just under 11 minutes left. Canadian player Ryder Ritchie was battling (with a different American player) to get the puck out of his defensive zone when Connelly threw an elbow directly to his head. If you're not familiar with IIHF hockey, their officials are known to have absolutely zero tolerance for head hits. Connelly was assessed a 5 minute major and game misconduct, ending his game and his tournament. On that 5 minute powerplay, Canada would score three times - the latter two goals within a minute of each other - to take a 5-3 lead. Canada would go on to win 6-4, taking the gold medal.
What amazes me is how we dont want clowns like this on the ice because of some bs they did as a kid, but our politicians do worse as adults, and it doesn't bother us they make decisions on our behalf
Yeah California is not diverse, what a terrible take.
Holy hell what a bunch of crap. For a Snapchat at 16 yr old? How many billions of dollars have been sent to a country that have full on Bandera worshipping element of their government? I clearly remember the Canadian Parliament inviting a legit nazi soldier. But a snapchat post at 16yo? Gtfo.
He doesn’t give two shits about being a better person it’s all just an act to put on so he can make it to the nhl come on I’m not stupid he’s a fake person racist, bully nah dude he don’t care about anyone but himself, no one deserves a second chance that’s like saying in a relationship I know I cheated but I want a second chance I’ll change, they always end up cheating again they don’t change
it was snap people take it as a joke like i bet the generations before were making racist jokes amongst themselves yall are acting like he killed someone
Bro he was I kid when he did these things get over it, I’m 15 and me and my friends say the most racist shit every and no one gives a shit about it
Nope! He’ll always have a place with the Edmonton Oilers 😂😂😂
Bro went from edge lord to first round draft pick. Never thought I’d see the day
Fans never forget
Here's my opinion. The guy has done some questionable things yes, but so have everyone else. There are so many other kids that have done worse, but those kids aren't getting drafted in the first round are they? This is not a violation of the Freedom of Speech or Expression as many of you have noted, but there's no rule stating you can't not let a kid on your team because he's said/done questionable things. @albanianantivirus6849 said it perfectly. He's not behind bars. As for Vegas drafting him early despite his past, it's simple. They believe he's had enough of a notable change, and if he ends up being a good player both on and off the ice then good for them. If he hasn't changed in a few years, he's their problem now and they know than damn well. I personally don't believe he did anything too significantly bad, but you never really know who you're letting on your team until you've let them in already, that's why coaches are so harsh with past actions.
if you didn't say some edgy stuff when your were a teen you didn't have a good time
Since there aren’t as many high-level hockey prospects from California, hockey players from California naturally don’t know there is anything wrong with supporting Nazis. Yes, this video actually tries to make this argument.
he made 1 post as a joke how is that supporting them
its not that deep
No one wants to root for a POS
Agreed
teenage boys draw swastikas and say racist stuff all the time
Even if this guy was the projected first overall pick, i would not take him
anybody but with half brain cell who has also been 15 before would
Man you're soft ood was making a joke
Since when did having an opinion become illegal? Free speech is a double edged sword. It's not "some free speech is acceptable" It means all language is accepted.
you’re a disgrace to all Americans
It's not illegal, but it's also not illegal to not want someone on your team for those reasons.
yall acting like he’s in jail lmao
what did he say that was an "opinion"? 😂
Freedom of speech according to the constitution goes as far until it turns into hate speech, freedom of speech does not equate to freedom from judgement as well as actions can be made against speech that can be considered hateful
Americans and Canadians are soft, so much for freedom of speech and expression!
yea i dont him behind bars right now so, not sure where you are a seeing a restriction of freedom of expression
Maybe so, but you're not legally obligated to let someone on your team despite past issues.
Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from judgment, as much as he’s free to say what he wants, people are free to judge him for what he says. Freedom of speech goes both ways, it’s not one sided dude. I agree that it’s a bit soft to write someone off just because of a stupid joke but this has nothing to do with freedom of speech
What does this have to do with freedom of speech? It's not like he was censored. Freedom of speech ≠ freedom from judgement.
You’re F up in the head
To be clear, I'm not defending Connelly's actions. But I HATE when content creators feign concern about athlete behavior, when truth is you're only drawing attention to the worst decisions of a dumb teenager bc controversial topics = attention & ad revenue.
I can't believe the Red wings passed up on this guy
the worst mistake in VGK history
VGK does not keep prospects. This is a Vegas pick. They picked him with the 100% intention of trading him. They will develop him a bit, maybe, and trade him. He won't be around long. I believe it's a "young kids in vegas = bad" so they don't really keep prospects at this time, with the way they built the team. Vegas has massive advantages to draw in players and free agents, so I believe they use that to their advantage.
@@robotba89 no one is trading for this bum, everybody knows he's not making the league
The worst mistake in Vegas history is their franchise being granted
@@robotba89The problem is no other teams want him. They are gonna have a really hard time trading him. Players are starting to see how badly Vegas treats their players and are far less interested than they used to be.
Trading Suzuki? 😂
@6:15 To excuse this by saying "California is a non-traditional hockey market" is crazy. There are plenty of Californians playing professional hockey, and anyone who knows anything about California would know there are plenty of diverse backgrounds and positions in the state.
When he said "less exposure to diversity prospectives and experiences" I knew he didn't know what he was talking about because california is the most diverse state in the country.
I had the same exact thought lol
I was thinking the same shit 😂 southern california is so culturally diverse wtf is he talking abt
Bro are you dumb California is not a traditional hockey market anyone that actually knows hockey knows that
The sun is rising. No longer do the western youth bow down to degeneracy and subversive forces 💪
Any kind of therapy that's done under duress is worthless. He knew that he had to do all of those things or he was dead in the water. Do them, say the right things, and the problem will go away. He did them, he said the right things and he was drafted in the first round by Las Vegas. He also cost the US the gold medal in the recent U18 tournament. He had the opportunity to take an unnecessary cheap headshot at a Canadian player when the US had a comfortable lead, and he did so. The resulting five minute penalty led to three Canadian goals, and a Canadian victory. It seems that in times of stress it's all about him, and what he wants to do in the moment. He may well turn into a great teammate, hockey player and human being. All I know is that I wouldn't have drafted him in the last round never mind the first. My prediction is that he won't learn, and he will create more unneeded turmoil. He will score lots of goals but ultimately he will still be bad for his team. Then someone else will take a chance ... Rinse and repeat.
You will not find a nicer guy in the NHL. A hard working man who spends alot of his time at the childrens hospital playing with the kids.
Can’t wait for Adam fox jake Walman he’ll even Quinn Hughes to give this guy a good old fashion fuckin hit
For what? It's not like this kid is an ANFIA terrorist..They are the biggest most violent group of fascists in the nation. This kid just made some stupid choices when we was what 15, 16 years old? Get off your high horse!
i hope fox fights him
@@TheJimmyStDenisShow LOL, Fox doesn't care. He knows leftist witch hunts when he sees them.
@@TheJimmyStDenisShow Fox wouldn't fight Jack Hughes dude, he's not fighting anyone
connelly deserves everything that comes to him
Crazy wow racist people like this get coddled like that if it was a different country or race wldnt be drafted at all but he’s American so its ok if I still played and played against him he wldnt regret every racist thing he said and did , but then again it’s not the kids fault its the parents fault they are the ones who raised him and taught him and molded him into what he is today. Good video though also a sub from this person
He was 15 lol. Let's not say you never did anything you regret at the age of 15. You aren't perfect, nobody is. Sometimes people deserve a little grace and a second chance, and he was given that. Not everyone needs to be burned at the stake for things that didn't hurt anything but liberal feelings.
Please sir, do tell me what virtuous country exists where super talented people aren't given more leeway than everyday people? I meam you said if it was a different country or different race he'd never have gotten drafted, please tell us what country is so woke they refuse to overlook mistakes made by a teenager. And I love how you said if you still played and if you played against him, he'd have regretted everything bad he said 😂😂😂 First, you could never make the USHL, NTDP, NCAA D1 or the NHL. And even if you did, I'm 100% certain you'd do absolutely nothing of the sort & Connelly would absolutely wax you in any altercation. So many internet tough guys today, it's crazy 😂😂😂
Word salad. Bloviating.
What a dumb comment
@@JNJ1014yeh I guess been 6’1 220 when I was that age so yeh ur right I wldnt do anything wldnt have to cause he wldnt be doin it in the first place, but sorry for cutting you wit that comment u must stand behind that same symbol he does if it hurt u that bad don’t worry I don’t blame u it’s how u were raised from mommas tit
I really enjoyed this video! You just earned a subscriber. Hope you make more vids like this!
Leave it to Vegas to draft a Nazi..
i think calling him a nazi is to jump t conclusions but yeah he posted his friend being a dipshit and made light of it and was kind of stupid. also FUCK YOU VEGAS
@@verskudoesthings people against him have never been kids

I think if there was clear stats available for his ability to hinder opponents scoring leaders. That Hart trophy might be closer. But as it is pretty much scoring leader trophy, I doubt Barkov will ever be rewarded with that.

Great story
Sliding down in the draft may be disappointing to a player the day of the draft, but it's really a good thing because the further he slides, the better the team he is going to. Take another Islander pick from long ago. Mike Bossy slid to 15th his draft year while being the best goal scorer in juniors. Nobody picked him because he "couldn't play defense". In sliding down he went to a team on the verge of winning 4 straight Stanley Cups. He could have been picked by the Colorado Rockies instead and played his career with a team that struggled to win 20 games a season.
