  Love the connection of the weight stack to the Smith Machine! Also the ability to add additional weight plates to the Smith Machine as well. Aluminum pulleys are a big plus. Love the leg press feature and the knee holder pad attachment. A couple of suggestions for the future: 1) place the attachments at the front of the machine, not in the back. It seems annoying to have to go behind the machine to get the attachments, especially if the user placed the unit up against a wall. 2) I wish there were an option to switch the pulleys from 2:1 to 1:1, like available on other units on the market. At 2:1 ratio of 198 lbs per stack, that's only 99 lbs of resistance, not enough for some exercises (like seated rows) for some people . I know there's the option of purchasing the gym-pin to add plates to the weight stack, but other units on the market have larger weight stacks, so 198 lbs seems small, especially for more serious lifters.

  Looks we missed it! ☺ It features two weight stacks of 198lbs each! Weight stacks can be used with the functional trainer pulleys, but it can also be connected to the smith machine.

  Does this have a weight multiplier to be able to go above 2:1 weight limit for things like squats?

  Thank you for your inquiry about our equipment. Unfortunately, the SD5000 is limited to a 2:1 ratio. We do offer a weight stack pin attachment that allows you to add an additional 80 pounds on each side. This brings the maximum weight capacity to 556 pounds on both sides.   Looks like very good quality , Is it possible to use free weight with barbell? Only one thing I warry about it's a inside size of the Smith barbell at maximum grip. What size it is?

  Doesnt look like you can add any plates to it. That might be the only deal breaker for me. Once you're maxing out the stack then you're hooped. Incredible idea but big missed opportunity to not allow additional weight.

  This is by "Amstaff"! There is no website, customer service. When you type it in on google search, it gives you an american dog. Does aneone know the weight capacity on the cables. Nothing is written in the description ore the assembly paperwork, which is very difficult to figure out.

  The problem with them is; you can't get them close enough to the squat/bench press stands for them to be under the bar with those short pads.

  I noticed there was a locking pin that goes in the top hole, and then there is the spotter arm. I am curious what is the height, of the spotter arm in the top hol, while removing the pin and placing it underneath the spotter arm. essentially i am looking for the height of the arm to see if it can be used to bench press.

  What I've done is use the locking pins under the spotter arms. You can also put the pins through the bottom of the spotter arms. That way you also have extra support for the spotter arms. The pins will still hold the squat stands. If you don't want to readjust the top squat stands each time you move the spotter arms, you can insert 1/4" x 3" bolts into the top holes to hold the squat stands in place.
