  I did shift+lift (lifting whole tracks) and just drop without shift, no merge tracks.

  oh yeah, I usually set masterEQ on key 7 - maybe you mentioned. you can tweek them and assign masterEQ + masterFX while pushing memokey 7-8. hope that helps you!
