Bonjour New Friends!
We’ve finally found our 19th century forever home, a 430 square metres home on 1 hectare of land along the Hautes-Pyrénées in a quiet hamlet. Join us in our adventures exploring charming villages and discovering the serenity of nature in the mountains. Also in our petit slice of the #frenchcountryside, I’ll share our remodeling and landscaping process along with my one of my favorite pastimes, hunting for French antiques from French flea markets, vide~greniers and brocantes, I love it all!
For landscape and nature lovers, slow living and interior decoration enthusiasts this channel is for you!

Such beautiful transferware and cutlery! Cheers!
Just the saddest news hearing of Laffy/s passing. All dogs go to heaven and you will see him again. Sending much love!
Adore your kitchen and pantry options.....just so simple and elegant! The Smeg appliances are stunning as well so might copy our simple design ideas when installing a "new" kitchen in my Loire Lavender Barn conversion. The orchard will soon begin to give you the most wonderful fruits......so I expect to see you canning fruits and making jams soon. What a treat that will be for you and Justin PLUS your B&B guests. Again, a stunningly beautiful vlog and so happy to get the tour of the kitchen and pantries! Cheers!
Bonjour Jill! Thank you for following our progress! Many may not remember that the kitchen was once the pig pen. 🤣 It has the lowest ceilings and the narrowest space compared to our other rooms below but it’s perfect and a manageable work space. How will we will be able to see your progress? Will you have a channel? Instagram to share your progress? We did google your fabrics… lovely. All the best with your Loire collaboration.
@@Frenchcountryfriends What a coincidence!!!!! My kitchen area has an old piggery on the back of the barn, so I'll convert that nice area into a 1/2 bath, laundry room and pantry. I'll probably do instagram and facebook to keep you informed. The British chap doing my renovation has a youtube channel, so he'll include some of my construction projects on his channel. I;ll give you a hoot when we start filming! Cheers!
Lovely vlog! Adore the new painting and the frame you chose! As for your own artwork, stunning! Cheers!
A stunning village and church which does look like a chateau! The painting is lovely but the frame distracts from it. I think the frame needs to be a very simple wooden or gold frame. Always enjoy your videos! As for restoring the painting, I am not an artist but if you help by repairing damage or missing pieces of paint, what is the harm? It's not a Van Gogh but even some of the great masters need re=touches at times. Follow you heart and follow your eye.......and your eyes and heart are quite tender! Hope that Justin does not have any more close calls with the tree trimming. Cheers!
What a successful day! So great to see Justin scour the vendors displays and zero in on what catches his eye! You have created a monster, but a great monster! HA! What a great hobby these hunts have turned into for you both! You've taught me to widen my vision when looking for treasures! Love the Favorite Finds in each of your eyes! Just such fun! Cheers!
Such a lovely vlog!!! As for the plate cupboard, it is charming and should live right where it is! Cheers!
So great to see you and Marloes together and YES, your decorating tastes are very similar. I admire your ability to be a minimalist and adhere to a limited color scheme,,,,,something I have never been able to do! I have followed her vlog for a few years now and so enjoy her brocanting and renovation projects as well......plus her yearning for knowledge and wandering. I actually found your channel from watching her channel! Lucky me! Cheers!
Love that cognac set!!!!!!
Really love your BB&B idea and you items you have purchased for the boutique are so lovely. Have you even thought of offering some of the antique linen sheets and pillowcases? I seem to pick up 6-10 of these large sheets every time I'm in France. They ae super for bedding but also great as tablecloths and dust covers for furniture when you're away for a few weeks. I often cut them up into bath towels as vintage cotton and linen makes lovely guest towels. Some of the beautiful monogrammed sheets can be made into large Euro pillows as well. I only cut up the ones that are badly soiled or ripped.....known as "cutters" .....to sew into other products. Anyway, really enjoying your vlogs and you sweet country home.
Thank you Jill. I have a mild addiction to antique French linens for sheets and pillow cases. Those I hoard for myself and share with our guests. 🤭 I once sold a baby set and set of antique tea towels but after I couldn’t resist keeping all the linen for myself. Thank you some sharing some ideas with me! The quality and thickness of old linen can’t be matched….
@@Frenchcountryfriends I resemble that statement! Adore the antique linens but also imported beautiful Russia linen to the US for many years and that was great fun...... Until Russia invaded the Crimea during the Sochi Olympics and then NO ONE wanted anything from RUSSIA!!!!! You can see a few of my products if you Google RUSSIA HOUSE COLLECTION......the shop no longer exists but the photos live on! I'm working with a chateau south of Limoges on developing a line of lovely linen products made from the "cutters" in French linen sheets that she can sell with her own private label and chateau motif. I'll send you photos when those get sewn! Cheers!
Looks lovely ~Great ideas! 9:44 🌼
Lots of clever decorating has made this space go from sterile and cold to welcoming and warm.very nicely done!
Thank you for sharing your comment with us. 😊 We’ll see how this space transforms in the future…
You may want to place a piece of marble or mirror (cut to size) on top of the radiator as a shelf.
Great idea!
How lovely! Next time I visit, I'd love to go to one of these markets. Additionally, I see a p**** in that flat rectangular piece!
What a beautiful town.
Yes, you must treasure your good friends! Your 80’s bathroom turned out great!! You’ve inspired me to add some nice touches to my 80’s bathroom. We have an 80’s bathroom in our home in California, and we can’t completely remodel it just yet. We have just remodeled the 80’s kitchen so the bathroom has to wait a little longer. Plus we’ve been doing so many renovation projects at our property in France too.😊
Yes! Thank you! Happy renovating, I hope the experience hasn’t been stressful.
It actually turned out quite good! 🙌🏻 The juxtaposition between modern and rustic is a vibe. And the sun hitting the silver pitcher…😍
Thank you! 😊
I understand your BLRRP at seeing this garden snake......they startle me as well but I love the fact that they are in the garden. Beautiful stables and they will be stunning when cleaned out and repurposed. Cheers!
What a great clear out! The whole space looks amazing and it is charming! As for the wood flooring, be sure to treat ALL the flooring for woodworm as these little critters will love to chomp on your new wood floor repairs as well as all your furniture Cheers!
Just recently found your channel and adore it! I've started binge watching your videos from the beginning to get the whole story. I love your monochromatic and minimalist style but have been unable to do the same with my decors and collections. We share a love of antique French linens and I purchase 8-10 sheets on every visit to France. Will not have to haul them back in suitcases anymore as will soon close on longere in the Loire Valley in a few weeks. It has just one room and a large barn attached but electric, water and good roof and septic in place. A deee[ clean and clear out ahead but will have a nice space when starting the conversion of the barn. Cheers!
Bonjour Jill? Thanks for joining us! Oh Loire Valley is absolutely charming. I can imagine all the wonderful places for brocanting. Happy Moving in!
Surprising what difference a few well chosen items makes - the bathroom looks just lovely im sure any guest would be pleased to use it thanks for sharing ❤
Ahh thank you!
That is such a pretty hose and hangar set. Very posh. I have a nice fabric type hose that shrinks up to an easy hose to deal with. No kinking whatsoever. You really warmed up the bathroom with items made of natural materials. I love the shell dish.
Thank you! Yes we use fabric hoses also. Those are great but when we need to use 2-3 they get tangled easily. I’ll need a hose carrier for them eventually. The Garden Glory Hoses are fabulous for aesthetics purposes.
Wow! Nice, really nice work💕
Beautiful! I think the word you were looking for is rustic.
Yes raw was funny 🤣 I think I had my mind on the frayed edges of the round jute.
I knew you would do your magic and transform this empty space into a warmer place. And yes, old or new good friends are important for our well-being and especially if you can be yourself. 🍃
🕊️
LOOKS GREAT!
lovely!
Thank you for watching this one Alma! 🕊️
Good job!! Love the way you hide the lights behind the woven fans! :)
Thanks! 😊
The way you've covered the lamps makes such a difference!
I appreciate reading this thanks! 🙏
Hi guys! I love watching you videos...all of them, from work around your beautiful home, to all your shopping adventures. I enjoy with my morning coffee. 😊 The little green cabbage bowl you have.....my husband and I received a larger one as a wedding gift 44 years ago. It's exactly the same, but ours has a ladle and a larger saucer underneath. It's a soup turn and from Portugal. Very cute piece. Keep the videos coming! Greetings from Edmonton Alberta 👋🇨🇦
Hello! Thank you for sharing this with us. After I google lens it, I was able to confirm that is a vintage Portugal bowl. I love it so much I decided to keep it. We appreciate the encouragement, thank you! ❤️
I’m very intrigued by your French Country estate. Are you going to try growing the orchid organically?
Thank you! Absolutely and besides, we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves if we didn’t let orchard growth happen naturally! 🫣 🤣
I enjoy going along w/ you to see the different French villages that I haven’t been to. I also love seeing your great finds too!🤍
I'm so glad you enjoy our little adventures, your support encourages our efforts to share these videos. Thank you!!!!
Great finds and great rapport
Thank you for joining us!
Loved that town so picturesque .. I’m forgiving you both the choux a moment of weakness we won’t mention P lol 😊
Although I have thoroughly enjoyed your next-level styling on your brocante finds, very beautiful videography, I am choosing to unsubscribe due to your finding humor in an item that brought incredible discomfort to an innocent animal (Justin "I hope the story is true") in regards to the Vache Muzzles. Just not my kind of people.
@ellaaltman2137 we appreciate that you enjoyed our previous videos and wish you well. I did indeed hope that what I was told was true that they were cow muzzles used by the farmers in the 1920’s and it wasn’t someone trying to tell me a story and that they were actually used for something else (like a small waste basket).
Thank you for the video and sharing your story…very interesting ❤️❤️❤️
Enjoy your videos, thank you 🙏
Thank you for watching! 💕
Hi guys how much will you price that antique tureen? and how much for shipping to Boca FL ?? Ty 💙
Hello! We’ve listed it for 160 and it would cost 50 euros to ship. ❤️
Thank you 💕
Always enjoy your videos. What is the title of the song with this?
Thank you! It’s by Aaron Sprinkle, Walking Back.
do you have the addresses for the brocante places ? such beautiful things ! I love it
No, sorry but a few places would of been Paris, Orléans, Moulin de la Mie, Limoges et La Croix Blanche.
I always look forward to your videos. 💕
Oh thank you! ❤️
🥰🇨🇦
Oh my that's so funny, you made my day because I saw something beginning with P too, loved that lovely town and your wonderful finds.
🤣🫣 Now it hard to unsee it.
Love the duck family
I love your adventures! Oooh, those artist paint brushes, amazing! Your haul was wonderful ❤
I have buyers remorse with this brushes and it’s pot!!! I hope I see him again. He was definitely a professional seller.
Aah Rue De L’Eglise St Pierre is where I am… on my little island not France🤣 love the brushes wish you had got those! ❤
What a coincidence! Yes!!! As I was telling @alittlebitfrench2022 I wish I bought the set! I didn’t bother to ask the price. 😶🌫️
What a beautiful town and outing. Really appreciate coming along. My husband broke yesterday a large french water or milk pitcher. You had one for sale before I went on vacation, but then I did not need one. Large once are not easy to find. All your finds are wonderful again. You both are such a treat to watch. ❤
Was it an antique that he broke? 🫣
No, but I had it at least 20 years and it was expensive from Watson and Kennedy at Pike Place Market. I was fond of it. It had a really nice shape. Dave watered my plants on the front porch and dropped it. No big deal really.
As always ! Your videos are so beautifully done!
We appreciate reading this, thank you!
I love going on your brocante adventures with you guys and seeing what you select. As well as getting a drive by glimpse of the beautiful villages. You have my dream life!! How did you and Justin meet and discover your shared passion? @frenchcountryfriends
Thank you for joining us! We met in Scotland, found one another in a bar and shared an instant connection. I’ve always had a passion for thrifting and when we moved here to the countryside I thought reselling would be a great source of income especially since I’ve always dreamed of owning a boutique.
What a fabulous piece of property you have. And wow, it sure grew a lot in one month based on what you told us. I too think having your step-dad finally buried in Arlington National Cemetery (where valor rests) 😢is a wonderful thing. We go there from southern Pennsylvania to visit an uncle buried there.
Thank you for sharing!🌷
