Welcome to my Channel! Here, you will find a weekly live broadcast called "At Home with Mark", where I interview musicians, gear manufacturers, KZread personalities and everything in between. Gear demos and guitar geekery also runs rampant here, so kick back and enjoy the nerdy content.

Great playing man. With this pedal and your playing I hear British Blues. Your a great guitar player. You have some right hand magic there. I will check this pedal out for sure.
@@MikeFromNashville thanks so much Mike, that is very kind of you!
It's beautiful guitar but that headstock is looks like like it's pulled from a 30s acoustic.
@@drewgraysonxoxopanda I didn’t love it at first but I absolutely love it now. When you see it in person and notice the craftsmanship it hits differently.
There are now so many pedals, few will ever hear them all, let alone try them.
@@BlueBeeMCMLXI 100% accurate
Maybe, but what does that mean to you? One could say the same thing about _people._
Rockin!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!!
9:30 shoutout! Seen a lot of shows there myself. Nice demo!
@@christollfilm608 nice, it’s such a great venue!
We’re very proud of you, son. That’s a dime, truly.
Thank you!
@@sleonse my pleasure!
Mine should be here tomorrow.

always.
Love it! Right now I don't "need" it because the IR-D has a very sweet drive, but as I get more and more into pedals, I think this flavor might suit me in the future. Nice playing BTW, and nice fiddles!
@@chrisharbin623 thanks for watching, Chris! Yeah, I was shocked how much I loved this pedal being that I don’t play high gain stuff. But there’s tons of creative room, tone wise.
Nice compostion and great solo!
@@maksymilian4057 thanks so much!!
U had me at the Revstar with p90s. The RSS02T is my favorite guitar i have ever owned. (The black finish version though) The Hard Drive sounds great! I love how versatile it can be
@@orryfishburne5326 me too man! That Revstar hangs easily with my way more expensive instruments
How big does it sound in the room? I know Josh Scott played it in his release video with a 7 string. I need something for de-tuned higher gain stuff and this looks like it fits the bill.
@@dannyllerenatv8635 man, put it this way I had to wear ear plugs because I wanted to crank my amp to feel the walls shaking. It rules!! I played it with my Open C Strat and it was stoner rock heaven
@@markhopkinsmusic Welp, time to add it to my cart then!
That strat sounded awesome!!! They all sounded great.
@@nickm.9474 thanks so much!! I love that pedal
I thought Magpie Salute was a great band until Rich Robinson ended it.
@@michaelthornburg2491 killer project!!
Sounds beautiful! What type of transistor does this one have, is it Ge (bart or Rca) or Si ( bc183l or bc108c)?? Thanks
@@jaimeramirezsolano685 Ge RCA 2N404
@@markhopkinsmusic thanks for your prompt and precise answer. I feel like I’m gonna buy one soon!
@@jaimeramirezsolano685 glad to help!
Any recommendation on house to use a fuzz like that, with a clean amp or one on the edge of break up? How are you getting that tone out of your gear if you don’t mind sharing some enlightenment on this regard. Big thx
@@jaimeramirezsolano685 I always have my amp on the edge of breakup at very least (like this scenario). But when I play live I usually push the fuzz into another overdrive- generally a bluesbreaker type circuit for me - or some sort of boost like the OCE MD Boost or the JHS Notaklon. The Fuzzlands (Wonderful Audio Technology) is also a killer fuzz that I feel you can make gnarly from a clean platform. Hope that helps!
Hi Mark, Do you notice any low end, weight, fullness loss with the 1x12 combo setup vs the head & 1x12 cab setup?
@@jimmygreen5872 not much but a little. The combo still feels huge. It’s kinda crazy, I don’t know how they do it to be honest.
How do you like this amp with pedals?
@@silvel2edge every Amplified Nation amp I’ve played takes pedals extremely well! Taylor makes exceptional amps!
@@markhopkinsmusic will my time based effects work fine both in front and in the loop? Would I need one of those “dumbleater” devices?
@@silvel2edge honestly i never use my time based effects in a loop. I probably should learn how to do that for a cleaner signal, but I only ever use Trem and Delay. Anytime I have used Taylor's amps with that stuff out front it always sounds fantastic to me. I think you'd be happy either way. You can always hit him up on IG or through their website - he's one heck of a dude!
Noice! Well done dude.
@@mmkelectrics thanks homie!! Slap any bear asses lately?
The pedal sounds great but again, dude-you are such a kick ass guitarist and that track was juiced with pure and competent 90's grunge era song writing.
Thanks man! Thats an old song of mine called “Bigger Than Love”.
Great demo! I get mine tomorrow. I can’t wait to see how it goes.
Nice!!!
Todd and I both had the same thought when we saw GNR for the first time as kids. That's why my dad bought me a 70's UNIVOX lawsuit Les Paul to learn on, which I still have. Slash is by far my biggest influence and I am proud to own both a standard Les Paul sunburst and a 57 reissue from the custom shop.
Nice!! Thanks for watching too
I have one and also a Guitarist as my main instrument and play keys in a coverband and it just sits in the mix without having to do anything
Which piano sound do you gravitate towards? Just curious because mine started as one and I switched to another.
@@markhopkinsmusic Live CF3 and sometimes Nashville
That Todd Anthony Puma is one handsome dude 😁
Absolutely no competition here strymon wins by a landslide. Walrus Audio Monument is below average quality. Its like comparing a Ford Pinto with a Lamborghini Countach.
@@wolfsoto I just got the Keeley Hydra and need to compare that with Flint. They are much closer for sure.
Fantastic conversation full of truth and fun!
Thanks so much!!
From 99 to 250, that's what all of the really good Klon clones cost. JHS, Wampler Tumnus, Tumnus Germanium, Warm Audio Centavo and the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe. I'm sure I'm missing a few, dozen! Here's the deal, over on Anderton Music thread, they did a complete comparison of all of these, excluding the JHS, directly against two Klons. They all sounded exactly identical, period! I believe the Tumnus had a little more gain and treble, which they slightly tweaked until it sounded exactly like the others. I mean there was zero difference. So, spend what you want, 99 bucks up to 5000. The secret sauce recipe has been cracked!
1000%
Just ordered it. Cant wait for the weight relief!! LOL Sounds amazing. I have all the UAFX in studio, but like the options here for live. Nicely done, Brother. Great chops.
Yes!!! It’s killer and they’ve done a bunch of great software updates from what I hear. Thanks for the kind words, man!
Awesome selections there Mark ! That Lyla /MG combo was knarly in a great way .
bunch of good ones!
Dude I love keeping it real with the budget friendly pedals. You always got to have a boss or mxr to keep the fancy boutique pedals in check. Phase 95 never leaves my board!
That's a good one! Walrus makes a great phaser too - i love the Lillian!
Love this! And I don’t even play guitar😂
Thanks for the track buddy!
Excellent, broski!
Thanks homie!
🔥 love seeing all these options in 1 video!
That fuzz kicks major ass my friend. ❤️
What I really got to know is... 😉 4:58
A little teaser. Haha
Even with all the boutique stuff, I am honestly just fine playing a gig with a morning glory and a Maxon SD-9. The red mode on the MG is honestly deeply underrated. Red mode with the gain around 8-11 o'clock is absolutely magical.
🤌 Chef’s Kiss indeed.
A bit in - how do you feel about the pedal now? Any further insight to settings or it's use/abilities in general? ( Sweetwater blowing these out @ $129 right now)
I think it’s pretty awesome, especially with a Strat and a great amp!
@@markhopkinsmusic BTW - stellar playing! - glad to see you're still diggin' it - got one on the way ( had to - ridiculous price drop!)
@@christopherkennedy873 oh man, thanks so much for the kind words!
@@markhopkinsmusicWhat's different about this pedal vs a boost with some EQ, would you say? $129 at Sweetwater baby!
@@levigonzalez2498 I’d say there’s more drive on tap with this pedal than a boost would really offer. I’m actually selling mine because I haven’t used it in years and I feel bad that it’s not getting stomped on.
Dude-play da damn ting,already!!
Hi Mark. Is there any other amp that got your attention ? You seemed to really love your TR :)
I got the Bloomfield Drive and the only reason I am selling this one is to fund other gear to keep my GAS at bay hahaha
@@markhopkinsmusic thanks for the response and congrats on the Bloomfield !! I was sure you got something else from the TR stable :)
@@slawekradon5659 yeah I wouldn’t sell it other wise that’s for sure. I’m on the hunt for a new acoustic and a great P90 guitar.
👍🏿🤘
Just my opinion but that thing does not sound good.. so funny how fast they sold out
Thanks for doing this. Really appreciated.
My pleasure!
Awesome demo, man! I've been on the lookout for a harmonic trem and after considering Walrus Monument and MXR M305 stumbled on the Hydra. Found out that the reverbs are also way nicer than on my current Hall of Fame v1, and placed the order. Can't wait to get my hands on one! It's a lucky coincidence that the reverb algorithms on the Hydra are the same I have been using on the HoF the most - spring, plate and room/hall, which have been getting increasingly uninspiring for me on the HoF lately. Anyway, thanks again for your video and hope to see a comparison between this and the Flint sometime.
Aww shucks thanks so much!! I’ll def try to do a comparison of the two soon.
Took 6 months but it arrived on my birthday. Glad to have a Klon circuit at 99 and laugh every time I think about what people pay for the ‘real’ thing. It stacks well with my tumnus deluxe.
Nice! Double Klon attack! I just rediscovered how well the Morning Glory stacks with my TS9.
the diference in the sound its cuz one have alnico II (custom shop) and the other alnico V (99)
Why hasn't the bass guitar been connected to the third Klon yet?
I have a bass - I could try it out for sure and post a video or a short
Sounds are great. Controls are meh. Hate little multi-function knobs.
not gonna lie it took me a min to get used to it (3 days) but now it's easy to use and I love it as much as the Flint. But I get it , cuz I am the same most of the time depending on how steep the learning curve.
Great video Mark, really showed what we were trying to do with this design.
Glad you dug it, buddy!
Sweet! It does pair well with the 335 humbuckers.
Heck yea it does!
You ask all the right questions 👊😎
Thank you so much!
